Tony Snow

Tony Snow is joining CNN as a conservative commentator, the network announced today. Snow, who spent 10 years at Fox News, left his job as White House Press Secretary in September, saying he needed to make more money to support his family.

"In the White House, Tony brought a remarkably human touch to the discussion of public policy, which he will continue to do as part of the Best Political Team on Television," CNN/US President Jon Klein said. "He will contribute a unique breadth of political and journalistic expertise to what is already the most provocative and wide-ranging political analysis on the air."

"I'm delighted to be able to join CNN during the most exciting and unpredictable political year in memory," Snow said. "The big challenge in 2008 is to develop deep, creative and aggressive analysis of both political parties, their candidates and campaigns. I'm eager to get started, since this race is sure to shape American politics for years to come."

Update: The Politico's Michael Calderone spoke wtih Snow, who assured him that he still loves his old friends at Fox News:

"Make no mistake, I love the folks at Fox," Snow told [Calderone] this afternoon, by phone from Spokane, Washington.

"Everybody is going to try and create a Fox and CNN narrative out of this," said Snow, who also mentioned that he "love[s]" Fox News chief Roger Ailes and would "walk over broken glass" for Bill O'Reilly.

Tony Snow Joins CNN as Political Contributor

Snow most recently served as press secretary to President George W. Bush from April 2006 to September 2007. For 10 years beginning in 1996, he appeared on Fox News Channel, hosting Fox News Sunday, Weekend Live with Tony Snow and other programs. From 2003 to 2006, The Tony Snow Show aired on Fox News Radio. Before joining Fox, Snow served as a substitute "From the Right" co-host for CNN's Crossfire.

"In the White House, Tony brought a remarkably human touch to the discussion of public policy, which he will continue to do as part of the Best Political Team on Television," Klein said.

During the 1990s, Snow was a regular guest host for Rush Limbaugh's radio program. He was the writer, correspondent and host of a PBS news special, The New Militant Center, a regular commentator for National Public Radio and a frequent guest on numerous televised news programs. Snow joined the administration of President George H. W. Bush in 1991 and served first as chief speechwriter and then as media affairs adviser.

The Bushies are moving their pawns in key positions for November. First Rove at Fox, now Snow at CNN. Who's MSNBC gonna hire... Alberto "I can't recall" Gonzales?

"Most trusted name in news and information"?

Hmmm. Another eerily familiar statement. Hmmm. Fox ring a bell?

Snow, another unbiased conservative gets employment--from FOX to the White House to CNN.

Well, now I can sleep better at night knowing there is a real professional journalist ready to cover politics and give us the honest truth!

What a farce! More "news" snow jobs!

CNN could save itself a lot of money.
Fire Snow.
Grab some wino off the street and every day introduce him as a political pundit and have him read: "The Republican plan seems to be working and will succeed if given more time. The Democrats don't know what they are talking about and hate America."
Same effect for less money and using fewer words.

Which only goes to show how truly low CNN has fallen. They are now taking Fox News' rejects.

I quite agree ------ instead of being showered with the un-earned financial opportunities these media spots offer this low-life , Snowjob should be issued his bedding for a well-earned lenghty stay in Leavenworth , for his part (chief liar-on-charge) in the crimes of Bushco. I myself have hated this slimeballs' guts ever since he did his character-assasination bit on Princess Di at the exact moment that she lay dying on her deathbed (yes, it happened , on Faux -- look it up). Its ironic (in a disgusting sort of way) that "all" the media (incl. Huffpo) were quick to offer their unqualified pitty on him with his cancer treatments while completely ignoring the "hatchetjob" Show did on Diana during her hour of hell.

To hell with Snow and to hell with anybody that hires or makes life easy for this miserable excuse for a human being.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I suspect this is all a propaganda war on many levels. From the obvious skewing of the news to fit a hidden agenda to the in-your-face selection of news personalities, pundits and so-called experts. It all seems designed to work the masses into a divisive frenzy and reinforce a sense of powerlessness to effect any real change. I further suspect this is why Obama is "Network News Enemy Number One". He represents a movement of the people that the establishment desires to squash and undermine at all costs.

There, I said it... now go ahead and call me a conspiracy theorist...

Obama does represent a movement of the people. At first the press lionized Obama, now they treat him with ferocity. He will overcome and we will overcome with him. The press will catch up last, as they always do.

Tony Snow has "contributed" enough already.

I am going to boycott CNN. Only I am already boycotting CNN.

Snow is a smart cookie and I'd hate to try to argue with him. I think he'd lose some credibility with Fox, and even if he stays at CNN just briefly, it buys him some respectability as a journalist.

Some.

(ok. I'll confess, I used to listen to Limbaugh's show, back when he was halfway interesting, and not a drugged-out creep - like early 90's. Snow was a regular guest host, and for my money, the only one who didn't sound like a klan apologist)

Obama was right when Chris Matthews asked him what made him laugh so far on the trail; Obama said he laughs when he watches cable news. It actually quieted hyper-talker Matthews.

Cable news is most interested in having the Best political team on television, and even more interested in accelerating networks already skyrocketing profits so that they might increase their own already inflated salaries. [Katie Couric: $15mil/year; Stephanopolous: $8mil/year (I think)].

Boycott CNN, MSNBC, FOX, and all other acronyms of propoganda.

He gets ONE of the official titles, plural.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:25 AM on 04/22/2008

Not Stephanopolous (even I have trouble spelling his name), it's Chris Matthew's that makes $8mil/yr. I read it in the New York Times Magazine (so it must be right; right?)
