LOS ANGELES (AP) _ "CSI" co-star Gary Dourdan was arrested Monday for possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs, police said. The 41-year-old actor was found asleep in his car by the Palm Springs Police Department, authorities said.

An officer saw Dourdan's car parked on the wrong side of the street with the interior light on and someone sleeping in the driver's seat at approximately 5:12 a.m. Monday, according to Palm Springs police Sgt. Mitch Spike.

The officer described Dourdan as disoriented and possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The officer arrested Dourdan after locating suspected cocaine, heroin, Ecstacy, miscellaneous prescription drugs and paraphernalia. Dourdan was released on $5,000 bail at 10:30 a.m. Monday. A court date was not immediately scheduled.

Dourdan has played crime scene investigator Warrick Brown on CBS' "CSI" since 2000. Several celebrities were in town for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in nearby Indio, Calif. It was not immediately clear whether Dourdan attended the event.

Representatives for Dourdan did not immediately return phone calls Tuesday.

I CANNOT SAY I AM SURPRISED. LAST YEAR WE SAW THE BEGINING OF THSI DOWNWARD SPIRAL, WHEN HE ASALTED A REPORTER. AND THERE GOES ANOTHER ACTOR DOWN THE TOILET OF DRUGS, TOO MUCH $ AND WORKING IN THAT PLASTIC INDUSTRY.

What a shame. I really enjoy his acting. I hope that he can get and accept the help he needs to rid his life of this garbage.

Well, let's all hope and pray this talented actor gets the help and rehab he needs and doesn't continue on a downward spiral. Nobody would win, not him, not taxpayers throwing him in jail to the tune of 50k a year, and not audiences or coworkers.

a little too much "festival" in Coachella this weekend Gary?

this has been coming on for a long time with this guy, sadly.

he has major addiction issues and has displayed some very bizarre behavior in the last year or so

Something to remember every time we see on of those CSI episodes that end with an anti-drug sermon. (It's not every episode, thankfully.)

I tend to believe that the more a show preaches against drugs, the more likely those in the show are using. (I haven't seen that "DEA" show, but I expect to hear about arrests any day now.)

And, of course, this principle applies to politicians, too.

That is a pretty unique, oblique way to draw a conclusion. For the addict, drug use is a life and death matter. Get help or die from the disease, its just a matter of time. That ain't preachin', its just fact.

It's not a disease

It is a behavioral issue with possible underlying psychological issues, but hardly a diseade. The "disease" model of addiction comes from AA and the 12-steps, a direct descendant of the Funda-Christian Oxford Group Movement of the 1800's, and is rejected by 9/10 medical doctors.
