Rush Limbaugh Sings: "I'm Dreaming Of Riots In Denver"

DENVER (AP) - Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh downplayed his "dreaming of riots in Denver" statement, saying that he wasn't calling for riots and was referring to warnings of trouble if super delegates decide the nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

Limbaugh's comments on his syndicated show Wednesday prompted Mayor John Hickenlooper to say: "Anyone who would call for riots in an American city has clearly lost their bearings."

Limbaugh made his comment Wednesday to the tune of the holiday song, "White Christmas," and said riots during the convention would ensure Democrats don't get elected.

Glenn Spagnuolo, an organizer with the protest group Re-create 68, mimicked a comment by state Rep. Douglas Bruce, R-Colorado Springs, by saying: "We don't need another 5,000 illiterate Limbaugh listeners coming to Colorado."

Poor old Rush, trying to revive his limp, impotent little career by getting arrested yet again. A few weeks he tried violating election laws, only to be disappointed because he wasn't influential enough to damage the electoral process. Now he's hoping to get charged with attempting to incite violence. But alas, when no more than a handful of your listeners are under 70, it's hard to convince the authorities that you even have the potential to incite violence. At this point the most he can hope for is making Kieth Olberman's "Worst Persons" list. It's a pity that they don't make Viagra for ratings.

What has gone completely unnoticed in the press is that calling for, or dreaming of, riots in Denver is only a small part of the plot that Limbaugh is openly advocating that he calls "Operation CHAOS."

I am not making this up.This is an attempt to affect the results of the Democratic nomination process so that the weakest candidate is elected and the party is so split and divided that it self-destructs.

Riots in Denver are only part of it. Already thousands of Republicans have gone to Dem primaries and voted for Clinton in an attempt to skew the actual will of Democratic voters. Letters are written to editors trashing Obama and bringing up all the old lies. We don't know the mischief he is planning.

This is a real attempt to subvert democracy here, a blatant campaign to destabilize the Democratic party and steal the election. Again. And he's talking about violence - riots in Denver.

This could get awfully scary, Nation. People are starting to talk violence. There are a lot of guns in this country. Who knows where we are headed?

Limbaugh never once advocated violence in Denver or anywhere else.

The Denver PD, the CO National Guard, etc. are receiving riot training; there are groups "Recreate '68" & others that are very active in Denver now. Al Sharpton stated that he would lead "protests in the streets" were Obama denied the nomination.

True, it was a police riot, but Jerry Rubin later admitted that the Yippies intentionally provoked the cops with the intention of causing a riot. That's not to say the cops didn't overreact. They acted inexcusably. Also, Rubin and the Yippies were only a tiny fraction of otherwise peaceful and law abiding protesters.
