Rendell Says College Kids "Drink The Kool-Aid" Of Obama Speeches

Appearing with a group of college students on Fox News over yesterday, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that a lot of young people "drink the Kool-Aid" of Obama's speeches, prompting the reporter to say "you're suggesting that they're being suckered."

I'm a middle aged independent white guy, Ed. And I don't drink anyones kool aid. I don't think Obama can deliver everything he promised, but hes a hellofalot better than Hillary. Her say anything, do anything, whine about the media, change the rules, lie about what everyone said, lie about her experience, disaster of a campaign has convinced me not to vote for Hillary under any circumstances. I'd vote for Nader first and I think he's a nut job. But at least hes an honest nut job. Thankfully there is Obama.

I love how the party elders, including the Clintons, are from an era when America's youth stood up and spoke out against an unjust war, discrimination and corrupt politics, yet now that they're boomers they have no tolerance for young America.

The hypocrisy is heartbreaking but the dismissal of our inspired young voters is outrageous. I'm in my 30's, and I supported the Clintons in '92 and '96 and through the impeachment with no regrets, but it's time for new ideas.

I was born into a better world in the 70s thanks to activism of the young boomers. It saddens me that some of them feel that theirs are the only good ideas still around.

Rendell asks what Obama has done? Who cares what he has done or what he hasn't. The real question is what is he going to do for people tomorrow. Hillary seems content on being a time capsule for the 1990's which doesn't mean anything today. Hillary talks about her accomplishments as if she is the only one who can do anything good; kinda sounds elitist to me. If she has been so qualified for so long, why didn't she run in 1992? 1996? 2000? 2004? oh because she was waiting for the moment when she could out run sniper fire and avoid having to earn a nomination and instead claim entitlement. Little did she know, a lanky, black man, with a funny name, would answer the call to leadership out of a sense of urgency for his love of this country and that millions of people support him and his sense of urgency. The Clintons are the biggest con game in town: two for one, one for two, lets destroy the Party and expand our Legacy....

As an Obama supporter, this is the sentiment from the Clinton camp that pisses me off the most. That I am so irrational Obama's oratory has made me swoon. It's so insulting to so many people that if Hillary actually had a chance of getting the nomination she has already poisoned the well of activists and Democrats she needs to beat ol' John McCain.

My sentiments exactly. I have an IQ of 185...believe it or not I can think for myself! I think, believe, feel that Obama has the intelligence, judgement and, most importantly, integrity, to be a better president that Hillary Clinton.

Have to question Rendell's comment at the end of this video that HRC introduced and passed a student loan bill. I just did a search on thomas.gov and could find no such bill. The only thing I could find is a bill (S.1642) introduced by Senator Kennedy. Hillary was a co-sponsor, along with more than a dozen other senators...including Obama. Can anyone find something I missed?

Oh yeah, Rendell told those students that Hillary had just left the campaign for a few days to go home and sign some type of bill for this student loan stuff. He is very sleazy and shady.

Then you should be smart enough to realize that your intellegence is not the issue. The Obama campaign have been manipulating the emotions of many young and often naive young voters. High intelligence doesn't make you any less suseptible to emotional appeals Obama plays on your hopes as well as your guilt - race guilt has been prevelant in the Obama message.

Rendell is ridiculous. Like many elders he can't help but talk down to people, in this case young people. How did someone so unprogressive become governor? Hopefully he will get defeated in the next election. What Rendell, Clinton, and all the elders don't get, is that we can choose whoever we want to for whatever reason we want. Young people have realized that they have power, they can elect a new master, and they can elect someone who represents them. Obama is the leader of a movement, and if you are bedazzled that anyone would support him, you just don't get it. Kinda like being the loser amongst the cool kids. Why doesn't Clinton garner much of the youth vote, because she is ridiculously uncool. Go home to NY Hillary and your Bourgeois existence!
