McClatchy DC:

The war in Iraq has become "a major debacle" and the outcome "is in doubt" despite improvements in security from the buildup in U.S. forces, according to a highly critical study published Thursday by the Pentagon's premier military educational institute.

The report released by the National Defense University raises fresh doubts about President Bush's projections of a U.S. victory in Iraq just a week after Bush announced that he was suspending U.S. troop reductions.

"Pentagon Institute: Iraq War 'A Major Debacle,' Outcome 'Is In Doubt' " - The families and loved one's of 4,040 loyal and trusting Americans who perished there will be delighted to read this news.

This false war and never-ending occupation is now a crime which each and every American citizen is guilty. Like being a war criminal? Keep voting Republican.

Everyone who funded Bush's election and reelection is making money off the war. In fact, they are making more money than if it had been a well planned mission.

They are making billions.

This is what they want. War and money. Sick insane piles of money while the rest of us watch our county become weaker and weaker.

See it for what it is.

People have read and researched, written and postulated all sorts of theory about the Bushes and their wars in Iraq, and it really is impressive to read all the brilliant conjecture here, but as a simple, only generally educated, barely articulate ordinary American citizen, I didn't need all this to KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that both Bush administrations and both wars were not in the best interest of people like me and this country. During GHWB's administration I had 3 bumper stickers that summed up my sentiments: "Bush sucks!" "Subvert the dominant paradigm" and "No Iraq WAr for OIl!" We actually went downtown and marched with a few hundred others against desert storm. When GWB was elected, again we KNEW we were in for really awful times and we again marched against the invasion of Iraq this time and had the stickers: "Cheney is a creep!." "Impeach Bush!" and "I'm already against the NEXT war!" So if this KNOWING is as spot on as it looks like it is, why do we need all these brilliant pundits and institutes to announce, long after the fact , what we, in our common folks' "ignorance" knew just by looking and listening to these crooks? Maybe that's the same kind of "knowing' the people want and Obama had?

I felt nauseaous when watching the fucking Nazi victory parade after Desert Storm.

I still won't have anything to do with any bastard who brags about having taken part in that or the the current raping and pillaging of Iraq.

Just something else for Pelosi to toss on her "never to do" pile.

Ah, the blame Pelosi post.

Right on time.

For the record. The speaker of the house can not stop the president from making war. She can only strand our troops there by cutting off funding.

Re-read the Constitution. The army belongs to the people, via Congress. The President simply commands that army.

The blame Pelosi post is always on time, always accurate, because it is the truth.

The point is wedgie, you are one hour and ten minutes late. What's wrong?

You Pelosi shills are usually quicker off the mark to get your talking points (lies) up after every post that slams her.

She would not strand the troops even though Rush would agree with you.
She would save lives, save money, save credibility, and stop war profiteering by the usual suspects, our MIC. I guess you are opposed to that.

De-fund the war.

I think this is pretty bad... I guess we can still impeach bush and tricky dick II even after they leave office. Then there might exist a way to impeach their entire administration so at least one document contrary to the spin that the entire presidential library is being based on will be publicly and conspicuously absent from the pending bush library at Southern Methodist University. I just think it is important to set the record straight. This has been a complete f--k story. Plain and simple.

But, but, but... Victory is just around the corner.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that from Bush *and* McCain.

So, it must be true. That's all there is to it.

At some point, even if Congress won't cut off funding, China will.

But it will have to be a totally hopeless situation before that happens.

But, but David Petraeus said.....and Dick Cheney said "so?"...This neocon cabal needs to be prosecuted, starting with impeachment of Bush and Cheney and then digging deeper from there.

Not just Faux News. NBC, ABC (Faux News 2), CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and the major newspapers who are too buddy-buddy with Johnny McCain to report the truth on Iraq and his stance. The media is too busy going to his BBQ's and using his special BBQ sauce.

4,000+dead American heroes, 29,000+ wounded. The media is complicit at this point (and at the start of it or that matter. They looooove Johnny McCain.

