Nash McCabe is the voter from Wednesday night's presidential debate who noted that Barack Obama doesn't usually wear a flag pin and asked, "I want to know if you believe in the American flag."

ABC, which hosted the debate, had tracked her down after she was quoted in a New York Times story about white voters in small-town Latrobe, Pa., revealing her as 52, out of work and against Obama.

That woman is 52? I'm 57, and she looks like my grandma. If we walked down the street side by side and needed help crossing the busier intersections, she'd get ALL the Boy Scouts. I wouldn't get a single one. Is that fair?? No wonder she's so self-important about nothing!

I am really quite astonished as to how "Compassionate" Obama folks really are.

This lady is a real American. She has worked hard all her life. And at a time when she should be able to be in a position in any company and confidently look toward retirement, she is unemployed through no fault of her own.

And yet she defies YOUR opinion because quite simply she is scared and worried about her future and she does not trust someone who seems to have made it quite easily.

And you call her "Racist" too!

HOW DARE YOU!

I understand this woman because I'm right there with her in so many ways..
You see I've worked on a plant floor myself and stood for 10-12 hour days, have you?
And I know how hard it is to find a job because mine was stolen right out from under my feet at a
time when I should have been less worried.

But you haven't!

And I have a college degree and that's not worth much either.

Truth is that NONE OF YOU understand how bad it is now because you are sitting there happy as can be, because you are young and not responsible or in college or doing really well.

That lady has a right to be scared and a right to look at Obama with great uncertainty, just like I do.

That's exactly why a flag pin should be the least of her worries.

Eddistardust. Pardon my bluntness but you are a racist just like McCabe. Neither of you would vote for Hillary Clinton either. You both are what is wrong with this country. Ignorant, uninformed, and ready to vote against your own self-interests because you can't see past your racism.

I wonder if Nash McCabe ever sits back and realizes just how stupid she is. For eight years now her standard of living has declined, but at least George W. always had a flag pin on. They're made in China, btw.

McCabe is an obvious racist IMHO. I cant believe that even the dumbest person on this earth, would not or would vote for a person based on whether they wear a flag pin. She is a bitter, angry woman, and a racist. I would never want her vote. She won't be voting for Clinton either. She is definitely a republican-type voter.

I have no sympathy for somebody stupid enough to vote against their economic interests because of a lapel pin.

She should be asking "Do you believe in affordable healthcare for all Americans?"

Skin color aside, people make their own GD "luck". Obama made something out of himself through that process and damn hard work. Is she kidding that any black person in America is a elitist because he lived in Hawaii for a while when he was a child. She still is into that old southern racist thing about, even though my family are a bunch of losers, how dare them black people think they are better.

Agreed. While I have many misgvings about Obama, he did come from a humble background and made something of himself through hard work. This McCabe woman is nothing but a two bit loser. She deserves the hard luck that she is having. As far as I'm concerned, she's a waste of space on this planet. She can take her flag pin and.....

Someone needs to direct Mrs. McCabe to Bob Schieffer's commentary made today.

While I"m not without compassion for her position in life........the fact is, imo, she's racist.
Also, what in the hell could she possibly mean by saying that Hillary is closer to her own experience and that Obama has 'had it too easy'??
What the hell kind of financial hardship has Hillary faced?
Now.....if you want to talk about the 'lyin cheatin husband' kind of hardship Hillary has had........well..then I could sympathize. Which, btw, I did ten years ago......but now.......I kinda get why Bill strayed.

Why is it that we are talking about racism here...simply because one candidate is Black and this woman is white? How do you dare to know what is in her heart? HUH?

And you are the hope of America?

Sheesh, give me a break!

The fact that she's so peevish, so on-the-offensive, so deeply irritated, narrow-eyed and clamp-teethed, without a sound rationale that anyone can put a finger on, makes her venom seem like it must be, well, racist. She doesn't like Obama. It's clearly visceral. I know what it looks like to ME. There's nothing "pulled out of thin air" about the suggestion that she is a racist.
