Bush To Pope Benedict: "Thank You, Your Holiness. Awesome Speech"

Pope Benedict XVI became only the second Pope to visit the White House, and he gave a speech about the purpose of his trip and the importance of democracy being informed by moral values. In attendance was, of course, Bush. The President must have been extremely impressed by the Pope's words because right after Pope Benedict concluded his remarks, Bush leaned over and said, "Thank you, your holiness. Awesome speech."

This is a doctored picture. Not only are the flags in the picture different from those in the vidio, the background in the vidio clearly shows a stone archway behind the pope and flags. In the picture the background is black and the flags seem to be setting at a different angle from the ones in the vidio. Also the flags are unfurreled by the wind in the vidio and in the picture they seem to be hanging still. no wind on them. This is a doctored picture. NYT, CNN and WaPo all show the same flags and stone arch background. Also the State of Indiana flag and the Mississippi state flag are totally out of context for an event at the White House. Also, with the angle of the sun, the pope's shadow should be seen on the Indiana flag but is not.

From this picture it appears that every state flag was included. Beside no one has the time or a motive for faking this picture. You probably think Oswald did not act alone too.

My thoughts EXACTLY. I am originally from South Carolina, and I loathe the fact that the Confederate flag was flown over the statehouse for years. The bigots claimed (and still claim) it was to honor heritage, but we ALL knew it was to put a stick in the eye of the civil rights movement. It was supposed to only be up for the centennial of the Civil War. In today's terms, the Confederates were terrorists. That flag represents bigotry and terrorism, poverty and displacement. That's some great "heritage" huh? And whoever left that thing up to greet a foreign dignitary ought to be ashamed of themselves. I didn't think Bush could sink much lower in my opinion, but he did. He's the president and should have immediately had that flag taken away. Talk about an elitest!

You can clearly see the flags of Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois, and to the right, Wisconsin, in the background. But the order makes no sense, as these states are not in alphabetical order, and in terms of admission to the Union, they are #20, #22, #21 & #30. It appears that the flags were deliberately arranged in only approximate order, such that Alabama and Mississippi would be in the background from the WH press corps pool-camera angle. That's a bit odd...

in his speech he kicked Bush's but, reminding him, amongst other things, that any government has to base its action on truth.

In addition he emphasized the need for a strong UN.

I call that a clear rebuke of Mr. Bush' Iraq policy.
