Hillary Clinton

International Herald Tribune:

As Pennsylvania voters cast their ballots in Tuesday's Democratic primary, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and her advisers were already preparing for an all-out battle through the last nomination contests in early June, though many in her camp agree that she needs victories, not only in Pennsylvania, but also in Indiana in two weeks.

Clinton advisers were predicting a victory over Senator Barack Obama in Pennsylvania, though a narrow one. Indeed, two associates of Clinton said she was taking nothing for granted, and they even predicted that she would end her campaign if she were to lose this primary.

What is this "next win" mess. She needs to win every remaining primary it's ludicrous this pick-n-choose stuff. If she really wanted to prove herself then she needs to win North Carolina and Indiana. Winning where you're expected to win is not a VICTORY-it's a win.

You're absolutely right. I often wonder why the MSM is so dismissive of NC, where Obama has a healthy lead, but treat PA as a significant loss for Obama when Clinton had a healthy lead and failed to maintain it. I'll bet that if Obama wins NC by anything less than 20 points, all we're going to be hearing about is how Clinton ate into his support. Watch.

and what in the hell is the goal other than to kill the democratic party? She can't win mathematically, and if she excludes a win in NC as you point out - that just sets the goal post that much further away, so what's the point? The DINO needs to go and sing duets with John McSame on the GOP side -
Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran. Hillary - traitor to her own party.... doing the "screw em" dance again.

Here are the reasons Obama is going to lose in Nov. Obama is disenfranchising the Florida/Michigan voters by not allowing their votes to count. Obama wants to play by the rules of the democratic party and that’s fine by me except he is going to need those voters in November, plus when the super delegates vote Hillary and make her the winner he will be the first to cry foul, (but those are the rules…lol). The media can’t protect him any longer from his dirty laundry and it would be aired at the worst time close to the general elections, which makes it stick in the voters mind…ouch. By the way its Obama’’s dirty laundry so its not Hillary’s fault that its aired its Obama’s fault for having it. The repugs would swiftboat Obama it would be easier then when they did Kerry.

Florida and Michigan will only hurt Obama if Hillary's supporters keep lying about it.

Indiana is must win? EVERY state is must win for Hillary, and must win by HUGE margins! DO THE MATH! I'm sick of this crap where Hillary apparently only has to win small victories every once in a while in order to remain viable in the mind of the media, even though the math hasn't changed, she absolutely 100% cannot win!!:

Hillary is right on the mark. Better hold on because Barack has reached his high water mark.

Democrats: Hold on and take note: Obama CANNOT win in November Get it???

The Democrats better get their act together and look at the real states that matter in the General -
CLINTON wins in those states - and Obama will NEVER take those -

Super Delegates: You were put here for a reason. No totals matter - It is only "who can win?" (Clinton) Vote your concience and vote for the only one that can win in November - Clinton.

If Barack can't win all the big states with Democrats, how can anyone with a brain even think - he can win once 50% of Republicans join in the voting. He will be trounced.

(I do think she should at least ask him to be VP - even if he doesn't take it -
but I'd rather see someone like Gen Wesley Clark.)

PS: Seat the Michigan and Florida Delegates. Or lose the November election.

Hillary can not win the general. It is a fact.

Since Franklin Roosevelt, no Democrat has won the White House without the loyal support of the African American community.

*sigh* think blogger think.

"Hillary is right on the mark. Better hold on because Barack has reached his high water mark."

how? 70% of the new democratic voters voted for him.

"Democrats: Hold on and take note: Obama CANNOT win in November Get it???"

why not?!? whats your rationale? Penn and ohio? places that her base has the majority? But if he wins a state where his base is bigger, obama supporters saying what your saying would be wrong???

eventhough their combine vote total is 3 times that of the republicans? Are you saying he will get 0% of her votes? and if she gets 0% of his votes could she win penn and ohio? the answer is no if you didnt know that.

the primary is the primary. what we look at is the amount of vote turn out and who wins the contest. To pol NOVEMBER and say... see he wont win or SEEE she won Penn thus that means obama wont win Penn against mccain or that even though she won Penn she will win it automatically against Mccain is retarded

You think the 18-35 yr olds remember the clinton scandals? Do you think that clintons dont have their Rezko *hsu + more*; ayers *two pardon weathermen + countless others*, Wright *the family*
+ whitewater, etc etc etc.. you must be out your mind.

The Big State like California and New York are Deep Blue State and in the General Election Obama would win those states.

To think Obama cannot win is beyond short-sighted, it's suicide. Clinton cannot him catch in States Won, Pledged Delegates, the Popular vote and money raised. Its just that simple.

Plus Hillary, with her version of Bomb, Bomb, Bomb. Bomb, Bomb Iran has proven this is very little daylight between her and McCain.

