This morning, the Boston Globe launched the most aggressive editorial broadside yet against statements made by Hillary Clinton last week on Good Morning America, where she promised to "totally obliterate" Iran if they attacked Israel, comparing the Senator to fictional film character "Doctor Strangelove" and calling her statements a "red line that should never be crossed."

While Clinton has hammered Obama for supporting military strikes in Pakistan, her comments on Iran are much more far-reaching. She seems not to realize that she undermined Iranian reformists and pragmatists. The Iranian people have been more favorable to America than any other in the Gulf region or the Middle East.

A presidential candidate who lightly commits to obliterating Iran - and, presumably, all the children, parents, and grandparents in Iran - should not be answering the White House phone at any time of day or night.

Meanwhile, over at CNN's Late Edition, Senator Diane Feinstein and Representative Pete Hoekstra were sounding bipartisan support for diplomatic tactics to be employed in dealing with Iran.

[WATCH.]

ThinkProgress goes on to point out that even the current Joint Chiefs of Staff nether expect nor recommend military action be taken against Iran, despite the agreement that the Iranians are continuing "to supply weapons and other support to extremists in Iraq."

I find it shocking that this statement by Hillary Clinton is being ignored by the media. If John McCain or Obama had said it, the press would be all over it for weeks, and so would Hillary! Our country's citizens and leaders need to wake up and realize that statements like this are foolish, dangerous and a hindrance to our working with countries in the Middle East and the rest of the world. Thanks to the Boston Globe at least for taking a stand against her appalling remarks.

Finally Huffington has part of this here to read and hear! know can we please hear what Britain parliment and the Middle East leaders said when clinton said she'd Obliterate Iran, with no thought to the innocent women, children and men in that country! obama was right again! Britain says we don't need people in American talking with such a attitude toward Iran, and it could do great harm! the Middle East just thinks the woman has lost all her sense's, and she don't need to be involved when she talks this way! I think she will throw any one or any Nation under the bus if it gets her what she wants! At this point an time she wants to look BRAVE and MILITARY with more experience---------So with out thinking of the consquences of her actions she started screaming distroy Iran! It was just like her mistake to vote for the Iraq war and now she says she sorry about that and that we should understand! But, her mistakes endangers our country and our loved ones, and spills unecesary blood on battle grounds in foreign countrys where we have no bussiness being.

Good, the sensible ones in the US legislator are speaking out now. The neocons should understand that Iran is not Iraq. Persians are not Arabs. Their sense of loyalty is far greater and solid than Arabs. Don't forget that the only Persian country left in the world is Iran. No persian, no matter how he/she disagrees with the Current regine in Iran, will support the "obliteration" of their beloved country. An attack on Iran with a flimsy excuse of being hostile to Israel, will be the biggest mistake the US has ever made. Not even the mistakes of Vietnam and Iraq can be equated to the catastrophies that shall erupt should US attack Iran. That is why talking to Iran is the best option for the US. Obama is right again.

I thought Hillary was the champion of the rights of children and women. Did she not make a great speech , for which her supporters tout her, about those rights somewhere off shore? Yet, she sat on her butt, while 500,000 children died as a result of the sanctions against Iraq. A country that was NO threat to the US, had no military to speak of, but did have something the US coveted. Their oil.

I guess to her, the deaths of 500,000 children were, like Madeline Albright said, "worth it".

Now she wants to not only kill children by refusing to ban cluster bombs in civilian areas, but also wants to kill more in Iran--indeed, she will willfully without hesitation, annhilate ALL the children and women in Iran, (just because she thinks she can) a country which is no threat to the US (only to Israel) and they have, guess what--

oil.
