Appearing with a group of college students on Fox News over yesterday, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that a lot of young people "drink the Kool-Aid" of Obama's speeches, prompting the reporter to say "you're suggesting that they're being suckered."

Watch Rendell talk about how youth are responding to Obama, and watch some of the students push back:

guys like Rendell and Harold Ford really make me mad. on lets say Hardball they are much more conciliatory democrats but put them of Fox and forget about it. As far as Fast Eddie specifically talking down to the youth, don't they get that they are trying to sap the spirit of future democrats. I'm afraid these attacks on Obama and the message of hope will drive the young and the young at heart away from politics, but that may be fine for Clinton and her ilk. Perhaps they want a party of insiders and sliced ethnic segments that can be bought off at election time.

I can tell you the most important difference between Obama and Clinton: Obama spoke out against the War as he was running his State Senate Campaign and Clinton was voting for the War as she was looking to run as President in the future.

That is all that needs to be known between these two candidates.

Eddy Rendell has lived so long emeshed with the crap of the past ways of politics he would not know hope or believe life can be different if we all work together. I do believe he is so negative about the potential that we can come together and hela and change our country so he has lost any validity for most. Same old politics is all he knows and all hewants as that is the way of manipulation and control the clinton and rendell are famous for. Can we together change things and make hope a keyword for the kids to live by? Why do we have to try to make things like "the good old days" that really were not? Hillary cannot make it 1990 not can she fix what is wrong in our country and she must stop and let us work to heal.

Obama, mark my words, will be picking Jim Webb or Evan Bayh as his running mate.

He has the afro-american vote, has the youth vote, has the college educated vote, and with Webb or Bayh will be able to decrease McCain's advantage with white men, who will be the swing vote this year.

If it were only kids supporting Obama, maybe you could make the case that there might be so kool-aid drinking going on. But what about he highly-educated demographic that has been going for Obama?

But even so, how dare Rendell insults younger voters, a segment that has never been involved in the political process and for the first time wants to participate. Isn't a good thing that they are enthusiastic about politics again? I guess not if they are not voting for Hillary. We hear all the time that normally, young voters NEVER show up at the polls. Well this time they have in record numbers.

And wouldn't it have been enough for the Clinton camp and supporters to say that she is more experienced? Why accuse me and millions of others of being kool-aid drinkers?

If you ask me, calling somebody a kool-aid drinker is very elitist.

Go ahead and chugalug Obama's kool-aid and repeat Johnstown, when that hope-mongering Jones lead them to eternal condemnation.

Come to think about it, both Jones and his re-incarnate Obama forced fed saps the same "hope-kool-aid drink. Well, we all know how they end up.

I disagree that Rendell's comments might be justified if the voters were only kids. When I think about how high the stakes are in this election, I think "kids" have a more reasons to be worried about their future than a lot of older folks do. These kids are looking at trying to start careers in a bleak economy, not to mention a never ending war where their age group are the ones fighting and dying.

And that's the trouble here...they've never been involved before and don't even REMEMBER past history either! Why is it that none of these posters CARE about what Republicans did to America during the Clinton years?

The answer is simply that they were tuned in to other more important things.. and now, when it really matters...they don't care.

They forget that it's the candidate's responsibility, not the voters, to persuade people to vote FOR him or her.

Obama hasn't persuaded me and he has not done one thing for me in the time he has been a United States Senator.

And I'm not in College either.

If Obama wins the nomination and gets elected and actually DOES SOMETHING, then I will change my mind, but for now all I see is another politician who is full of hot air!

Good job. Keep insulting the next generation of Democrats and turn them into "former Democrats."

The Obama movement is not entirely composed of college kids. $40 million per month is not coming from college students.

In 24 hours Clinton's race will be over and we can stop hearing from her and her supporters.

I hope and pray that the pundits are wrong and the polls are wrong. I simply cannot go another day with the condescending attitudes and the total Bullcrap that the Clinton campaign smears every single day since it became obvious that she lost. Every single day there is another reason to be outraged and insulted. Every single day. I am a middleaged white woman and frankly I implore the people of Pennsylvania to put an end to this farce because she cannot win and she will insure that John McCain is the president if she stays in this race much longer.

