Chris Delusion

Chris Matthew started off the Pennsylvania primary coverage with a bang tonight. Shortly after 6, seated by co-anchor Keith Olbermann, Matthews called the primary, and thus his coverage tonight, basically moot. "This contest is essentially over," he proclaims to Keith. "Barack Obama is going to win the most elected delegates."

He went on to say of the media, "Trying to keep this game going, we've created the delusion that somehow this race is still open."

Flashback:
Obama sends a thriill up Chris Matthews' leg.

I have never believed that academia had the market cornered on education for I have known too many well educated people with out college degrees. I have always believed there is a tremendous difference between well educated and bright. the difference between Bill and Hillary Clinton is that while Bill is intelligent and well educated, Hillary is merely well educated. So when I heard that the blue collar contingent supported her I never thought of them as stupid, till they in spit of all the facts voted for her. Haven't they checked out her record in western NY, which mirrors in many ways, western PA? I would rather believe they are gullible rather than racist.

Im not sure which is worse being gullible or being racist especially when it has the same effect.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:26 AM on 04/23/2008

PA voters see you as being the gullible ones...we also resent you or the media trying to tell us who to vote for. If the race was truly over, Obama would have sealed the deal months ago. The Obama machine and the media did EVERYTHING they could think of to try to paint Obama as the heir apparent. We are not stupid or racist, we just read the fine print before signing on the dotted line. Our votes matter just as much as yours do and your comments only serve to make you sound out of touch and elitist. Attacking our intelligence will only serve to divide the party further. The hateful and mean Obama posters are indicitive of the true nature of Obama's campaign. We personally experienced his attempt at saturating our local media market with Rovian adds and mailers. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing...and our decision to vote against him was based on his judgement and character.

We have the highest corporate taxes in the world. Maybe if taxes were lower then corporations wouldn't be running to China. We should be giving them an incentive to stay.

Don't kid yourself (even though you already have). The corporations already GET huge tax breaks and they STILL ship jobs overseas.

After that NYT cover on Matthews, He shouldn't even be offering any commentary on anything...let alone this campaign. Matthews has been humiliated, and spanked by Hillary and Bill for months now, and he is apparently equally reviled by most people at NBC. He is also considered a joke by the majority of people who do or don't watch his inanae show. Matthews is like a fat, insecure clown. He can't stand to be criticized, and he can't produce a decent argument to save his life. He is also so blatantly pro-Obmama and anti-Clitnon, that for him to continue to deny it, is just laugable. Matthews needs to face the fact that he is no Russert, and no Brokaw...he is a half-assed, biased, political pundit, hypocrite and opportunist, who wouldn't know politics if it kicked his giant ass. This guy needs to shut up, get over himself, and realize that NOBODY cares what he thinks. It's going to be great when Hillary wins the nomination, and Matthews is left trying to explain how it is that the Clintons have humiliated him...YET AGAIN:)

He'll vote for McCain. He wants to keep his tax cut to the rich. You could tell that was all Charlie Gibson was thinking about, too. All broadcasters make over a million, where do you think their loyalty will stay? If you answered their Mutual Fund, you're probably "Right."

Poor fat-boy...he just can't deal with reality. Hillary keeps humiliating his fat butt, and the rest of the morons at NBC/MSNBC, including Kieth Olbermonkey. It's going to be great when Hillary wins the nomination, and Matthews is finally outed as the sad, overinflated, overhyped, joke of a pundit everyone knows he really is.

Pucker up fat-boy:)

We lost by 8.5%. This is a big improvement from the 12% that we lost in Ohio. We have clearly cut into Clinton's core constituency. We will do even better in Indiana.

You lost, so far, by 9.3% with 99.5% of the vote total in. The site you listed is not current. Ironic that it is the state site of Pennsylvania.

You lost by 10.29% in Ohio.

Look it up.

Chris Matthews on Clinton's PA win: "Trying to keep this game going, we've created the delusion that somehow this race is still open." Isn't that rich? Had he not been listening to the "expert" Chuck Todd? So when exactly did Matthews first experience this realization/pang of guilt? Too bad he didn't get it until after the polls closed tonight, AFTER! MSNBC and Olbermann changed the Countdown format to provide 1/2 hour of free and virtually unchallenged advertising for Clinton last night, on the eve of the PA primary, AFTER! Clinton's additional free advertising with Larry King on CNN last night. The only place I found anything other than a few seconds of Obama on cable last night was his 6 minutes with Jon Stewart on the Daily Show. By that point, it was hard to laugh along with Obama and Stewart, knowing that Matthews, Olbermann, and all the rest of the CNN/MSNBC corporate-owned media puppets had clearly decided "to hell with reality, the show must go on!" Last night was the final straw for me. Matthews, Olbermann, and their corporate media cronies are no longer welcome on my TV screen.

