Deborah Jeane Palfrey, DC Madam, Found Guilty Of Running Prostitution Ring

The AP reports that Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the woman infamously known as the DC Madam, has been found guilty of running a prostitution service:

A federal jury has convicted a woman of running a high-end prostitution ring that catered to members of Washington's political elite.

The verdict against Deborah Jeane Palfrey was announced in a courtroom Tuesday afternoon.

Palfrey has repeatedly denied the escort service engaged in prostitution, and that any sex acts happened without her knowledge. Palfrey caused a sensation last year when she announced that she would sell her phone records to news outlets to pay for her defense.

Her most famous client was Republican Senator David Vitter, of Lousiana. Sen. Vitter was named as a witness in the case and could have been called to testify. He could have refused, but even that would have required a potentially very embarrassing trip to the courthouse.

Sen. Vitter was so reluctant to answer questions from the press about his relationship with Ms. Palfrey hat he crashed his car trying to evade reporters. Watch the video here.

Fortunately for Sen. Vitter, he was spared from having to testify.

DC8, you are right! How DARE the assholes in the judicial system continue to persecute and imprison the madams and, sometimes, the employees, but not the men who seek and obtain their services! Our damnable judicial system arrests both the drug dealers and the drug users but does not arrest the customers of prostitutes? What a corrupted system! A middle-aged woman who was my family's neighbor in the 1960s, who became a second mother to me, owned, with her husband, a pharmacy in the San Francisco Bay area and told me that she believed that if the courts had any sensibility and tolerance they would condone that which was sensible: Legalize prostitution with a guarantee that all prostitutes would visit doctors regularly and undergo physical tests to determine if STDs existed and, if so, eradicate them with Penicillin. Democracy is diminishing in this country as long as there is a continuance of the aforementioned double standard. It particularly and most prominently nauseates me when a madam is discovered whose employees service Congressmen, corporate employees, and other jerks near and within Washington D.C. and then an assholic judge in that jurisdication announces, as always, that the madam's black book MUST NOT BE RELEASED!

What about the John"s? I guess they get to go home to their families and friends, less the cost of what they desired and then the whole mess will just go away. If no one wanted this service then there wouldn't be whores (male & female). I think the subject deserves a worldwide review so we can settle the matter once and for all. There are too many differing laws by states and countries for people to really understand how this issue is to be dealt with morally and judicially. Lets just get it over with. Do we want to pay for sex or not? One way or the other do the time or pay the dime. I say let the public decide.
