Bush To Pope Benedict: "Thank You, Your Holiness. Awesome Speech"

Pope Benedict XVI became only the second Pope to visit the White House, and he gave a speech about the purpose of his trip and the importance of democracy being informed by moral values. In attendance was, of course, Bush. The President must have been extremely impressed by the Pope's words because right after Pope Benedict concluded his remarks, Bush leaned over and said, "Thank you, your holiness. Awesome speech."

Not only are the flags in the picture different from those in the vidio, the background in the vidio clearly shows a stone archway behind the pope and flags. In the picture the background is black and the flags seem to be setting at a different angle from the ones in the vidio. Also the flags are unfurreled by the wind in the vidio and in the picture they seem to be hanging still. no wind on them. This is a doctored picture. NYT, CNN and WaPo all show the same flags and stone arch background.

I don't know. I think the photographer was located further to the right and had a different angle than the guy shooting the video. Also the flags are all held in a lowered posture as opposed to being raised during the speech. Some sort of protocol thing, I think.

I agree that one should never automatically accept a photo from MSM, but I think this one is not doctored.

Why is the Bush administration flying the flag of traitors who attacked the United States of America in 1861? The Confederate flag always has and always will represent the treasonous criminals who openly supported the enslavement of other human beings and who declared war on our country in order to continue that enslavement - a war that cost the lives of over 600,000 people. Anyone who flies that flag is telling the world that they approve of the slavery and the treason that took place in our country over a hundred years ago. Bush may as well be flying the flag of the KKK.

I think that is a doctored photograph. I cannot find the flag in any other news source including the vidio provided by Arianna. There are flags behind the Pope in New York Times, CNN and WaPo. But none of them are the confederate flag. Where did Arianna get this picture. Some fraud is afoot.
