Colbert Responds To Clinton/Obama 'Copycat' Fight

Last week, after both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama appeared on the Colbert Report, a spat broke out between aides to the campaigns:

"I can't believe it -- he's such a copycat," fumed a person close to Clinton, telling Newsday that the candidate herself said was surprised by Obama's Colbert Nation invasion.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton says his boss was simply taking the show up on its repeated requests that he appear - and that the producers had suggested the Thursday time slot. (Colbert's spokeswoman didn't return calls for comment.) "I'm not surprised the Clinton campaign attacking us for going on the Colbert Report -- since their campaign is 100% negative," Burton said. "But I do have to say this is about the lamest attack they've come up with so far."

On Tuesday, Stephen Colbert played referee, judging which candidate was the bigger copycat. Watch it:

Obama has been Switboating Hillary...since last October's MSNBC debate when he took Psychological Abusers Chris Mathews/Tim Russert's challange to attack HIllary as they gave him (and Edwards) 1990s Republican Talking Points to do it with.

That debate ended w/Mathews/Russert trashing Social Security as a Ponzy scheme not mentioning that Bush had just spent $1.5 Trillion of the SS SURPLUS.

Then when the Electorate was waking up Edward made hundreds of ads on GE-TV: "Some si all we need is a Demcorat in the White House. That's a LAA."

Obama has been conducting a frontal assault equating Hillary with verman in the White House, praising Republicans and Reagan ("a trojectory we were ready for")

He's been using Republican PR Frank Lunz's model: "It's not what you say but what people hear" Which should instead be called: "It's what you imply and who you implicate with lies."

Has audacity playing the Race card, colaboration with the Main St. Media...that President who appologized for slavery and moved his office to125th st. in Harlem when leaving the White House, after bing hunted down by the Republicans.

Obama prevented revote in Florida and Michigan while claiming to be Unida not a divida. We had this kind of psychological abuse for 8 years...and longer. As evidenced by the damage.

I too watch Colbert and Jon Stewart, it is a good way to find out what is actually going on. I am white, Catholic and 70 years old drawing social security. Now work as a volunteer in the social services field at a child abuse center. I support Obama over Hillary because he has the wisdom to make the right decisions and will unite the entire country. His Cabinet choices will be wise and Hillary's recent statements on Iran worries me very much. She is too polarizing to be the nominee. also, has anyone put the math to her answers or should I say solutions to the problems we face? Obama has a much better approach to saving the social security system and the many other problems our Nation faces.

We are in desperate need of a change from the Bush policies and I do not see Hillary able to do this.
Bill Clinton was a good President but Hillary is not Bill and never will be.

These are my feelings and what I have observed as I do stay very much in touch with all the political news. Obama is not a Quitter either and he will fight for all of us. He is honest and actually knows the only way the people can change Washington is by the voices of the people and from the ground up as the top will never change unless forced to change by the people speaking out in unison!

The only groups Obama is going to unite are the Robots and the Zombies. They will join forces and take over the Earth if John McCain is not elected president. Here is something for the Obama supporters and the Hillary supporters that say they wont vote for the other if their candidate doesn't get the nomination. John Mccain is in this war with Iraq indefinitely. There is a prevailing thought that he might, if nominated engage in war with Iran. Our armed forces are already strained beyond measure. If we proceed over in Iraq for much longer with out some sensible relief....scratch that...to stay over in Iraq at the rate we are now is unsustainable. Which means in order to successfully complete the mission that Mccain wants we will have to implement a draft. Look, we are at war and the country has been asked to sacrifice nothing so we have this ho hummness over the war. The threat of nuclear retaliation (MADD) was a pretty effective deterrent for both sides during the Cold War. And that meant making it clear that we would retaliate if attacked. In fact, JFK declared that any missile attack on any country in our hemisphere would be viewed as a direct attack by the Soviet Union. That got Nicky K's attention, and both sides backed away from the abyss.

Sometimes you have to talk tough, or as Barry would say, leave all options on the table. I assume he means nuclear retaliation is one of those options.
