Pastor Hagee: Katrina Struck New Orleans Because Of Homosexual Rally

Hagee Katrina

Think Progress:

Pastor John Hagee -- whose endorsement Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said this past Sunday he was "glad to have" -- told NPR's Terry Gross that "Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans." "New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God," Hagee said, because "there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came."

On his radio show yesterday, right-wing talker Dennis Prager asked Hagee to respond to "the various charges made against him" in a fact sheet put out by the Democratic National Committee. Asked about his comments on Hurricane Katrina, Hagee said "the topic of that day was cursing and blessing":

Why isn't McCain getting any pressure to denounce and reject rather than accepting an endorsement from this guy? Where are the mainstream media hacks on this? Why isn't George Stephenopolous asking McCain whether Hagee "loves America?"

Perhaps greater than race or gender, RELIGION IS THE GREAT DIVIDE in our America. McCain will not get much pressure to denounce this most hateful and hate-filled man; rather he will find a way to diminish Hagee's visibility (which is a difficult task considering Hagee's love of the attention). The difference between Hagee and a Wright is the latter views his anger as righteous anger for the bigotry he has suffered through his life as a black man. On the other hand, Hagee is simply hateful.

Approximately 10 years ago, I awaken on a Sunday late morning to this man blaring hateful comments regarding then President Bill Clinton and his wife. In what he perceived as a joke, Hagee told a story depicting the death of these two human beings. It was the most shocking thing I'd ever heard from anyone, especially a minister, and the loud, corporate laughter from his audience/congregation was just as unbelievable. Committed that day to never listen to another word from his lips.

Organized religion has removed empathy, common sense, compassion and spirituality from an unspeakable and all encompassing love from God ... the creator of life: my personal belief. Organized religion is a major politic in our body of politics and McCain is betting there is a greater number of Evangelicals who agree with Hagee than Catholics. McCain can count on the so-called "working class" who will vote against Obama because he is a black man: a win-win for him.

Religion supporting gambling and racism ...

Katrina struck New Orleans because New Orleans was in the path of this massive storm. Much of the devastating damage from flooding occurred because the LEVYS BROKE: This was human error and under-funding by the government for repairs, and not God's curse. God's part in Katrina is His presence, His inner peace to know, those who suffered lost (big or small) can believe and hope for a greater good in mankind, our government and themselves to bounce back stronger than before ... again, my belief.

Thank you.

McCain isn't the only one with an anti-gay Pastor Problem:

Obama has another Pastor Problem of his own. This one is a FIRE BREATHING HOMOPHOBIC BIGOT (and he is also an official delegate for the Obama campaign) Meet James T. Meeks, he makes the racist Reverend Wright look tame in comparison.

Haggee should be grateful. The hurricane was actually aimed at him because God truely hates blowhards and hypocrits that mislead his people. His hand slipped at the last minute and, hurricanes being difficult to control, it went zinging off towards New Orleans. He sincerely apoligizes. Next time he'll use a volcano and won't miss.

Pastor Hagee, I love this guy he makes Pastor Wright look down right rational. He is going to alienate 70 million Catholic voters with his Devil worshipers and great whores of Babylon BS. A better question for Holy Joe, is why is Hagee so pro-Israel, is it because in his twisted little mind, Hagee thinks that Jews are failed Christians, Christ killers, if you will and must accept Jesus to be saved or die when the nuclear rapture comes. I’m sure that will go over big with the Catholics are whores and Jews are failed Christians voter base.

Perhaps he can explain why the French Quarter was the least damaged by Katrina? Seems like God has a lousey aim if he was attempting to punish all the debauchery that prinicpally takes place there! Or maybe God just loves watching Madis Gras?

You may be right! That makes as much sense as this pseude-religious, wacko, nut case makes!

From the following quote, Jesus -- who should be this man's authority -- states clearly that it is by knowing God better that we experience a better life, and it is NOT THAT GOD IS PUNISHING MANKIND for its sins. (Note: the word "repent" translated from the Greek actually means "rethink." So Jesus is saying we need to rethink who we are and who God is. That's "repenting." But he makes it absolutely clear that God (Love) does not punish sinners. Jesus may be saying that we punish ourselves by being separate from God but he's certainly clear that it isn't God punishing because of sins. Anyway, here's the great quote in Jesus' own words:

Chapter 13

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Amen.

Scripture never works for these guys. If it did, they wouldn't be spouting their nonsense. My favorite line of all time has to be one I came accross in a small house museum: "And to my sister I leave my bible in the hopes that she will come to understand its spirit as much as its word." Maybe everyone should take the time and mail Hagee a bible.

That's a fantastic quote. Oh if only the spirit was more widely breathed in and out.

This isn't news anymore. McCain long ago decided to bed down with the agents of intolerance he himself condemned. Here's a flashback for you:

They run through about five or six a week as they quickly go stark raving mad listening to the MSM. At least they're not using animals anymore, though.

Not only was McBush glad for the endorsement, but he actively sought that endorsement back a few months ago... I do believe McBush has a "reverend" problem here.
