Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart turned his attention from the Democratic primary to analyze George Stephanopoulos' interview of John McCain. Stewart hits McCain -- and the media generally -- for the huge discrepancy between questions asked to Obama a week ago and questions asked to McCain this weekend.

The whole thing is worth a watch. If you weren't impressed by Stephanopoulos after his debate performance last week, this probably isn't going to bring you closer to him:

McCain was a navy pilot. And I agree, he's no hero. He saved no one. He couldn't even save himself, some Vietnamese woman dove in the river and pulled his sorry ass out of it.

and how does he show his gratitude? by referring to asian folks as "gooks" on a regular basis, and saying he WON'T STOP using that term!

Mccain says, who or what are they voting on? Ok count me to whatever it is???

He has no idea what he stands for unless it's men dying in a WAR!!

I don't know why, but people seem to love McCain in this county. The media treats him like some kind of saint. We would see his poll numbers going south if he got even half as much scrutiny about his past and record as Obama.

What I'd like to see is the media going after Pastor John Hagee who has endorsed McCain, the both of them were shown hugging each other. Hagee called the Catholic a church of demons and whores, also said "God was responsible for Katrina, said it was because of the gay community on Bourbon Street and their lifestyle, or something to that effect, may not be the exact wording. Funny how the "churches" were destroyed during Katrina and Bourbon Street was not. Hmmm...

Hagee's sermons ought to be aired on t.v. and not only Rev. Wright's, and who was it said the media is "liberal". Not so.

But Hagee isn't BLACK! Oh the horrors! An African-American who speaks his mind! He was great at the National Press Club today, by the way. Did not know he was a Marine. Of course, the MSM never mentioned that...

Any one with any perception knows that McCain is a continuation of Bush! Keep this character out of the White House or the whole country will go further into the morass and decline!

And you know this because? Oh, right, Bill O'Reilly must have included it in his talking points to all the right wing nut jobs. By the way, Carter wasn't resonsible for the deaths of over 4000 Americans and tens of thousands Iraqis.

Awc, have to work on expanding that vocabulary and dropping calling everyone a "retard." It only reflects poorly on you. Give Fox news a break for awhile!

And this whole thread is a perfect example of why John McCain is going to win in November.

The media is well known for noting the vast diversity that exists in our country.

Out of curiosity I went to a McCain rally here in Southern California and was amazed that it was entirely made up of white people. OK, there was one Asian-American on stage. But that was it.

So while the media continues to focus on the potential racial divide looming do to the contentious campaign for the Democratic nominee.

Yet few have commented on how John McCain, with such limited multi-ethnic appeal, can faithfully and dilligently represent ALL the people.

McCain's election will simply be the continuation of the status quo that America has experienced since her inception. America has always been ruled by a bunch of European-descended rich old white guys, and we prolly shouldn't expect much to change in the near future. After all, most of the voters in the elections are European-descended as well -- thereby giving them the political power in this country -- and people usually stick with their own kind (97% black male vote for Obama in PA). No big surprises there. America the melting pot? Yeah, riiiight......

Ummm, who are we trying to impress here? We have senators, governors, and congressman of all races, creeds, and genders. A woman is speaker of the house. A black woman is fourth in line to the presidency. What do you want here? Are we just supposed to vote for Obama simply because he is half black? You want affirmative action to decide the presidency just to impress the world of something? Guy, Europe contains some of the biggest racists on this planet. Do you think you will ever see a black guy or a muslim running for president in France or Germany? Do you think a non-Chinese guy is going to be head of the Communist party or a non-Japanese guy prime minister of Japan?

Seriously, shut up. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

hahahahahahaha... Magoo McCain hasn't a chance in November. He might as well waddle over to his walker and shuffle off to a Florida retirement home.

Two wrongs do not make a right. To say one is wrong and the other somehow not wrong is ridiculous. Both Obama and McCain are pandering to the religious right. And because of this, neither deserves to win. There are other reason's as well.

If we all got what we TRULY DESERVED, we'd all be dead! I have not idea what you're talking about when you say deserve - Clinton DESERVES to win because she doesn't "pander to the religious right", she only panders to the bitter unemployed and uneducated?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:18 PM on 04/26/2008

I mean if they are pandering to religion, they are ignoring the seperation between church and state, and do not pass the test. This is my opinion.
How does Hillary do that?? Like Obama doesn't? Puleeeeesse.
