Gingrich: Left Wing Of The Democratic Party "Admires" American Terrorists

Speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News Friday night, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told the conservative pundit that "the left wing of the Democratic Party, frankly, kind of admires American terrorists." Gingrich then went on to say that "they don't mind at all that Farrakhan is anti-semitic. They shrug off Jeremiah Wright."

I'd appreciate understanding the physiological dynamic of why every little controversy involving a democrat gets pumped up to bursting and beyond. Where as some of the most strident immoral and unethical activities of the Republican's just don't capture the imagination or outrage of enough Americans. Is it the 4th grade emotionalism and anti intellectualism of this country or possibly the dems represent a high road that can more easily be tarnished if too carefully examined. It's almost metaphysical or maybe there's something I'm missing.

It is as if the whole Iran-Contra affair never happened. As if we did not have strong and intimate ties to Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden... all through the GOP. He also conveniently forgets the numerous ties of right-wing terrorists that target women's health clinics and doctors who perform abortion, or those who beat, tortured, terrorized blacks , and still do it to gays. There wasn't a lynching or a church bombing that wasn't tied to a right-wing group... and Timothy McVeigh, was associated with the far right group the National Alliance.

There is no longer any such thing as a Reagan Democrat. Any "Democrat" who still believes that Ronald Reagan was anything other than a terrible president is probably a full-fledged Republican by now. Because of the many references to the Fox cable channel I have spent two hours watching the shows discussed on this site. Have any of you done that? I may not agree with one thing that comes out of Hannity's mouth, but to call him a Nazi is just silly. When did political dialog descend into such an abandonment of actuality? We are going to get slaughtered in November because we will have no credibility with thinking voters.

I heard a rumor that Newt Gingrich, who was adopted by adoptive colonel father at the end of World War Ii was actually a child of the Lebensborn program in which German SS men were coupled with "aryan" looking women who were to produce children for the Reich. It isn't true but it should have been.

They may not want to. Keeping Newt on TV is in their best interest. He represents all that is corrupt in the GOP. He was charged with 84 ethics violations during his term as Speaker. The more he speaks the stronger the Democratic party grows.

I suppose you are right, they do need to reply. But I hope they get Newt to define what he means by terrorist -- I suspect it might be anyone who does not agree with him. He is one of the people responsible for all the meaness in politics and when they reply they need to point this out.

Newspeak version 14 now no longer relies on explicit double think. No longer do common folk have to exercise the sometimes difficult mental gymnastics to think correctly (e.g., Iran is our enemy, Iran has always been our enemy) - we just label them terrorist.
