Fox & Friends' Steve Doocy Congratulates His Son For Asking McCain Question About Hillary's Drinking

Yesterday when Chris Matthews interviewed John McCain at Villanova University as part of the "Hardball" College Tour, a junior named Peter Doocy asked McCain whether Hillary had taken to drinking after a hard-fought campaign (Hillary was seen taking shots and drinking beer in Pennsylvania over the weekend). Doocy turned out to be the son of "Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy, who interviewed — and congratulated — his son this morning on his show. The younger Doocy also mentioned that Chris Matthews "looked a little grumpy" when he realized that he was the son of a Fox News personality.

Aw, c'mon people! Lighten up. It was a College Campus and there's always some wiseacre in the audience wanting to ask a 'funny' question. So it was Doocey's kid, so what?

The question was funny and McCain's response was funny, and the audience thought it was funny too. Be honest, that joke question had already been asked around your workplace water cooler already, right?

If we can't have lighter moments during the campaign it's going to be a very lonnnnng campaign indeed. I'm sure Hillary and Obama will get similar questions at some stage.

Perhaps you won't understand my logic but no one serving in uniform has died in vein. Service and sacrifice are honorable no matter the circumstance. Leaders must take responsibility for the effects of their decisions. Militarily the war was won, was won again and can be won every dam day. Our soldiers are not fighting a war but providing security for the rebuilding of Iraq. Our military is trained to break things not rebuild nations.
