Japan Suicide Gas Attack

CBC/AP:

A 14-year-old Japanese girl killed herself by mixing laundry detergent with cleanser, releasing fumes that also sickened 90 people in her apartment house.

Authorities say none of the sickened neighbours in Konan, southern Japan, were severely ill, although about 10 were hospitalized.

The deadly hydrogen sulfide gas escaped from the girl's bathroom window and entered neighbouring apartments.

The girl's suicide Wednesday night was part of an expanding string of similar deaths that experts say have been encouraged by Internet suicide sites.

What a misleading headline. She committed suicide by mixing chemicals to create a lethal gas. Calling it a "suicide gas attack" makes it sound like, well, a suicide gas attack. God, if you had read the story you'd even see that she put a sign on the door saying "Gas being emitted," that's not really a suicide bomber at work guys.

That is what first struck me about this as well. How exactly did the word "attack" get inserted anywhere in this article. Is this why the terror alert is elevated today?

I was also going to make the same comment. A completely misleading headline.
