Former President Bill Clinton, speaking to reporters after his wife's event in Pittsburgh, PA Monday, said that under the republican primary system -- his wife would be ahead by hundreds of delegates.

"I did not actually get the delegates necessary to have a first power of the nomination under the crazy system the democrats have," Clinton said. "If we were under the republican system which is more like the electoral college, she would have a 300 delegate lead ...It's an eternity 'til the general election, an eternity."

If the rules were that only the popular vote count, Obama would be way ahead.

Clearly the party's process for selecting a candidate is faulty. The only successful one in my lifetime has been Clinton.

so you like the rules as long as a Clinton wins by them???

Didn't Bill win under the party's process for selecting a candidate! If it was so successful when Bill won, and if it's the same party process, then what makes it faulty now? Because it's not working for Hillary? Maybe that's because the candidate is faulty ... not the process!

Bill Clinton was lucky. He would have lost the general election if Ross Perot had not split the vote. Clinton was not a strong candidate.

If the rules were that only people under 30 could vote, Obama would have this thing wrapped up.

There are a lot of over-30 people who support Obama, and by the way, don't put down the younger voters.

Unfortunately, Penn is going to give her another "victory" (if you can call it that)... and we will be tortured to listen to her and Slick WIlly a while longer... but hopefully, NC and IN will put the nail in her coffin...

I think I might throw a party the day she gives her concession speech!

Like all her other consession speaches after she loses? Which one would you choose?

a) Pretending that it's a victory
b) Claiming that it was a fluke and that the people are just zealots, blacks, unimportant, intellectual elites
c) Pretending it didn't happen
d) Believing that the race is still not over

The only reason Billy Bob mentions this is an attempt to convince the SD that IF Hillary is ahead with "winner-take-all" rules, then the SD should take that in to consideration.

Actually at this point, its difficult to say exact how the race would have went down with Republican Rules since both Hillary and Barrack would have campaigned differently with those rules.

This is actually plan D or is it E as to how Hillary wants to win. I thought they wanted to just toss the whole primary elections in the garbage can and let the SD tell the party who their nominee will be. Isn't that what is was like in 1948?

Oh, those Meanie Caucus states and those Red States that aren't going to go Democratic in the General should NOT count in the nomination fight.

Unfortunately for Bill and Hill, we aren't operating under GOP rules. They talk like they are Republicans sometimes....

Olbermann questioned her about tonight, I don't know about Larry King because I didn't watch all of it. She defended her comments about Iran and Israel. That could be a problem for her in the general election. The GOP will hit her hard on national security if she's the nominee and that comment will be used to "beat her over the head with."

I'm wondering why more people aren't questioning her over that Iran/Isreal crap!!! Its actually quite scary that she feels obligated to throw our overly stretched military into another war where we don't belong...

and you know our military is overstretched when our Army and Marine Corps are now taking people who are convicted felons... this used to almost never happen... now, we will waive them... its sad times for us people... sad times!

Hmmm..... perhaps she should have entered THAT race.

Then she ought to be the VP on the GOP ticket.

God know she's done her best to torch the Democratic Party. She's like 3-day-old fish.

She could be selected as Joe Lieberman's VP once old age or senility remove McCain from office. Joe is not moving over for Hillary. He has that old man's scrotum securely in his grasp and is never letting go until it is lifeless or just permanently away from the seat of power. It is part of Joe's rationale for dumping the Democratic Party - it is his plan to become president and he is not letting a Clinton push him out of his spot.

If Hillary loses the nomination, don't be surprised if you see her buddying up to John McCain! She and Bill have one objective and one objective only ... to get back into the White House! They'll convince McCain and the GOP that a McCain/Hillary ticket is a sure winner: a moderate, wishy-washy conservative sort of to satisfy the conservative base; a moderate, wishy-washy liberal occasionally female Democrat to satisfy the Hillary base; and two white candidates to satisfy those who're afraid of voting for a black man! Who can beat that? And then they'll just wait for McCain to kick the bucket so Hillary can claim the position she believes she's always been entitled to and Bill can be free to do what he does best ... in the Oval Office! And they wouldn't even care whether we call them a Republican or Democrat! What's in a name?

I can't believe more people aren't questioning the fact that Hillary said the umbrella of protection does not only extend to Isreal... that means if Iran were to strike Saudi Arabia, we would go and defend Saudi Arabia???

Whats wrong with her??? She sounds more and more like a BushCo. spin master everyday!!! Just another excuse to go to war!!!

Hillary is cherry-picking---a little of this party, a little of that party, mix it all up and you get, supposedly, the perfect presidential nominee...and president.
In other words, says Hillary, you can have it all!

How is this timely analysis supposed to energize Pennsylvanians to vote for Hillary?

This is the ultimate flip-flop! So, does Bill now believes Democrats should be Republicans or just that it's convenient to call into question a process that served him so well. Bill would thinks the system is fine if Hillary were winning!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:04 PM on 04/21/2008

But since she isn't and since the Clintons tend to blame everyone else when things don't go right for them, they are probably, in some sense, anyway, punishing the party...by talking up the policies of the OTHER party. Just like Hillary talked up McCain, for experience, over Obama. Same pattern.
Bill and Hillary are both emotionally immature enough to be doing that, or so I believe.
