Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), the Democratic Party's 2000 vice presidential nominee, is leaving open the possibility of giving a keynote address on behalf of Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) at the Republican National Convention in September.

Republicans close to the McCain campaign say Lieberman's appearance at the convention, possibly before a national primetime audience, could help make the case that the presumptive GOP nominee has a record of crossing the aisle. That could appeal to much-needed independent voters.

More like defining the term "the Lieberman effect". That is where the liberal wins the primary election but loses the general election because moderate Democrats and Republicans ban together to defeat the far left candidate.

To all you Clinton supporters: I look forward to working with you to bring about an end to the far left's and far right's attempt to dominate the election process and divide the country. Let the wise people of Connneticut shows us the way.

Fibberman is going to be very irrelevant after the next election. Coneticoot is going to be very sorry that they voted for an independent right winger and that they are stuck with him for 4 more years. He will then be caucusing with a party that will lose even more senators, hopefully enough that fillibustering won't even be an option for the repukes. Want some pork spending to come your way coneticootians? Tough!

Joe Lieberman is a patriot who has served our nation with distinction, and the GOP would be honored to have this fine man address its assembly as it chooses the next president of our great nation.

I heard Chuck Todd on Countdown tell Keith, that Lieberman's feelings were hurt because he lost the Democratic primary, that the Dems are really angry with him and the Republicans view him as an oddity. Joe that makes your makes you a freak my friend, a tool that the aliens left behind. Well Joe that's as good of a excuse as any to lie to the voters of CT that you're just bipartisan and not in bed with the neo-cons. Admitted it Joe your a token Republican in state where the Republican candidate was polling at less than 16%. If McCain loses you can always run for office in Israel, because the voters of Connecticut are going vote you ass out in 2012, if your not recalled first, because I know there is a movement their to do just that.

The absolute shortest route to COMPLETE NEOCON control of our Executive Branch is to run Senator Lieberman with Senator McCain.

More likely than not, McCain's health would control how long it would take to see a President Lieberman in the Oval Office.

If you yearn for this distinct possibility, vote Republican.

Will the McCain, Lieberman, Hagee stars align at the GOP convention, and bring us closer to the Rapture?

Lieberman is a non-entity, but his descent from freedom rider to Republican wannabe is truly depressing. It should be an object lesson in the loss of youthful ideals. From anti-Vietnam to Bomb Iran. Disgusting. I suspect he represents interests external to both political parties.

Lieberman will cause the Republican convention to suck a little more. He will energize the Democrats. What does he do for the Republicans? Bring out the dog lovers?

Joe will go as Lindsey Graham's beard - to cover John with all those cameras.

Just like their arrangement in Iraq.

Pretty sad sight ... these two elderly men propping each other up. Liebermann really comes across as being McCain's mind-er. I wonder how the folks who voted for Liebermann in his recent re-election feel about him turning Republican.

Hopefully, Lieberman will become irrelevant in November. With President Obama in the White House and an expanded majority in the Senate, they can take away his chairmanship and he will be just another Senator.