It was Obamas CHOICE not to appear on TV in the final days....he was asked but had "scheduling" conflicts....in other words...."no more hard questions, please"

I was watching their coverage of this PA primary and i don't think i have ever seen a more utterly, shamelessly biased coverage of election ever! and i mean NEVER. i doubt the joke they put up last night can ever be replicated in terms of biasness ever.. if anyone else watched it will know what i'm talking about. at one point i just had to stop watching it, it was becoming impossible.

Actually, it was nauseating. I had stopped watching MSNBC a few months ago, but was curious to see how they were dealing with the PA primary tonight, so I tuned in. It was unbelievable. I switched to CNN, and I must give them credit for at amjuch more credible and balanced view of both the candidates, the result of the primaries, and the impact of the results.

Looking forward to another couple of weeks of coverage of gaffes in the election. Screw the issues.

I thought this was supposed to be an important election. I thought our nation was in trouble. Guess not the cable news stations think gaffes are more important.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:10 AM on 04/23/2008

How many months do you need to hear the issues. Look them up and see what they stand for. Did you think our nation was really in trouble or did you just read a bumper sticker?

I have no idea what to think about Chris Matthews. He is one of the most illogical, inconsistent chameleon ever. One minute I am listening to him as if he is a sane and logical person and the next he carries me into some idiotic place somewhere. He makes some of the most nonsensical statements you will ever hear. Right after Sen.Obama made his so-beautiful speech this evening he comes with some BS comment that was totally of the mark. I am boycotting Cable News (with the exception of Keith).

Here is another tidbit as well, and I hate to say to Hillary supporters. If she gets the nomination she wont be able to win the General election. People will feel, not just Obama supporters that it was taken from him and you can rest assure that they will not come out in the GE to vote. They may disenfranchise their vote for good. So if she does get the nod from the LEGION of SuperDel's they will have to play it very carefully. very carefully...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:25 AM on 04/23/2008

I agree with this. But I think the true reason she won't win is because of Bill. He's not doing very well in tnis campaign. Yesterday he got into another scrape with a reporter after making a fool of himself on radio Sunday by claiming that Obama had pulled the race card on him. I think he's lost touch. Americans have upgraded their bullshit detectors and when he starts speaking they know the truth is not in him.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:35 AM on 04/23/2008

You are supposed to blame bill for her loss for I believe it's the plan. The Clintons are playing their bad/good cop for when she loses, she can dump bill, and run again in 2012. Bill has been very important to her campaign but in 2012 he can replace Penn, behind the scene. While I don't like Bill Clinton he is the reason she has gotten this far. She wouldn't even be in the senate without HIS name recognition and those pardons.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:13 AM on 04/23/2008

Can someone please tell me why this is the BILL and HILLARY campaign. She is running not him, but you'd think it was a team.

how incitiful... I guess the fact thate every poll and many many by now have shown , it's her supporters around 30% will vote McCain while only 10% of his will... if their candidate does not get nominated.

But carry on , tells how blacks be hurt about obama is the only game in town.

I hate to tell you but Hillary has the core voters of the Democratic party on her side. If we lose the Obama fans it does not matter they only vote when he is on the ticket. Black voters will return to Bill and Hillary when they realize that Obama cannot deliver for them.

Clinton supporters are just taking the lead from Hillary. They are lying. They will come around unless they actually don't care about the war, the economy and the courts. In that case they will vote out of vengeance.

As a black man, and I am sure I represent the view of the majority. If Hillary steals the election then I am staying home, or voting Nader. If Hillary wins cleanly then I';; happily vote for her.
I think it is very stupid of you to imagine that the majority of black people who have steadfastly supported the democatic party would just forget it in a hurry if the election is stolen by the establishment. We will support the democratically elected candidate and if Hillary steals it...well...Mcain 08, I'll vote when the white establishment shows a little more respect to us.