Don't fret. The Clintons had a 16 year head start on Obama. No matter how much he spent there, any win for her that is less than 25 points, in light of her last name, is a loss per se. Penn is a pure name recognition state insofar as Hillary is concerned. The voters who vote for her are like my dad, who voted for Hillary because it was the only way he could get around the 22nd Amendment. She was a means to an end, the end being getting Bill back. Almost every man who supports her, common sense tells us, is supporting her for that reason. She has done NOTHING on her own that qualifies her to be prez. And Rendell has proven himself to be a tool time and again. Xcrunner77 said it best: $40-55 million per month is NOT coming from college kids.

The money is the amazing thing. How the hell do they think the superdelegates will pick a losing candidate in the red who will lose all the new voters that Obama has brought in? Ain't gonna happen but I"m still sick of Hillary and every single one of her freakin surrogates. Please Pennsylvania, show them you are smarter then they think you are and send working class Hillary back to her mansion in Westchester.

So....is that why so many senators, representatives, governors, and other superdelegates have endorsed OBama? Because they are drinking kool-aid?

How insulting.

Obama has really great minds on his team, a focus that Clinton lacks, true leadership with his campaign staff, and an ability to make Democrats want to get involved like never before.

How many of you Hillary supporters have sent in a contribution? I bet most Obama supporters on this site have sent in money to the OBama campaign. I have.

It is no accident that the old and uneducated are buying Hillary's line while those whose minds have not yet shriveled up are backing OBama.

Yes AZDemocrat500, I'm afraid so, of course most of them have never worked on a campaign in their lives either!

It's fine to have opinions and it's great that they are aware but when you have been in school all your life, you are just a wee bit wet behind the ears!:)

All of us were there too, simple fact is that when you are a twenty something you think you have all the answers....wait a few years and you realize you don't, just as I did and everyone else does too!

Apparently all college students have become the children of wealthy parents, at least according to AZDemocrat. Often our older generation fails to realize that many of us work just as hard, if not harder, than many of them. Not only do we go to school full time, but many of us work part time or even full time jobs. Many of us pay our own tuition, rent, food costs, and all other every day expenses. Does this sound like a demographic that wouldn't have a vested interest in actually researching a politician?

I understand that many of you were there too, but maybe now you are too senile to remember how you felt politically in your younger years. Or maybe its your difficulties hearing that is the problem. The insults and name calling go both ways.

Passion for politics is not a bad thing, and I'm sick of people saying that because our generation is interested that we are "drinking the kool aid."

So, AZDem ... what puts food on the table. Pre-emptive war? A failing dollar? A bankrupt economy? Outsourced jobs? Lay-offs? Recession? Increasing gas and food costs? You'd better hope Obama wins if you want to continue to eat. The kids know it too. But, good try.

This is condescending AND elitist. I work at a university and a large number of these students are working their way through school. I also worked my way through school. I was helped by Pell grants, because my parents didn't have enough money to pay my way, but I had to work to pay rent and bills. Tuition costs haven't gotten any lower (the opposite, in fact) and the number of grants available has decreased (thanks Republican congress). This means an even larger proportion of these "kids" are going to be holding down jobs, paying rent and bills, and juggling schoolwork.

I drank the cool aid...and then woke up. I realized that Sen. Obama has more legislative experience than Clinton, he was able to pass healthcare in his home state of Illinois, he passed the most sweeping Ethics Reform Bill through congress in the modern era, worked on immigration reform, spent several years of his life working with church organizations in his community to help get people jobs, spoke out against the war in Iraq in 2003 before the illegal invasion began, helped to elect Democrats in the 2006 election cycle, wrote two best selling books, won a grammy, gave more than a handful of speeches that awed even Republicans, refused to take lobbyist money, outmaneuvered a supposed democrat heavyweight for the nomination. Wow! I must have been tricked into believing Sen. Obama was so un-qualified. I guess elitism doesn't include experience in Washington Knitting circles like the Family, and instead applied to people who have broader interests and outside the belt way experience. Who would believe that to run for President you only need to be older than 35 and born in America.
