That was lame. Not that the debate wasn't abysmal but this crappy recap wasn't even on target.

The benefit of the absurd "performances" by the media moderating monkeys is that it shows how ALL media is used to derail, control, and manipulate the political process. When it is done skillfully, we get a president like GW. When done poorly, as in this example, it is easier to see how we're being manipulated.
It makes me bitter...

This would all be very funny if geo.bush et al hadn't been proving to us these past seven + years that we have so very very much to lose. We cannot afford another fascist government to invade our democracy.

why can't we have debates that are truly a public affair??? how is it MSM controls our public political discourse??? can't we imagine ways to ensure public interests rather than corporate interests are front and center in our national conversation???

I couldn't help to notice that after Steppy asked about the weather underground guy that Hillary was
immediately armed to the teeth with all the details of that relationship as if it were rehearsed. It looks
like steppy is still the Clinton's boy. Regardless, Obama seemed to be frozen by the questioning
afraid to dish back too much dirt. His campaign is too lightweight he should be hammering Clinton
on the Corporate-Government special interest corruption preventing an alternative energy economy
I've been waiting for since Carter. He should have some vision and show us what the future would look
like somewhat like Futurama at the 39-40 Worlds fair. That is how he will connect with small town
America. Trouble is he seems to lightweight to deliver--it's frustrating. He should paint Hillary as Mrs.
Corpocracy. We need a structure of small time American individual ownership of our energy resources
that is what the corpocracy is afraid of. If he wants substance over cheap shots he better start to
produce and fast!

Fat old Charlie and little midget George give journalism a bad name. They and the so-called MSM are out of touch with America.

The apostle of hope seemed flummoxed by the audacity of the question. At the April 16 Philadelphia debate, George Stephanopoulos, longtime aide to Democratic politicians, was asking about his longtime association with Weather Underground bomber William Ayers.

The Weather Underground attacked the Pentagon, the Capitol and other public buildings; Ayers was quoted in The New York Times on Sept. 11, 2001, as saying, "I don't regret setting bombs; I feel we didn't do enough."

It was at Ayers' house that Obama's state Senate candidacy was launched in 1995; Obama continued to serve on a nonprofit board with Ayers after the Times article appeared.

What a tragic farce, Bush and Cheney are patriotic because they wear flag pins on their lapels. But when it comes to benefits for those soldiers and marines, some of whom are in their third or fourth tours of duty, Bush and Cheney tell them to f^&*-off. Education benefits for our heroes, hell no. Disability benefits for our heroes, how about 10%.
But, hey, don't question our loyalty because we wear flag pins on our lapels. It's enough to make you want to puke!

This was the worst. It was like the National Enquirer of debates. Nothing of any real substance, just a hit job (as Bill Clinton would put it) by the Clinton's buddy ( Stephanoupolis, however you spell it).

This hit job on Obama is nothing. This is just the beginning.

If any of his supporters think that corporations would just let this happen, think again. If you think it is anything less than extraordinary that a candidate of the people has survived and is standing tall at this point of the election cycle, you are naïve. And Obama knows that. And he has said that.

But the attacks will come not just from the corporations and corporatists, they will come from the entire military industrial complex, from all their lobbyists, and all their stooges in the media, TV and radio, who would fan the flames of bigotry and racism and hatred, hoping that the flames would engulf him and burn him down before he even gets the chance to confront McCain in the general election.

And, right now, those forces have an ally in the mighty Clinton political machinery.

If you want a candidate of the people to win, if you want your country back, it is not going to come easily. You are going to have to fight for it. You will have to support Obama like you have never supported a candidate before – with money, by fund raising, by educating neighbors, by organizing support groups.

This is an opportunity of a lifetime. You miss it this time, who knows when you would ever come this close.

It is not about Obama the man. It is about taking our country back. Let’s go do it.

I fear that some people will be very disappointed when Obama becomes president. Some people seem to think he'll be the savior of the republic. According to his voting record, he's very conservative. He also talks about sharing the table with conservatives, which is very naive. And of course the Republican slime machine will do everything it can to destroy him, just as it did to Bill Clinton.

I prefer Obama over Hillary, but things won't get tremendously better with Obama as president. I'm not sure it's really taking our country back.

Some people will be disappointed, but not the realistic ones. Obama is not a magician. He is a leader with the right approach. To what extent he would succeed would largely depend on us, all Americans.

But don't let the fear of disappointment slow you down. That's not how we put a man on the moon. It was by wanting to do great things, not by being afraid of disappointment and failure.

According to others, he's the "most liberal senator", so it depends on who's making the judgments. Electing someone without crippling ties to special interests who plans to make the government open and transparent, and who will work and talk with leaders around the world to promote peace, sounds like taking our country back to me. He is a forward-looking individual with character who has excellent ideas about how to reach agreement across the aisle.

Bring on the Republican slime machine! I will fight it with every ounce of strength in my body. I don't think Senator Obama is a savior, but I do believe he'll be a friend in the White House, and that's worth fighting for with everything I've got.

I don't know what you think people expect that will doom them to disappointment. I don't expect miracles, just someone who tries to go about things the right way. From what I've seen so far, I'm not disappointed in the least. I can't demand the same passion from you that I feel, but I hope you begin to understand that it's hardly based on naivete and false hopes.

I agree with all that you have said. This is our opportunity to make a difference. Our actions will effect change in our lives and the the lives of those after us. For most of us, this truly is that 'once in a lifetime' chance. It won't be easy and it may get pretty damn unpleasant. But, If we want change and we go into this with our eyes and minds open, if we give our time and our money, it is well within our grasp.

Just wonder why it 's not in your blog or paper about Obama making a fingered gesture while speaking on Hillary. This happened the fallowing date of the Pennsyvannia debate. He was upset probably but not a wise move for a person who will be running for president. Unethical and immoral and immatured act.

It is not worth mentioning because it did not happen. One or two people have tried to bring this up, but were unsuccessful in getting anyone to accept this bit of foolishness. He had a finger on the side of his face briefly -- that is all. If you saw anything else in his actions, I can only suggest that you look within yourself and ask perhaps if you think you see this because that is how you would behave.

By the way, your link does not work anymore than your ridiculous claim. The video in question can be viewed in its entirely right here on HuffPo :
