Gingrich: Left Wing Of The Democratic Party "Admires" American Terrorists

Speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News Friday night, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told the conservative pundit that "the left wing of the Democratic Party, frankly, kind of admires American terrorists." Gingrich then went on to say that "they don't mind at all that Farrakhan is anti-semitic. They shrug off Jeremiah Wright."

Newt never went church much or he would have understood the pulpit hyperbole. I remember when Jerry Falwell was caught in just such a situation around some racial issue. He took refuge in the fact that it was a sermon spoken to his "private" group. Hannity and Gingrich were never on the receiving end of the racism that informs much about Farrakhan and a portion of Wright. But to equate them and others on the American "left" as terrorist sympathizers is a gross distortion and lie. The interesting thing is that Gingrich ducked serving in the military while Wright served honorably as a Marine and Navy corpsman. So, this is a case of the chicken hawk attacking an honorable American who dissents from the chicken's right wing political agenda.
