Michelle Colbert

Michelle Obama appeared on Tuesday night's "Colbert Report," which was filmed in Philadelphia, and was subjected to the jokes, flirtations and songs of host Stephen Colbert. It seems Barack is a better singer than Stephen:

1st family options:

Barack & Michelle
McCain/Cruella Deville
Bill & Hill

Ha!

all i could think of while i watched her was..."an actual functioning family in the WH? wow, i would love to see it!"

esp. considering the amount of broken homes in the country now.

(and i'm a statistic in that category)

I had not thought of that, but you are right. It would be great to see a functional family in the White House.

Michelle for First Lady!!!!!

This was quite a charming interview - what a positive outlook and terrific sense of humor she has.
I don't know why, but I was hoping she'd sing back. :)

Michelle Obama's intelligence, thoughtfulness, and grace come across loud and clear.

Maybe, this was the "SECOND" time she was really proud of her country - being on Colbert.

Michelle Obama is awesome.

I watched the interview with baited breath because Stephen usually approaches his interviews like the 3 Stooges meet South Park. The running gag is whether his guests realize if he is serious or joking. A savvy guest allows him his jokes and stays above the fray, and Michelle Obama played him with class and cool. That is why Stephen ended up behaving himself. Imagine that same confident and disarming approach in a banquet with world leaders. When people want experience for the job, we just got glimpse of what she can do.

She will be an amazing first lady, I was very impressed.

I think Colbert showed respect for Michelle as a class act. We would be so lucky to have her in the WH.

Best part was when he asked her is she will run for pres after Baracks's 8 years. BTW - don't be surpised if he pulls a fast one on Hillary and takes her to town. If he gets the opening he'll slam her and damage her despite any professional backlash.

There won't be any backlash. Hillary is a comedy goldmine

Well, she's no Laura Bush, that's for sure.

I was disappointed with the softball from Colbert. He just let her deliver her talking points. I was hoping for some comedy.

she is what makes me believe he is for real. to earlier comments--i think she's always "on her game." in fact, her appearance on colbert pales in comparison to some speeches i've heard her give. she's amazing. if HER sincerity is fake, i will just forget about ever having noble politicians.

though i must say, i think something about the process does something negative to them, even when they start 100% sincere. i wonder if the press doesn't beat them into a state of submission where they're afraid to ever say what they really want to say because of the myriad ways "honesty" can be miscontrued.

Mrs. Obama was great. Even though Stephen Colbert was a funny and gracious interviewer, he did give an opportunity for Mrs. Obama to enter the heat of the campaign, for example, with the question about her becoming a presidential candidate following her husband's term in office in keeping with the way it now seems to go. However, she stayed above the fray, bantering with Colbert in a self-effacing comment that one Obama after eight-years would be enough. Moreover, her comment on the competition between Democratic candidates strengthening prospects for victory against the Republican candidate in fall was well said.

Beautiful and classy? I guess it really is in the eyes of the beholder. My prediction is she will be a tremendous embarrassment to this country as a first lady. The first thing she should do is get someone to teach her how to dress properly with clothing that fits across her rear end. Secondly, she should learn to speak as if she really is an educated person. Thirdly, she should practice not flaring her nostrils. Come on - hit me.

"Flaring her nostrils"??? A little racist don't you think? Your problem is that she is black and nothing else.

She is beautiful and classy. BTW, her dress was appropriate. Unlike you, her words clearly showed her to be educated.

As for hitting you .. Wouldn't waste my energy.

The petty, small and masochistic. Hillary supporter, right?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:21 PM on 04/16/2008

Sure, she's not as classy as The Heroine of Tuzla mocking our soldiers heroism while fluffing her heavily padded resume. Not as classy as hillary revising history by denying her support for NAFTA . Not as classy as endorsing McCain over our presumptive nominee. Not as classy as trying to change the rules of the game after its started. Yes, one can only hope that Mrs. Obama will stop flaring those nostrils and conduct herself like that paragon of dignity hillary clinton. Come-on hit me?? Victim card much? Bessie, if your being abused get some help. There's no need to stay in an abusive relationship, unless your husband's the President and you're hoping to run yourself.

Yes bessie1 beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I suspect that you are a tremendous embarrassment to this country. The first thing you should do is stop talking out your ass. The second thing you should do is get your eyes checked. The third thing you should do is realize that not everyone shops at goodwill, then you would discover that her dress was very pretty and fit her very well. The fourth thing you should do is get out more so that you can discover what a typical midwesterner sounds like. And speaking of nostrils - there's something hanging out your nose. Lastly, no one wants to hit you because at some point you were obviously dropped on your head.
