Chris Delusion

Chris Matthew started off the Pennsylvania primary coverage with a bang tonight. Shortly after 6, seated by co-anchor Keith Olbermann, Matthews called the primary, and thus his coverage tonight, basically moot. "This contest is essentially over," he proclaims to Keith. "Barack Obama is going to win the most elected delegates."

He went on to say of the media, "Trying to keep this game going, we've created the delusion that somehow this race is still open."

Watch:

Flashback:
Obama sends a thriill up Chris Matthews' leg.

Obama has no foreign policy experience and very little experience in anything else. He is almost the most junior Senator on the floor of the U.S. Senate. How did he get to where he is? The media has been relentlessly pushing him forward. Why? He will represent corporate America best. Corporate America owns the media and the media does what it is told. If the choice is between McCain and Obama, there really is no way for the common man to come out ahead. The top 1% has hood winked the rest of us, again.

Cheney and Rumsfeld had about a bazillion years of foreign policy experience between them. Fat lot of good that did us.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that he's black.

So your argument is that the MSM is all for him because he's black???

Or dodge her way out of hell. You know, she's got me half-convinced she could do that.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:14 AM on 04/23/2008

If that's true, sir, then why has Obama raised more money from new, individual donors (in $25 increments) than any candidate in history? Surely you can't attribute that kind of giving to a biased media? Well, perhaps YOU can but that doesn't make it true. Ultimately Obama has struck a chord with people who are tired of the same Washington politics and have backed up their tiredness with their purses and wallets. The most junior Senator on the floor of the U.S. Senate? No foreign policy experience? When Gov. Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, he had NO experience on the floor of the U.S. Senate and NO foreign policy experience. Before 2000 Hillary had none of both, her vicarious "leadership" on foreign policy while the first lady notwithstanding. Who'll represent corporate America best? Perhaps it's the candidate who said that lobbyists are people, too (Clinton). Also, how can you annoint Hillary as the champion of the common man when she and Bill made $109 million over 7 years? I don't know ANYBODY that common! The lies and deceptions eventually come back to bite the ones telling them, don't they?

That is, quite simply, insane.l Aren't you paying attention to just who John McCain is and the stunts he has pulled all his fuck-up life? (One can be a war hero and still be a fuck-up.)

An obvious truth sounds almost like wisdom from the likes of Chris Matthews, but if one dispassionately pauses to look at the REAL numbers in this campaign,(and not ignore their truth), then one could easily respond to Chris' near-wisdom with a big, fat, eye rolling, DUH!

Matthews now ranting about Obama not addressing the right issues in Pa.....Andrea Mitchell still waiting around to be the first one to report of the Clinton demise,,,,Russert lying about the Clintons changing the rules....HA!!

I guess Super Delegate Casey will be voting for Hillary, right? "The will of the people," and all that, right?

"District"! Senators have districts? By "the will of the people" I assume you mean only the right people.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:42 PM on 04/22/2008

Wrong. The argument Obama supporters have made is that all superdelegates should vote according to the NATIONAL popular vote, not by individual jurisdictions. This tripe narrative that the superdelegates should be bound by local, not national popular was created by the very desperate (and perennially broke) Hillary. What is the difference, you ask? Well, most of Hillary superdelegates are DNC establishment insiders who are accountable to no one (just like she and Bill like it). Obama has a majority of the superdels that are elected, a.k.a. accountable. Her argument is therefore quite convenient because her bought-and-paid-for party shills are not bound by this formula. BTW, NY Damien, are you an idiot? I am not aware of Senator Casey's "district."

There's no surprise here. This is just the beginning of the media's woulda-shoulda-coulda campaign. You know, the one where they look back at their own bull and say "yeah that's right, she never really had a chance, and maybe we should have said so a lot earlier." The only question that reamains is whether Obama will have been too damaged by the process by the time all the other pundits join the Chris Matthews chorus, or will he have made more lemon Koolaid out ot the lemons thrown his way,....as has been his pattern so far.

There is a deeper issue here and that is for the Democrat Party to identify and publicly humiliate those Democrats who have actually been Republican moles from the Get-Go. These people must be identified and Purged from the Party. I suggest a series of trials conducted by the Leaders of the Party.

LOL! Crow all you want. It's clear Hillary didn't match the MINIMUM bar she needs to win, which is 60% in PA and ALL the remaining contests. We'll have to redo the calculations on the superdelegates remaining after OBAMA announces those that are newly supporting him tonight.

Obama did exactly what he said he hoped to do in PA, which is to narrow the lead here from 26% in Clinton's favor to hold the contest to within 10%. PA was Hillary's strongest remaining state. What do you want to bet Obama wins North Carolina by 20+%?

"Your little boy" is going to be your President, dork.

I just saw Rachel, David Gregory, Gene Robinson, say the dumbest thing tonight. Their new argument is that Obama couldn't win among DEMOCRATS in Penn, but that doesn't mean he can't win against McCain.

Pat Buchanana sat there dumbfounded. WHO WOULd hAVE THOUGHT THAT PAT BUCHANAN WOULD BE MAKING THE MOST SEnse!!!!!!!!!!!

Newsflash Gene, Rachel, David, STOP MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELVES. I think that has got to be the stupidest thing that dopes said on that network since New Hampshire.

Too funny.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:43 PM on 04/22/2008

I just saw that too. You think that is evidence of Pat's intelligence? Pat called Rachel a Marxist for saying that the act of registered democrats picking between two democratic candidates does not necessarily mean that said registered democrats would never, as a rule, vote for the democratic candidate for whom they didn't cast their vote. So Pat called her a Marxist, and Dr. Maddow looked at him like the idiot he is. He also said that Obama's campaign, in spite of the MATH, is clearly over because even though he is a black man who waltzed into Pennsylvania and turned a 33% lead into a 6 point win for a woman who bears the last name Clinton and who had a 16 year head start on him in Pennsylvania, the fact that he didn't "win," (as though we have such a concept in democratic nominating contests, which we don't) is clearly evidence of his impending demise. Looks like the Clinton demographic, i.e. High School drop outs, is out in force tonight.

So your statement is that if Barack would win, everything is fine, but if Hillary takes Philadelphia, it is the news folks at work. Hmmm. Whichever Democrat wins the nomination I shall gladly give, work and vote for them to get rid of the supporters of this killing machine we have in the White House now. A vote for McCain, in his own words, means that we like the killing machine in Iraq to continue. Frankly, that idea nauseates me. McCain talks about being the straight talker, calls his wife despicable names in public, sucks itr up to Bush whose poll numbers are getting to be even worse than Truman's, and anyone think he is the guy to vote for? McCain a few years back may have been the straight talker. Right now he is the suck it up to the Bush crowd. No thanks to him. And I used to be a Republican. Further more, I intend to work and give and support any Democrat running up and down the ticket so we can march these war criminals in the White House over to the Hague for a trial so we can tell the world Americans DO NOT put up with torturers and renegade, rogue behavior. Right now, my mantra is "Anyone but a Republican".