Maybe that lying traitor, "journalist" Judith Miller formerly of the NYT, could wtite another puff piece about The war's success and McNUTS" chief strategist, Charlie Black's connection with Miller's favorite other liar-Ahmed Chalibi!!!! I wonder if Cyndi McNuts stole that BBQ sauce recipe from Graham Kerr, "the Galloping Gourmet"????

Heads will roll.. From Private Fodder, to Major Debacle, up to General Petroleum, up to King Pinocchio, to Shotgun Cheney, and then to the Neo Con Think Tanks who thought of this scam to fleece the United States Treasury.. And we're letting these Neo Nazi Parasites get away with it.
Sionce we went into Iraq on everchanging excuses built on lies, half truths and manipulated intelligence and news... We must immediately Impeach King Pinocchio and Shotgun Cheney, withdraw from Iraq and hand the peqacekeeping over to NATO, the UN and the surrounding countries with a vested interest in Iraq's stability.
Since we have up to 3 trillion dollars cost in borrowed American Taxpayer dollars in direct and radiating costs, we must recoup these losses from the Neo Con owned Corporations and Conglomerates, by force if neccessary.
We must go after the conflict of Interest and Collusion challenged Neo Con Parasites infesting the White House and also the equally corrupted Republican and Democratic Legislators who have passed laws and regulations financially benefitting their Corporate Pimps and themselves and also legally shielding their Corporate Pimps to whom they have prostituted their votes.
It's called Revolution, and it shouldn't be too difficult since we did it before to a King George and his Tory enablers.
Iraq is nothing more than another Vietnam.. VIETNAM!

Can we start with a legal solution, impeachment? It is not too late. These perps need to be made accountable, under oath, in public. The trashing of the corporatists will fall out from there....Kinda like trickle down, only we are trickling on them for a change....

I know it seems trite, but gotta start by shutting off Big Brother TV, our corporate overlords' and our corrupt government's mind control machine.

Yes shut of that TV. The one that tells you the biggest lie of all, that Obama is actually different from the rest of these lying war lovers. The "mind control machine" is telling us that this guy is actually doing more than delivering the advertising pitch of hope and change. He is simply the latest offering from our "corporate overlords" to fool us into believing that we have a say in the business of our nation.

If I were an Iraqi living there, I'd occupy that monstrosity and keep it until the electric is on all over the country and the oil revenues go to Iraq and are completely accounted for. How would the neocons react to that? Real natives holding their own property...

Once again, total project cost: 780 million. Been trying for a while to get the blogs to focus more ont the State Department. I could never figure out why such a lavish building when who's going to occupy it is still an open question. Then it hit me. George W. Bush built a monument to himself on the sands of the Arabian dessert. Like some ancient Pharoah. And everyone let him do it, with our money. Makes me sick.

It never was about peace or creating democracy. It never was about WMD (what a joke). It was never about Al Queda, the war on terror or creating security.

It was and still is about Greed for the CEO of Halliburton who is running our country with the help and enforcement of the new praetorian guard known as Blackwater (what an apt name too).

The people of Iraq are paying the highest price of them all – the lives of the children and the fact that it will take generations to forgive America for the sin enacted by the greedy evil men sitting in Washington.

Its not over. My bet is on an ‘attack’ on the US before the election in which the Military Industrial Order declares martial law a draft and the start of the Empire. I pray for the soul of America!!

But the Pentagon Institute's study directly contradicts the Bush Institute of Orwellian Fabrication...What are we to think? ...Could it be that when the Democrats take over the White House in 2008 and follow through on their commitment to substantially reduce our presence in Iraq, the Republicans will want to say that the Democrats lost the war in Iraq? Could that be why Bush and Cheney and the Republican leadership want to perpetuate their fictional narrative on Iraq? Is it just political posturing of the worst kind?....

...And meanwhile, our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, aunts and uncles, friends and neighbors continue to die in Iraq while the Republicans play their detestable political games.
