President Bush made a cameo on NBC's Deal or No Deal on Monday to cheer on a U.S. veteran who had done three tours in Iraq (as Howie Mandell pointed out, one of them was involuntary, thanks to Bush's 'stop loss' policy).

Bush thanked the contestant for his service in Iraq, and joked about his own low approval numbers. "I'm thrilled to be on Deal or No Deal' with you tonight," Bush said. "Come to think of it, I'm thrilled to be anywhere with high ratings these days."

Watch it:

A quote from a great American sums up another one of W's inane remarks: "Stupid is as stupid does."

DEFINITELY PRE-RECORDED. What an insincere jerk. Not surpriseg though, after all we are talking about the worst President in U.S. history! Thanks to the soldier, no thanks to the treasonous Bush.

I think we all realize how seriously he takes the job as the "commander guy". Joking about low ratings would be okay if he did ANYTHING positive to try to raise them. What an arse...that is about all I can say. He sees himself as not being responsible for his presidency I think. Complete disregard for everything. He sees himself as an onlooker in this job, doesn't he?

OF COURSE! And shouldn't he to some degree? I mean with Dick pulling the strings. I couldn't bring myself to watch this clip, but figure it's still not as bad about the jokes he made about still trying to find the wmd's under couches, etc. Ugh!

How can this idiot be president? He's so dumb he couldn't compete with grade-schoolers. We are the victims of a coup perpetrated by the SCOTUS, three of whom had KIN working on the Bush election. Impeach Bush and Cheney, but HANG scalia and thomas...

and Sandra Day O'Connor. She was the swing vote and should have known better.

"How can this idiot be president?"

Just look at the American citizenry. Ignorant, apathetic, greedy, cowardly...

Shouldn't Bush be spending his time doing his day job, or something?

Sad as is sounds. We should all be happy Bush is still the president. When Barack's finished battling this battle ax, we'll all realize that this idiot is still around.
McCain will be doing a sad little dance trying to woo and distance his base with Bush reminding us daily of what a disaster the Republicans are.
For once, we can use him to our advantage.

I'm surprised he didn't mention the low IQ rating.

I remember a time when a President of the United States would have thought it undignified and beneath the office to appear on a game show and make flippant jokes, especially in a time of war. And I'm not THAT old.

Bush has taken the office of the presidency down to a new low. The office itself does not get the respect it once did. He has shamed his country.

Laugh if you want to ... but I'm sure Bush got a 2 point bump for that appearance. Well... in the population that watches the show he got a 2 point bump.

Bush got ahead in line for the 'draft dodging' national guard because Poppa was a congressman. Guardsman did not get sent to SE Asia. I wish dummies could understand that. He did not serve his country. He served himself to a cozy position to sit out a war poor guys were conscripted to fight. Cowardly frat boy Bush got out of serving a country that gave a hell of a lot to his family.

Hillary jokes about being busted on the Bosnia story while appearing on Leno.
Bush jokes about his dismal approval rating while appearing on "Deal...".

Birds of a feather.

i think the chimp has a future as a game show host. it's really all he's ever been cut out for. i think i'd rather have howie mandel as the commander in chief.

Without question Bush would dive into freezing water to save a baby. A solid gold baby that is.

totally pathetic, isn't that the show where they get to pick a briefcase with 1 cent or 1 million? - I think Bush picked the one with debt for us.

you're right about Bush. since he comes from 'oil company' family business.. how much worth his family is? by the time he leaves the office, we're still stuck paying high gas prices. he made a good deal for himself and bad deal for us Americans.

Wow, the Shrub can't even handle being live on Deal or No Deal. Not sure why he's worried, 'cause if he pulled out his WMD jokes from the Correspondents Dinner, he'd kill.
