Freedomtower

The New York Post has an exclusive report on a homeless man who found the "confidential" blueprints for the Freedom Tower in a New York dumpster!

It's a good thing Osama wasn't walking through SoHo yesterday morning.

Two sets of confidential blueprints for the planned Freedom Tower, which is set to rise at Ground Zero, were carelessly dumped in a city garbage can on the corner of West Houston and Sullivan streets, The Post has learned.

Experts said the detailed, floor-by-floor schematics contain enough detail for terrorists to plot a devastating attack.

Below is a photo of the blueprints:

Below is a drawing of the planned Freedom Tower:

These are the same plans that become public record as soon as they get a building permit.

After twenty years in construction I have to say that this is just too common. Most people just do not care about these important documents. It could be as simple as these documents were in their way when they wanted to eat their pastrami sandwich or maybe they were spoken to in the wrong tone. Also, these drawing begin to pile up, especially after revisions are issued, so one must get rid of them. The companies I worked for have always recycled but many do not.

On another note, this building is a joke. The intended height of 1,776 feet is completely arbitrary. If it chooses 1,776 feet as its symbolic base, then it should be called the "Freedom to be White, 25, and a Property Owner that Can Also Own Slaves". Those are the only people that had true freedom in 1776. Women and non-Euro-Americans have had to wait for the freedom that we have today. Please do not misunderstand me - I love this country and would live in no other, however, it is not perfect and we must no shy away from our history. Women could not vote until 1920, so perhaps we should make the tower 1,920 feet tall. Many African-Americans could not vote until the late 1960's, so let's make it 1,965 tall. I could go on. I have truly admired many works by Libeskind but this is not one of them. The one building that should truly have a concept does not.

Perhaps 1971 feet would be the right height....when Nixon took us off the gold standard and our standard of living has decreased ever since.

LOL, Freedom Tower - now THAT is a joke.

Key buzz words for our fascist guvment are "freedom" and "terror". Freedom Tower my ass, how about restoring some of our civil liberties, then we can talk about "Freedom Towers'.

Black is white, war is peace, and freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose.

We already have lost some of our most basic freedoms. You probably haven't heard - everyone you know is afraid to tell you about it over the phone or by email.

Why do architects hate the USA?

4 short buildings and one tall one, arranged to resemble a hand gesture.

That's not hate, that's clever.

The purist in me just wants NYC to rebuild the World Trade Center EXACTLY AS IT WAS.

Is that too much to ask?

Here is the most cynical theory behind the Trade Towers take down.

It is harder to prove that it was not an inside job than vice verse. The way it has been presented for public consumption takes a lot of giving the benefit of the doubt.

Prior to 911, rumors were that the owner of the twin towers wanted to replace them with bigger more modern buildings but removal of the old buildings would be cost prohibitive.

The take down was an inside job that included cohesion with the owner.

The name of the new building "The Freedom Tower" I find smarmy and offensive to my intelligence.
Historically , this government has given nicety nice names to evil operations to throw off the public. It sickens me how people will patrioticly adopt these juvenile names and slogans.

I'm hoping someday America will become too sophisticated to be fooled by this sophomoric mind control technique.

Well, Popular Mechanics debunked pretty much ever conspiracy theory, so that was pretty easy.

And there is a lot of buildings with the word "memorial" and "3,000 people who went to work one day and were murdered by 19 insane a-holes tower" wouldn't work all that well.

What could terrorists figure out from the plan that they couldn't figure out anyway?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:53 PM on 04/18/2008

You are exactly right. This is sensationalist to the core.

"It's a good thing Osama wasn't walking through SoHo yesterday morning." /gag

There are a lot of reasons for the plans to be confidential, but the idea that there is some inherent weakness - like a two-meter exhaust port that gives direct access to the reactor core - revealed in the blueprints that terrorists couldn't learn about and exploit otherwise is asinine.

Freedom Tower (like Freedoms Tower and Freedomses Tower) is an idiotic name that smells of the Monkey President Administration.

Would that tower be shaped like a Freedom Fry?

Why not just tear down the Statue Of Liberty, a gift from France, and put it there?

First Osama is dead.

This is no surprise.
The right wants us scared all the time but there's little they can or will do to protect us.
Probably some contractor dropped the plans while they were out drinking one night..

First they don't care; second all the money is going to their companies in Iraq.

"Osama's not dead! He's living fat on his government check in Pakistan!"

Now we know where all of that missing billions of dollars went - not towards the Iraq situation, but to buy off Osama. How silly of us not to have recognized this?
