The announcement got buried in the avalanche of news coverage ahead of Tuesday's Democratic primary in Pennsylvania. But on the same day that Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton finished another lap in their slog for the nomination, the national Democratic Party launched its first television ad against the man one of them will face in November.

The 30-second spot, which will air for three weeks on CNN and MSNBC and targets John McCain's economic views, reflects a growing sense among Democratic leaders that the prolonged nomination fight is giving Senator McCain a free pass for too long.

Watch it:

I know this is off topic, forgive me, but has anyone 'seen' Thalia/ Danbury?

I hadn't seen a post from her in quite some time, but I never can keep up with the name changes and bannings around here.

Yesterday McCain was in New Orleans criticizing Bush's handling of Katrina.
The press loved it. They framed it as more proof that McCain is his own man.

Really?

In May 2006, Mr. McCain was among 21 Republicans to vote against a bill that included $29 billion for Gulf Coast hurricane recovery; it passed the Senate with 71 votes in favor.

So he was for saving the people of New Orleans after he voted against it. Or something.
If Dems had any Balls, they could kick this guys ass without even getting close to the low bar the swift boat liars set.

If mcsame wasn't another disaster waiting to happen as president I would feel sorry for him.
You can tell he isn't sharp on his feet due to his age. He really does need someone whispering the answers into his ear.

The media is working hard trying to paint an opposite picture of him.

Oh. John McCain.

Now there's a name nobody has mentioned in awhile.

I was beginning to think the election was between two Democrats.

And the only problems facing America were 'bitter' pastors and 'uneducated ' white women.

With all we've already seen or read about McCain this is the best the DEMS could come up with? I believe a 6th grader could have put together a better Political Ad than that. Now lets start over and come up with some numbers, dates, and show this old man in the light he needs to be shown in. To those of you who defend him - you should be ashamed of yourself. This man is deadly.

Swiftboating is when you get people to lie for your cause.

How is using McSame's own words against him swiftboating?

The ad shows how out of touch and how much of an elitist he is.

LOL. The Dems don't have control of anything with no super majority in the House and Senate. Rethugs are still marching in lock-step with that Traitor Bush and his Energy Thieves. Pullease--try getting off the Kool-Aid. Peoople like you are destroying the last remnants of Democracy.

Dems control--HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You're killing me.

I don't recall Pelosie promising lower gas prices. I DO recall Cheney's secret energy policy meetings before gas rose in price to over twice--maybe three times--what gasoline cost before Bush took office.

If you want lower gas (housing and food) prices--best vote Democratic so we can end Corporate Welfare (much more money than the cost of food stamps and housing for the poor). Gasoline companies are getting $16 billion in subsidies while they enjoy record profits. We're paying at the pump AND with our tax dollars. You don't know what you are talking about. At all. Another Rethug TROLL who hates his/her country.

Yea, what happened to the 100 days to fix eveything? The Dems control Congress, yet they have done nothing, zero, nada except to promise to raise taxes.

They could make the price of gas go down in one vote yet they still do nothing and sock it to the little guy. Champions of the little guy HAHAHAHAHAHA RIGHT!

And today McCain said:

"I think it's very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the United States. So apparently has Danny Ortega and several others. I think that people should understand that I will be Hamas's worst nightmare....If senator Obama is favored by Hamas I think people can make judgments accordingly."

I can't wait until Obama simply uses McCain's own words, and voting record against him.

Get ready to retire McCain.

Look dems.

You better get off your lazy advertising agency asses and start hammering it home at a decible that everyone can hear.

You need to remind people what greedy, vile criminals ALL republicans in office have been.

People should be humming your anti-republican jingles in the car and to their children at bedtime if you really want to put the final nail the republicon coffin.

This spot was okay, but it was way too Pelosi for me.

Pump up the volume!

Reuters News is reporting that an American Military contracted ship has fired on an Iranian ship. Only other site to be reporting this is MSNBC.

THIS IS BREAKING NEWS

This IS how history repeats itself

Could be, but hardly the same as Tonkin, although info is still hazy. However MSC ships are not usually the ones on the offensive and were most likely firing in defense. I may be slightly partial since I was in the MMR.

The Administration, McCain, Lieberman, and now Hillary have all been trigger happy to expand the war to Iran for quite sometime now.

It's not the first time there has been trouble near Iranian waters (remember the Brithish Troops that were captured and later released).

We'll be lucky if bush and co. don't expand the war before the election. It's not ironic that a few days after Admiral Fallon testified before congress about the bad shape our military is in, that he was ousted from his position at centcom and replaced by Petreaus.

Yet another blatant episode of Bush's inability to listen to the commanders on the ground.

Barack's campaign should kick in $10 million or so to fund the McCain ad.

The voters need to see the ad.

And the superdelegates need to see that Obama is in this thing to do what's right for the party not just for himself (unlike you know who).

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:39 AM on 04/25/2008

I'm curious if that would be legal under the convoluted rules of campaign spending. However, if it means that much to you, why not contribute a few bucks to the DNC?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:44 AM on 04/25/2008

The Democratic Party in itself is a oxymoran. We tend to vote on the candidate and his promises and not what the Party stands for, hence if Hilary doesnt win i will vote Mc Caine or If Obama doesn't win we will vote Mc Shame. Of all the racial voting blocks AA have mostly voted Democratic regardless if you had to hold your nose at times. Why is that? because we know which party more helps the poor and dis infranchised. So the question the Democratic have never answered is how they are different and why poor whites and middle class whites switch from a Obama to a Mc Caine. I can now see how skillful the Clitons are/ but what they may be counting on if they get the nomination is tha AA will come out / thats a bet they might loose. Niether can win without the help of the other. One thing i am jealous of the Republicans is their ability to come together and vote Republican, regardeless of who is running, regardless of who they favor. Democrats come together or victory will not be snatched from the Republican jaws of defeat

Polls show the data that the questions steer them towards,

which is how McBomb comes within a couple % points of

being competitive w/ either Hillary or Barack in the general.

We are being set up to accept a fixed election, once again.

Our party is going to have to be very careful with any ads that are aired before a nominee is chosen. Hillary doesn't differ that much from McCain on certain issues and nobody knows for certain that she will not be the nominee. The party doesn't want to be having to eat its own words later on. After 8 years of Bush, Hillary calculates that the country is still fairly conservative and tailors her message to just that. Given the Penn primary, she calculated correctly. You'd think that after 8 years of Bush, the voters would be falling into Obama's arms. They might yet, but they didn't in Penn. Indiana is next...

Too late for that. There's plenty of tape around with Clinton passionately advancing McCain's Iraq argument.

She'll be eating her own words with or without the Democratic Party helping her. McCain will make sure of that.

Which Hillary do you know? The ad I just saw is calculated to show just how out of touch McCain is with the lives of ordinary Americans. It is these same issues that drive Hillary's campaign which offers precise and concrete solutions to the problems of ordinary Americans. Does Obama offer these solutions. No, he offers platitudes and flowery speeches. Oh, and a little bit of whining lately since he lost in Penn.