The General is already lost. Hillary has given the party an unstable and unshakeable affliction. So, what's your point. The matter at hand is fighting the war against the Clintons and all they now stand for.

So I guess that NC has been decided. Why isn't it as important for Hillary to win there? Could it be that the demographics are just not there for her. Why then would not that point to her unelectability? She can't close the deal in NC and then there is that pesky math business again.

I just don't understand how anyone can percieve that hillary has a chance at the race? She is still so far behind she would have to win 100% to make a difference in ALL of the next primaries. This only continues to take away from the chance to heal and get together for the republican MAC fight with Barack. And the superdelegates go on sitting on the fence except for the OK gov. This farce is just supported now more by those who think she can win the 100% and convince the left over supers that she is electable? Sad we the citizens who are dems cannont stop this now as across the nation we are tired of the chance to win the white house slipping away.

Much has been already discussed about Barack Obama’s disturbing associations with
a domestic terrorist (Ayers), to a prominent Palestinian advocate of suicide bombings
(Khalidi), a corrupt Iraqi billionaire (Auchi), a sleazy personal fundraiser and
mafioso (Rezko), and to his own genocidal maniac of a cousin from Kenya (Odinga),
for whom Obama led a “positive” campaign effort to achieve his “election” a few
years back. As many of us know, Obama’s camp has recently taken a defensive stance
and have dedicated countless hours to spread the word around the internet that these
issues are “irrelevant” to a Presidential campaign and that bringing them up are
thus a full exemplification of “dirty politics”.

Your headline that Hillary's next "must win" state is Indiana is all wrong. Hillary's next "must win" state is North Carolina, Indiana and all of the remaining contests. Why should HuffPo focus solely on Indiana when North Carolina has more pledged delegates and popular vote at stake? Is it because Obama is expected to win in North Carolina? The fact is, Hillary is behind in total delegates, pledged delegates, states won and popular vote. Given that Hillary is losing, given that she is trying to change the hearts and minds of superdelegates so they can invalidate all of the votes of those of us who stood in long lines to cast our ballots to choose our candidate to represent our party, given that she is trying to render an entire primary season moot, Hillary needs to win all of the contests including those she is not expected to win.

Up until last fall, Hillary was the "presumptive" nominee and she blew it. Obama "closed the deal" in the February contests following Super Tuesday. Hillary does not deserve a free pass on her so called executive experience when it is clearly evident that she has none, that she cannot manage her own campaign, she has made terrible personnel appointments, she can't control her power hungry and money grubbing husband, and she cannot not manage her own money.

Hillary wasn't ready on day one of her own campaign, and her empty words can't mask her woeful shortcomings as an executive or leader.

Senator Clinton's margin of victory is only 8.56% with 99.35% of the precincts reporting. Check the facts on the official PA election site. http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/

Indiana is an extension of Kentucky with a smiggin of Chicago in the north. It's fantasy to believe Clinton would not win Indiana by anything other than a landslide. It's not a race.

Your assertion is unfortunately not true. Indiana is not at all an extension of Kentucky. While in the far south, Evansville and New Albany that might be true. That is not true for the rest of the state. Sorry that dog doesn't hunt here.

What state are you talking about?

Not only Evansville and New Albany, but Terre Haute, surrounding Indianapolis, Lafayette, Muncie, and Fort Wayne...all Kentucky. Chicago pokes through at Gary at the very tip.

People were surprised when I said OH would slam Obama. You are going to see record turnout...especially among whites determined to stop Obama. Trust me.

As a Texan who went through the onslaught and excitement of this stage in the game, I'm totally excited for Indiana and NC who are the lucky ones to be next in line. When the Hillary-Obama show goes through your states, you will be so invigorated with a new conviction for our country, it is a wonderful opportunity. I encourage you all to go out to every possible event from both sides. See them all in person, touch them, and it will change you. The future of our country is now in your hands, make the right choice following the lead of TX, OH and PA!

Obama is not loosing- face up to it- He has had a thumping setback in Pennsylvania. That is as far as it goes. Unless you want to overturn every reasonable metric in the book. But of course that is the Clinton way. Sacrifice your own child on the altar for a vote.

"We can be a party that says and does whatever it takes to win the next election......................
Or we can be the party that doesn’t just focus on how to win but why we should."
-Sen. Barack Obama 4/23/08

I'm going to follow my pick for Democratic Presidential candidate here and congratulate the Hillary Clinton supporters for the win in PA. And now it's on to NC and Indiana. I've always said that I'm not against Hillary, I just like Barack better. No need for name calling and the like on this board. For me, the most important thing is that we change DC in November and keep the Republicans from retaking the
White House. It's also important that we help the Dems that are running down ticket for Congressional offices. I honestly believe that either Sen. Clinton on Sen. Obama would make good presidents.
