Pansy? Standing next to Clinton, her top surrogate in North Carolina actually used the word "pansy" this morning.

After touring a bio-manufacturing training center, Gov. Easley, First Lady of North Carolina Mary Easley and Clinton held a ceremony at NC State University. The Governor formally expressed his support saying that there was "nothing I love more than a strong powerful woman." Easley concluded his remarks saying Clinton -- "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy".

In case anyone has been living under a rock, pansy is slang for "fag."

As a Southerner, I can tell you "pansy" has one meaning down South. No one in NC has ANY doubt what the Gov. means by "pansy". The mystery is why LGBT have been supporting her so much anyway. Are memories that short?:

Southerners were alarmed by Bill Clinton's SC fiasco because we are well accustomed to the "code words". Our politics and elections have been marred with it for years. Its why the GOP is rolling out their Rev. Wright commercials in Mississippi and Lousiana. Anti-black, Anti-gay gets traction in the South. It's a shame. Gov. Easley knows that and Hillary Clinton knows that.

I can tell you this Here in San Diego and south California in general gay and lesbian's are dropping Hillary like a hot potato. We have launch a massive effort here to educate the people of our community here to the truth of the Clinton's. I was kicked out of my job in the navy for being gay because of a campaign lie her husband sold us. No criminal record or disciplinary record of any kind many military awards and more than 100,000 spent on my education just to be kicked out because I live off base with my partner of 8 years! Some may not take this as a gay slur, but Easley has made other statements that have been clearly gay slurs. Easley is quite the character and uses some pretty inflamatory language.

here in Texas the term "pansy" is definitely a slur against homosexuals. Easley could have used the word "wimp" which means a weak man. Easley is definitely a WIMP !!!

This is deplorable. I support Obama, but you would have to be living under a rock to think that using the word "pansy" is "bashing" gays. The huffington Post is guilty of the worst kind of jouranlism. This headline is a joke, and some people may only read the headline.

The article, if read is obviously stupid. But if someone has faith in the Huffington Post, which I am losing daily they may take the headline at face value and the headline is the opposite of fact, IT IS A LIE.
