When Hillary Clinton's Presidential campaign was launched, in January, 2007, her supporters feared that Bill would overshadow her, as he had when they both spoke at the funeral of Coretta Scott King, a year earlier. Now the constant fear is that he will embarrass her. When he makes news, it is rarely a good day for his spouse. Whether he was publicly comparing Barack Obama's primary victory in South Carolina to Jesse Jackson's campaigns in the eighties or privately, and apoplectically, complaining that Bill Richardson broke his word by endorsing Obama, every story has seemed to reinforce an image of Clinton as a sort of ill-tempered coot driven a little mad by Obama's success. "I think this campaign has enraged him," the adviser told me. "He doesn't like Obama." In private conversations, he has been dismissive of his wife's rival. James Clyburn, an African-American congressman from South Carolina, told me that Clinton called him in the middle of the night after Obama won that state's primary and raged at him for fifty minutes. "It's pretty widespread now that African-Americans have lost a whole lot of respect for Bill Clinton," Clyburn said.

I guess Bill Clinton doesn't realize that he has lost the respect of a lot of white people who used to defend him and thought well of him. He is so self-centered, he cannot see that he is destroying his own reputation.

I don't like Bill. Bill makes everything about Bill. All red-faced and finger pointing...always about Bill. And that middle of the night phone call to Congressman Clyburn after Hill lost S. Carolina: is THAT the 3am emergency the Clintons have been trying to warn us all about? Jeez....

What in the hell does this mean? "One of the reasons that she won Ohio that nobody wrote about," he said, without explanation, "is that Ohio has a plant that produces the largest number of solar reflectors in America."

And this is news? That Bill doesn't like Obama? And one more thing, Bill - I'm not a multi-millionaire - in fact I'm not even rich enough that I have a broker - and my retirement fund was cut in half at the end of YOUR presidency - because we had an economy based on a dot.com bubble and global expansion - at the cost of American jobs and the environment.

Clinton did increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans, but I come from a family that is working poor - and the way they lived was the same through every administration.

He has had many public extramarital affairs, several of which would be considered to be sexual harassment.

As the first Democratic President in over a decade, he knew how important his job was and how close he was being watched by the Right-wing. Yet, he decided to put that mission in jeopardy by his constant unethical behavior. To this day there is an outcry for putting Chelsea in an uncomfortable position, even though she is several years older then Monica was when she was an intern under Clinton.

He wants nothing more then to mantain his place as the most influential person in the Democratic party. The Clinton's care most about themselves...not their party or this nation.

I think Bill is forgetting that it was his presidency led to Gore losing in 2000 and the Dem's losing congress for 12 years. Obama has not so much attacked Bill's policies except for his policy's that are hurting the middle class. Obama is rightfully saying that the politics that Bill Clinton helped divide this country and damaged the Democratic party. This is absolutely true. The big difference between Clinton's presidency and Reagan's for example is that Reagan strengthened his party while Clinton hurt his.

Of course the Clinton's (either one, Hillary or Bill) don't like Obama. Obama talks about things the Clintons don't like. Obama is beating Hillary in this race. Bill will lose some of his power base if Hillary does not gt elected. The majority of the people prefer Obama and if all states had cross over voting Hillary would have already lost and in states like Pennsylvania where no cross over is allowed Hillary will do better. The Indipendents much prefer Obama than Hillary. Now that it has come out the Bill does not like Obama it will probably work in Obama's favor.
