I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Bush And Benedict
Pope Benedict XVI became only the second Pope to visit the White House, and he gave a speech about the purpose of his trip and the importance of democracy being informed by moral values. In attendance was, of course, Bush. The President must have been extremely impressed by the Pope's words because right after Pope Benedict concluded his remarks, Bush leaned over and said, "Thank you, your holiness. Awesome speech."

Serious question; why do we hate theocracies and embrace the two most obvious ones - The Vatican and Israel?

Israel is not a theocracy.
Why don't you throw the Sharia Law countries on the pile, starting with Saudi Arabia?

When did we hate theocracies? Or is that just you?

That's right, Bush. Bend yer knee to Pope Rat, the Vicar of Christ on Earth.

So he HAD to join the Nazi party, right? They forced him? Just so we're CLEAR on that.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Hell, Kurt Waldheim is laughing his ass off.

"He's the WHAT?" Satan asked.

Great Bush speaking performance, seems he got six whole words out without stumbling! A great speech, for Bush.

Is that the confederate flag in the background? I also thought I heard someone shout 'white power' from the audience when he initially came out to speak....but can't be sure about that one because I wasn't fully paying attention..................strange....but then again this pope does have that 'look' to him and he was a Nazi...maybe some crazy Nazis feel solidarity with him.........

Love the confederate flag....considering how careful the Bushies are to market their"buzz words" behind every speaking engagement, you'd think sopmeone would have noticed this glaring little error. Just add this to the list list of "you gotta be kiddinn' me" moments over the last 7 years.

It's the Mississippi flag. You have to ask that state why they still have the stars and bars as their symbol.

And the KKK has always hated papists. To them, the pope is the antichrist!

Truly !! When i saw the pic i thought i must actually be on the 23/6 site. A nazi pedophile and an incoherent psychopath sharing the stage with a confederate flag. Surrealism lives. The question is will our planet survive the relentless predation of these subhumans?

The ONLY reason why I could think of why they woul prop THAT flag right behind the podium is to make the Pope feel right at home. Nazi does as Nazi do...

Bush has all the expressive powers of a high school sophomore. If asked to summarize the Pope's speech, Bush would probably say, "Wow, awesome! He said somethin' 'bout peace." It is our fault we elected a president with the curiousity of a spoiled rich kid and the intellectual ability of a walnut.

Isn't it a shame that some states still use that symbol of hate for their state flag. Get over it. You got your butts kicked. That hateful rag should only be used for wiping your butt.

I just had the same question. It's gotta be. Why would a treacherous flag be displayed anywhere on public grounds? What despicable symbolism.

Pope to Bush: "God can see you and He knows what you did."

My question is: what is the stars and bars of the Confederacy doing in the photo of the Pope and the president? I'm assuming it's part of one of our state flags, but it sure caught my attention!

I friend sent this to me. Absolute must read:

Direct quote from the just published REAGAN DIARIES.

The entry is dated May 17, 1986.

'A moment I've been dreading. George brought his ne're-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.'

Wow! No wonder they kept this under wraps so long. This verifies that he was indeed the great communicator in terms of telling it like it is.

It's a joke. The quote isn't in the diaries. Look it up on Snopes.com.

Thanks FDR. I got this forwarded from a friend, and let's face it, it sure sounds about right. But when I checked, I found conflicting reports, some claiming it was true, some saying it was a hoax. If it is in fact the latter, my apologies.

Worth nothing though: Even if it is not authentic, it most certainly has the ring of truth! ;-)

As they say, many truths are spoken in jest . . .

This is classic. I can't wait for the other information that will be coming forward after Bush leaves office. Knowing the trials and tribulations of fatherhood I can't imagine what George H.W. is thinking. Man I think I'd kill myself if I was his father.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

In this case, just three spring to mind:

"Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion"
