Dolphins Collide Midair At SeaWorld, One Dies In Front Of Crowd

A 30-year-old dolphin at Sea World has died after colliding with another dolphin while performing aerial tricks, the Orlando, Florida, amusement park said Monday.

The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Discovery Cove area of the park, according to a statement by Sea World spokeswoman Becca Bides.

These dolphins are rescues from sickness or injury and can't go back into the wild. Much of the income from facilities like Sea World goes to rescue and rehabilitate animals that are re-released when healthy. The staff of Sea World has saved thousands of seals, dolphins, small whales and the like from death over the decades.

You had to have dreamed this up, because you must not know too much about the history of Sea World. I live in San Diego, Calif where we also have a Seaworld. Our news people broke a huge story about a year ago about how durning the "capture" of one of the whales, 3 whales were killed by trying to block these horrible people from taking him, by the way, this was worldwide.
And who do you think the people are who spilled the beans? the folks that caught him.
They said it was awful, so much blood and horror, but they did the deed anyway.
The Seals and Dolphins are caught with nets and many die.Nothing humane about that.
Granted, they have saved many, but they have also killed many during their capture.
I find this unforgiveable. Wild animals should be in the wild and these beautiful water babies need to be out in the ocean!

During the 18 years I worked on merchant ships, I had many opportunities to watch dolphins at sea many times. When you see these majestic creatures in open water, or surfing a bow wake for hours at a time, you really hate the idea of their being kept in these small pens.

Kept in captivity in a very small pool (for a dolphin)

Fed when doing unnatural acts at its captors bidding

Forced to do stupid tricks for the enjoyment of humans.

Maybe the dolphin committed suicide.

It says the animals were at the center of the lagoon and not near guests in the main story.

But at any rate, this is very upsetting, and I hate when people make rude remarks about any living thing dying. It shows what type of person you are.

I am glad though that this dolphin at least had 30-years to live its life. I really agree with those who say animals should be left to live their lives and not here entertaining us stupid humans. They deserve better than that.

I will never understand these bizarre shows where wild animals must do tricks to entertain humans. All for money. Let a dolphin be a friggen wild dolphin. Leave bears and lions to the wilds. We can see wild animals via dvds nowadays in their natural habitats. Manunkind ... again, its all about greed.
