Tony Snow

Tony Snow is joining CNN as a conservative commentator, the network announced today. Snow, who spent 10 years at Fox News, left his job as White House Press Secretary in September, saying he needed to make more money to support his family.

"In the White House, Tony brought a remarkably human touch to the discussion of public policy, which he will continue to do as part of the Best Political Team on Television," CNN/US President Jon Klein said. "He will contribute a unique breadth of political and journalistic expertise to what is already the most provocative and wide-ranging political analysis on the air."

"I'm delighted to be able to join CNN during the most exciting and unpredictable political year in memory," Snow said. "The big challenge in 2008 is to develop deep, creative and aggressive analysis of both political parties, their candidates and campaigns. I'm eager to get started, since this race is sure to shape American politics for years to come."

Update: The Politico's Michael Calderone spoke wtih Snow, who assured him that he still loves his old friends at Fox News:

"Make no mistake, I love the folks at Fox," Snow told [Calderone] this afternoon, by phone from Spokane, Washington.

"Everybody is going to try and create a Fox and CNN narrative out of this," said Snow, who also mentioned that he "love[s]" Fox News chief Roger Ailes and would "walk over broken glass" for Bill O'Reilly.

Congratulations to CNN for signing Tony Snow! As a "conservative commentator" he will be an excellent addition to their political lineup. He will add much humor, insight, and credibility.

Where's the punchline?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:20 AM on 04/22/2008

Some people actually believe he was fair and balanced. They siad it on TV so it has to be true.

Where's the Progressive for "balance"? Or do they not even pretend that anymore? Just like this morning on MSNBC they had extensive commentary on the PA elections from... a Clinton strategist. Not a word from an Obama strategist. So why does she whine about how unfair the media is to her? Tony Snow is nothing more than a shill and a mouthpiece. What was CNN thinking? Or maybe that's the problem...

I think Cafferty is somewhat to the left. And no one hates Bush more than Lou Dobbs.

Hasn't this motherfuckin', GOP'er, meat puppet died yet?

that's the worst comment I've read yet, anywhere. Hasn't the guy with cancer and a family died yet?

Hitler had a family Bin ladin did too! That does not make him a good person. Tony Snow is covered in he blood of Americas finest, GOOD people who had families themselves. People that he is directly to blame for their deaths. He is accountable for the deaths of thousands of innocent people. To excuse or look the other awy on the hoffible things this jerk has done, because he has cancer? He is a cancer to this country. He is the disease, not the victim. They can burry him today as far as I am concerned and any greif you feel for his "poor family" is misplaced. I feel sorry that they had to share a life with this pathetic evil looser.

The day Tony Snow chose to be a part of the Bush Regime he forfeited any claim he had to human rights. Tony Snow Chose to be a lying mouthpiece for men and women who have been the direct cause of so much suffering in the world. Tony Snow, regardless of whether or not he has a family, is guilty of being complicit in murder. Do you have such great sympathy for those on death row? The world can do without Tony Snow, although, as we've seen, there will always be another motherfuckin', GOP'er, meat puppet to take his place.

Foxification of the news. What is at the end of this path we are on?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:53 AM on 04/22/2008

Snow just loves to Lie. He seems to enjoy bsing the public and basks in the boldness of it all. He lies smoothly and with no shame whatsoever. He can smile while talking about soldiers dying for democracy, he can tell you that the Constitution is irrelevant with a twinkle in his eye. He promises the public never to search his soul or to be honest ... thats a guarantee!

Liars, if pros, have a home at the top in New Amerika. Tony is amongst the best. A snake who would betray any and all for money. We have the most corrupt media heads that money can buy. Beyond Orwellian.

CNN will have to change it's tub thumping slogan from "The BEST political team on television."
to "The BIGGEST propaganda arm of the Republican Party."
CNN used to be a news network, somewhere along the way they turned into the public relations division of the RNC.
I rarely watch it anymore, unless I stumble across a segment where Jack Cafferty is holding forth.
The real journalists, Candy Crowley, Michael Ware and Arwa Damon are pretty much silenced. Christiane Amanpour has been back-burnered. The remaining toadies aren't worth the electricity.
Wolf Blitzer? A beard and an ego.

Last night I heard Anderson Cooper say "well, why aren't questions about his lapel pin good questions?" It was a new low for the 360.

Just what we need, another mouthpiece for the Bush Imperial Presidency. I have already tuned out CNN and I suggest that all of you do the same - if they don't listen to the public outrage over this perhpas they might take notice if their ratings fall. With the likes of that hypocritical, assinine Glenn Beck as well as their one sided reporting, they can now join Faux News as the new "Unfair & Unbalanced" network.

"Crossfire-Duel of the Battling Shills"

See who can grovel the best without saliva running out of the corner of his mouth.
