Laura and Jenna Bush continued their media rounds to promote their new book Wednesday night with a stop on CNN's Larry King. Larry managed to eek out some political conversation from the ladies. Laura told Larry she doesn't like it when Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton speak badly about her husband. And Jenna Bush dropped a bombshell by saying she doesn't know if she'll vote for a Republican. Watch the videos of Laura and Jenna Bush and then read the excerpted transcripts below.

Laura Bush on the "pounding" her husband is getting from the Democrats:

Jenna Bush
on the possibility that she might not vote for a Republican:

Laura Bush transcript:

KING: Laura, has it been difficult putting up with all the flack that your husband has taken? And, you know, low polls, is it tough for you emotionally?

L. BUSH: Well, in some ways, of course, because I want George to be popular. But on the other hand, I know that he does what he thinks is right for our country and that he doesn't think he should try to be popular, that that's the easy way out.

But I also know -- and I've been watching the campaign, just like everybody else has, and it's been great theater -- that he takes a huge pounding from the other candidates, not all of them, not my candidate, John McCain, but I think that is -- that's demoralizing to me. I don't like that.

And for people who are running for this very office, I think it's sort of a good thing for them to think about --

KING: You don't like the way the Clinton-Obama campaign has been run, you mean?

Jenna Bush transcript:

KING: Do you have a favorite between the two, the two Democrats?

Story continues below

L. BUSH: My favorite is the Republican.

(LAUGHTER)

KING: Yours, too, I would imagine.

J. BUSH: I don't know.

KING: A-ha. J. BUSH: But, I mean, you know --

KING: Are you open to --

J. BUSH: Yes, of course. I mean, who isn't open to learning about the candidates? But, I mean, and I'm sure everybody is like that. But I really -- I honestly have been too busy with books to really pay that much attention.

L. BUSH: No, no, the way they talk about the president.

KING: Oh.

L. BUSH: For somebody who wants to be the president, I think maybe it's a good idea not to talk about the president that way. But anyway, that's my advice to them.

I just realized -- Laura has that same vacant look and monotone talk that those polygamist women that they took their children from...
And just think - she nearly as experienced as HRC..

Too funny!

But, she may be far more experienced than Hillary... who do you think has to read those documents to him from the Justice Dept, the Pentagon, the House and the Senate. And then, of course she has to explain the big words and phrases like, "liberty", "justice", "freedom", and "invasion of privacy".

We didn't like the pounding that our troops got and are getting in Iraq that left 30,000 severely wounded and over 4000 dead. We don't like the disrespect shown to those who have fallen by not allowing their flag draped coffins to be shown and remembered.

We didn't like watching people in the Gulf Coast drown for five days before your husband acknowledged their existence. We don't like that he still doesn't help them.

We didn't like billions going to Halliburton and other pals of your husband to built things like police stations in Iraq that had sewage pour into the fixtures when you turned on the switch and in the end were uninhabitable.

We didn't like hundreds of millions of dollars going to a 23 year old arms dealer with his 28 yr old massuse partner to send useless bullets from the 1960s to Afghan forces that were fighting on our side which also put US troop lives at risk.

The list goes on but I would need an army to write it all. Your husband should hope that in the end it is only a pounding that he gets. Many think he deserves much more.

So very well said. And you would need an army to write it all. Unfortunately, an army is one thing we don't have any more. Along with a Constitution and....too painful to continue writing this. And Miss Laura - you are just as culpable as the brain-dead man you sleep with every night.

I would tell you what I think but, I might trigger some kind of security alert in the internet. They would come to my house withh jack boots and machine guns... and they would then unplug my key board...

Didn't Laura Bush murder someone years ago? As far as the pounding king Pinocchio is getting.. Apparently he doesn't mind since he and Shotgun Cheney and their family members are getting richer off the backs of the over 4100 dead American soldiers who were killed in iraq, after being sent there on a everchanging basis built on lies and deceit. Neo Con Parasites who are in the midst of starting their New World order for their Neo Nazi idealogies!
The best part of King Pinocchio ran down his mommas legs when she got pregnant and apparently her mommas legs too!

It was a car accident. She had a couple of girlfriends in the car with her, and she ran a red light.
She was 17 at the time. The young man in the other car was a friend from school. No one in either car had been drinking. I googled it.

perhaps she'd understand if Laura spent a week on the front lines in Iraq
or on a roof under water in NOLA
or tried to cure her kid's broken arm with a stick and tape
or tried to split a hamburger three ways
or couldn't afford to send her honor student to college
or couldn't fill her gas tank
or was living in her car
or ....

If Laura does'nt like the pounding Georgie-boy is getting now, She's really not going to like the on that "Bubba" would give him in prison. Not that it will ever happen' but I can DREAM can't I?
What is it about Bush women, they follow their husbands blindly.

With two vapid, profoundly incurious people as parents, who knows how Jenna will turn out. Laura and Georgie's relationship reminds me of that scene in Annie Hall where Woody asks the well-dressed, superficial couple how they make their marriage work and they respond that neither of them has ever had an original thought.

There does seem to be a glimmer of hope with Ron Regan and Patti Davis' conversion to liberalism; Julie Nixon Eisenhower just endorsed Obama; I recall hearing Goldwater's daughter on Air America and I think she said she was a Democrat.

All the Bush's are Republicans. George's sister recently wrote a book about her family and was interviewed on Fox by Hume. Hume seemed to get a big kick out of her, but it was really sad. This 40 or 50 something year old woman sounded like she was 12 years old----you know, the widdle girl voice. This suggests to me that she---and most likely the other sibs---was not encouraged by her parents to have a mind and life of her own.

Laura Bush is the perfect political wife for George Bush. She's smarter than he is, and that smile is what they call "inscrutable." You just can't tell what she is thinking.
