Rush Limbaugh Sings: "I'm Dreaming Of Riots In Denver"

DENVER (AP) - Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh downplayed his "dreaming of riots in Denver" statement, saying that he wasn't calling for riots and was referring to warnings of trouble if super delegates decide the nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

Limbaugh's comments on his syndicated show Wednesday prompted Mayor John Hickenlooper to say: "Anyone who would call for riots in an American city has clearly lost their bearings."

Limbaugh made his comment Wednesday to the tune of the holiday song, "White Christmas," and said riots during the convention would ensure Democrats don't get elected.

Glenn Spagnuolo, an organizer with the protest group Re-create 68, mimicked a comment by state Rep. Douglas Bruce, R-Colorado Springs, by saying: "We don't need another 5,000 illiterate Limbaugh listeners coming to Colorado."

I mean, according to this report Limbaugh said "riots during the convention would ensure Democrats don't get elected" This doesn't make any sense at all.

Look, generally speaking, the temperment at the anti-war and peace rally's these past eight years have lively and peaceful. The exception has been the result of police misconduct in creating chaos, resulting in men, women and children scurrying to safety, and away from the police. (Not to mention government­/corporate infiltraters and provoctour­s).This is true also for the conventions held in New York City and Los Angeles.

Anyway, it's not good to promote violence for any reason.

There are a couple of things you can do to get this moron off of the airwaves. First, email complaints to the radio station(s) in your area that host his fascist show. Second, contact the companies that advertise on his program and explain to them that as long as they insist on supporting his show, you will not be using their products. And finally you can email a complaint to the FCC here. [e-mail]. If enough people do these things, he WILL be jerked off of the air. Radio station revenue comes directly from their advertisers, no advertisers, no money. Hit them in the pocketbook! Personally, I don't think the FCC is going to do anything since it is part of the Bush administration and Rush spews out the right-wing doctrines.
