Imus: Obama "Almost A Bigger Pussy" Than Hillary

MediaMatters reports that on his radio show this morning, Don Imus said that Barack Obama is "almost a bigger pussy than [Hillary Clinton]." From the Media Matters summary:

During the April 17 edition of Imus in the Morning, host Don Imus asserted that Sen. Barack Obama is "almost a bigger pussy than" Sen. Hillary Clinton. While discussing the April 16 Democratic debate, Imus said he thought that co-moderator George Stephanopoulos was "great" and that the debate was "fine," adding: "I thought Senator Obama was on the defensive most of the night. But they're both sissy boys or sissy girls, or whatever. Because they talk big when they're out on the campaign trail, wolfing on each other." News anchor Charles McCord interjected, "But then," and Imus continued: "And then when they show up at the debate, they fold up like a couple of cheap lawn chairs. I mean, I don't understand that. And he's almost a bigger pussy than she is."

Those of you who think that Obama should've flipped roles and tried to play the aggressor should remember what happened the last time an opponent of Hillary decided he would be aggressive towards her in a debate performance. Obama is too smart to fall for that.

I can't imagine what would happen to John McCain if he were subjected to a similar line of questioning. He'd probably be drinking oil from Charlie Gibson's skull as we speak.

I posted earlier that Obama had just made a huge mistake by following the Huffington Post lead and trying to blame the press for his bad debate performance. The press has been Obama's best friend, they have given him a free ride, and now he is biting the very hand that fed him. The mainstream media are a tight knit group. They will not let this slight against them go unanswered. Mark my words, they will make Obama pay. It has begun already, Imus (who I am no fan of) is just the tip of the iceberg. Obama should have just kept blaming Hillary for every problem under the sun, by blaming the press for his own failure, he has sewn the seeds to his campaigns destruction. George Stephanopoulos & Charlie Gibson out to be ashamed of themselves. Do they really think most Americans want to hear about flag lapel pins when we can’t afford mortgages, gas and food prices? Obama should speak to voter fears on patriotism, especially since the right wing pundits artificially heighten them. But how many times does he have rehash pins and his pastor. It’s not just the flag pin question, it’s the degradation and misdirection of the questions. Does Sen. Obama think he’s more patriotic than Rev Wright? Does Sen. Clinton think she’s more patriotic than Sen. Obama? Give me a break! Did the moderators get high school kids to write these questions?

These two candidates are not American Idol contestants, they’re presidential candidates! They both have excellent policy ideas that we didn’t get to hear because the moderators focused on Republican screaming points instead. How about some questions pertinent to Pennsylvania workers’ outsourced jobs from Clinton administration trade agreements? Hillary wants to change NAFTA, but did her husband and campaign manager receive a million dollars to lobby for new Columbia free trade agreements? Is that a conflict of interest Pennsylvania voters should have answers for?

ABC’s elitist pandering to right wing pundits’ tabloid news degrades the American electoral process and exposes their network’s prioritization of ratings over public service. I think they should apologize to the candidates and offer to pay some of the advertising dollars their tactics generated to an unbiased not-for-profit information organization such as Vote Smart.
