I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Bill Clinton On Obama

The New Yorker:

The New Yorker profiles the role of Bill Clinton and his rivalry with Barack Obama:

When Hillary Clinton's Presidential campaign was launched, in January, 2007, her supporters feared that Bill would overshadow her, as he had when they both spoke at the funeral of Coretta Scott King, a year earlier. Now the constant fear is that he will embarrass her. When he makes news, it is rarely a good day for his spouse. Whether he was publicly comparing Barack Obama's primary victory in South Carolina to Jesse Jackson's campaigns in the eighties or privately, and apoplectically, complaining that Bill Richardson broke his word by endorsing Obama, every story has seemed to reinforce an image of Clinton as a sort of ill-tempered coot driven a little mad by Obama's success. "I think this campaign has enraged him," the adviser told me. "He doesn't like Obama." In private conversations, he has been dismissive of his wife's rival. James Clyburn, an African-American congressman from South Carolina, told me that Clinton called him in the middle of the night after Obama won that state's primary and raged at him for fifty minutes. "It's pretty widespread now that African-Americans have lost a whole lot of respect for Bill Clinton," Clyburn said.

"I think he's leading a caravan of Wal-Mart greeters to the polls."

This is how the Clintons think of those poor souls suckered into voting for Hillary, shotgun and a beer chaser. I think I'm pretty darn disgusted and sure I'm not going to hear this answer on the mainstream media on a 15 minute loop any time soon. It's amazing that the same people who probably bombarded CNN and MSNBC and Fox with blackberry bs about Obama's elitist remarks are the ones who demean HER voters in such a dismissive way. Disgraceful.

I think Bill is mad because Obama is smarter than he is. Bill is very smart himself but not as smart, classy, nice as Obama. Bill would not like that because everything has to be about him. Hell when he campaigns he talks more about himself then he does her.

Have a crush on Obambi much? It's like the "have a beer with Bush" voters. You are never, repeat, never, going to hang out with the cute Obama!

Kidding aside, though, Bubba is losing it!

I think Bill Clinton thought this Presidential race would be about him and when Obama made it clear that he could run over both Clintons like a steam roller in getting the popular vote and delegates it just made Bill see Red. Bill Clinton thought this was a young black up start of a boy, he didn't have to worry about and he could wipe his hands of him by FEB. elections! Now he doesn't know how to stop Obama and it's makeing him crazy! He thinks the whole country, especially blacks has run out on him, and that this destroys his legacy if HE can't win this thing(of course his wife is just a second thought to him). this isn't about her after all, it's all about him! It's always I did this or I did that--------he lives in the past. I would be very scared to have him in the white house again! I really believe he is loseing it!

"I think Bill Clinton thought this Presidential race would be about him "

Yup, and, if by some chance, Hillary gets elected, Bill will probably think the Presidency is about him as well. Sounds like the makings of a real mess.

Clinton hates Obama because the neophyte black freshman senator from Illinois is beating the Clintons, who have 80 years of political experience between them.
"The focus on Clintonian error has obscured a serious debate that Obama and the former President tried to have. Obama has been arguing that the country’s economic troubles are as much Clinton’s fault as Bush’s—he blames Clinton-era deregulation of the telecommunications and banking industries—and he implicitly accuses Bill Clinton of surrendering to special interests. “The problems we face go beyond any single Administration,” Obama told one labor audience. “For far too long, through both Democratic and Republican Administrations, the system has been rigged against everyday Americans by the lobbyists that Wall Street uses to get its way.”
Clinton hates Obama because Obama is beating THE Clintons!

Clinton is right - Obama misrepresents his legacy and that his America > Bush's.

Obama is right - CLinton's deregulation, especially of the banking industry had a LOT to do with the current economic hoohah.
