Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), who has cast herself in the past few days as a champion of gun owners, had a very different message when she spoke eight years ago to the Newspaper Association of America.

"CLINTON TAKES AIM AT GUNS," said the all-caps headline on the group's Web site after she told members in May 2000, during her Senate campaign, that "there isn't a more important task" than passing gun-safety laws.

I'm not a happy Democrat. I supported Mrs. Clinton for a long time; because she seemed to have other's best interests at heart & was sincere in her beliefs of how to improve our country & our communities. But now, I'm not so sure. Her recent 'Annie Oakley' image got on my nerves. As a voter, gun concerns are an important issue nowadays (today, btw, is the anniversary date of the Virginia Tech. massacre). I now think that Sen. Obama has shown far more integrity & courage in standing up to the loud pro-gun nuts and 'taking aim' at gun violence/gun crime issues in our society.

So much for Hillary.

Some people on this board think that Senator Obama's poking fun at Hillary and calling her Annie Oakley is funny and a brilliant political comeback. It was clever, but there is a huge downside that apparently the Obama campaign did not consider. Annie Oakley is a hero to women in all the states that he needs to win going forward including PA. Hillary's base learned all about Annie when they were kids. Young girls still write their book reports about her. I did when I was a kid. She's a legend. LOL. I guarantee some women will view this as a sexist remark from Obama again. Did anybody see the women's faces behind the podium the other day when he was making that joke. Barely an "UNCOMFORTABLE" chuckle from the women behind him at the event. A few actually looked at each other to see if it was okay to BARELY chuckle at the joke. OOPS, 2nd OBAMA PA blunder flying under the radar for now. I couldn't believe he said it. By the way, Annie Oakley's family was from PA and then moved to OH. Check it out:

I too admire Annie Oakley. But I also know that Barack Obama was merely using name as an example of marksmanship, the same way saying "now he's a Roger Penske " about someone suddenly claiming to know a lot about car engines is in no way a slight to Roger Penske's character.

Sen. Obama, is getting a little rougher with the Sarcasm lately. Annie Oakley and the comment about a "A Shot and a Beer" is getting a bit snarky. In a good way but I think he has reached his limit with the attacks. The "Bitter" attack was the final straw when he decided to be a little more pointed with his sarcasm. Every time we turn around Ms. Hillary is changing her story. She does what McClone does...change stories depending on the temperature in the room. Adding misery to Hill-arity, that scene with her downing a shot and a beer was silly, just plain silly. She doesn't think we see her for her false moves.
