A senior Obama adviser vows that he will "take Fox on" when he appears on the network this Sunday, though it's unclear yet just how.

Obama's decision to go on Fox News has prompted a lot of discussion about the Illinois Senator's relationship with Rupert Murdoch and whether Obama is trying to "court" the media mogul in advance of the general election.

Obama. Please don't disappoint us. Go get these shallow, lying, preening, anti-American deception maestros at Fox News. They've helped to steel our humanity, our democracy, our reputation and our hard earned money. You have whites, blacks, women, men and the full American spectrum behind you. Go, Man and God Speed.

The argument I would like to hear in response to the Reverend Wright issue would go something like this:

In the black community it is much more common to hear very harsh rhetoric as people vent their frutrations with a system that, in their view, hasn't treated them fairly. So one is not quick to judge even if one doesn't share the views expressed. In fact, as a cosntitutional professor, Obama loves the concept of free speech and embraces it even when the speech borders on the extreme because free speech is the bedrock of American values. People have criticized Obama for being a little too inclusive but that is his style and it is a style well suited to the present age when we need to move forward as a whole. Getting good health care plan today isn't so much a matter of being tough as it is a matter of working cooperatively with all the segments of society to achieve an all-encompassing solution that will save jobs in our rust belt while giving everybody a feeling of security. Getting tough in the mid-east is not as important as finding inclusive solutions - just ask our soldiers who have said as much. So what is all this stuff about tough? For all the toughness we hear about, where are we, how far have we come?

C'mon, Axelrod, grab the thread here and start weaving a cohesive, intelligent, holistic campaign.

the media was designed as an informational tool for the people

it became a propaganda tool for the government

now it is just an ego-driven tool

As one who has not gotten heavily into the Fox issue, I'm wondering if it's role as a propaganda distributorship is truly motivated by ideology or more by pandering to power. It is interesting to speculate whether or not they will remain in the right wing corner once it is out of power and they lose a substantial portion of their ability to serve as an amplifier. Imagine: Fox coming out in favor of withdrawing from Iraq, dealing with terrorists as criminals and not as minions of the Dark Lord, fighting global warming, and encouraging investment in alternative energy. Impossible you say? Profit is a great motivator.

Joedlh-The Right is not surrendering - they're just in their caves, cleaning their weapons, waiting for a break in the action. They're in it for the long haul, precisely because profit is a great motivator.British Petroleim and Wal Mart may run green ads, but they've missed the point. All the profits still go 1% of the people, who live decadently while others toil in inhuman conditions all over the world for them.

Barack, if they bring up the flag pin just say you cant wear it because its made in China and full of lead, and U.S. workers should be making flag pins anyway. And don't forget to work Bush's Recession into every answer.

Ever heard of deregulation? Enron ring a bell.?When the gov'nt refuses to regulate business practices greed and exploitation is the result. Mortagage lenders were required by law to check people's tax forms before lending. They didn't -and banks did not follow through on that safeguard.Business knows Bush was not about to quash their fun. Alan Greenspan warned about it several times but never ordered an audit.

Senator Obama a couple of weeks ago a young girl was lured to a house where eight teenagers AMBUSHED her. Six girls took turns beating her, while two teens guarded the door. Just thought I'd pass that info on to you to give you something to think about.

It's about time that Obama took the challenge. The longer he avoided Fox it appeared that he was afraid of the GOP bad boys. As been said here and by himself, how can he unify Americans by avoiding a significant sector of the population. I also think that the interview will be easier then the one that Obama failed with ABC. I am looking forward to the debate.

Very few people are even aware that Fox had this little challenge going for them. The Fox news channel is very much a fringe organization that caters to the minority red-neck masses. This interview will be negligible compared to the 10 million that watched the ABC fiasco.

"Obama is trying to "court" the media mogul in advance of the general election."

Of course he has to. How can you win any election without making amends with the (with apologies to Howard Stern) King of all New York Media.

Gotta kiss the ring of King Rupert, or you're dust.

Amazing how so much power in American media is wielded by the foreign man from a land down under...

"Do you come from a land down under?

Where women glow and men plunder?

Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?

You better run, you better take cover."

Obama has realized that he can't take cover, so he better stand up and take it on. Otherwise he's toast.

I personally think that the fight around Obama has been a struggle between the people vs. the establishment. Obama is seen as a breath of fresh air, whereas HillBilly are seen as an extension of George Bush II. HillBilly supporters have to admit that Hillary will never pushing the criminal cabal that is BushCo, she will sweep all inquiry into this corrupt administration under the run (just like Bill did with Iran Contra), and she will end up kissing the neocon ass harder and longer than anyone.

But hey, as long as we don't have a scarily charismatic black man from who knows where as POTUS. Give us more war, more death, more pillage, and more corporate malfeasance.

Go America! Woo woo woo woo!

Fools.

With ABC News' George Stephanopolous taking questions dictated directly from the mouth of Sean Hannity, Obama might as well go on Fox. He'll cut out the middle man.

The question he took from Hannity was about Bill Ayers, if George didn't ask it someone else would have. Better to get it out there now rather than later don't you think?

BTW, why would a relationship with a domestic terrorist be out of bounds?

After seeing Jeremiah Wright's conversation with Bill Moyer's tonight and being blown away with how deep and truthful he was in his explanation of things, I definitely think it's time for Barack to throw down with those cowards. Kick their asses, Barry!

I think the best thing for politicians with integrity to do is ignore FOX news, why give it any credibility with an appearence?
