Kellyanne Conway

This afternoon on MSNBC, Republican strategist Kellyanne Conway and Democratic strategist Keith Boykin were discussing Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright, when Conway made a startling declaration, calling Hillary Clinton "the chief white woman in this country." Her full statement:

"The person who has criticized them is Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has been criticizing Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright. and I think that's the real issue, I think that's why Barack Obama had to push back. She is the chief white woman in this country, calling into question Jeremiah Wright's bonafides and she has made that issue on the campaign trail. Republicans aren't saying much about it at all, including John McCain. He had one thing to say about it early on."

Boykin immediately objected and Conway attempted to explain her statement, but a very wise Tamron Hall interrupted them and cut to commercial as fast as she could.

Uglybetty,
stop your lies and bias, you say;
"I certainly would not hang out with them ,nor call them Mentor and Teacher !"
We all know the Clintons have their share of dubious connections. Rendel lionizes Farrakhan and supports your girl, you should have a problem with that!

"Maybe you need to get your FACTS from somewhere other than posters at huffpo !"
exactly, take your hate and go away Uglybetty. Maybe you know Huffpost is more factual than other places you visit?

"But you and we are aware that Wright preaches Hate the Whites ,as a regular sermon , so stop trying to kid us."
Where are the snippets of Wright preaching hate for whites? As a regular sermon? Are you being spoonfed by Fox, maybe the drug addict Rush Lihmbaugh?

Yes, Wright was one of many ministers invited by the Clintons to save their tails during the Monica problem, but he was invited over a big scandal created by Bill and abeited by Hillary. Your Clintons are virtuous!

Kally:
Such perspective. How can we get your remarkable, well documented facts into the national debate? This could be as important to the presidency as bowling scores, and you have not even drawn the parallel. The nation, no, the world awaits your next gem. Be sure and get something new in there about "shit", because we just can't get enough of bloviary in our national discourse. Are you from Pencilvania?

Somehow or other the Obama followers always end up blaming Hillary Clinton for all of Obama's failings and lies. And then top it off with disgusting insults against Senator Clinton. It's sickening to read and sickening to listen to.

This is the same Rupublican strategist that stirred up controversy in March on "Larry King" when she equated Clinton offering Obama "a back seat on her bus" when Clinton offered Obama the VP spot on her ticket.

This woman either has a huge foot-in-mouth problem or she is intentionally stirring up racial controversy surrounding Obama, which will, sadly, I think, only help the GOP in the Fall.

Why is this news? HILLARY called herself the chief white woman back when she and Bill were still in the White House. The very first time a media person asked her about Bill being the "first black president", she politely said no, but she and the big lug were the first white couple. Google it, and see.

I'm not doing your homework for you. You are clearly making this up.

If your going to put up quotes that nobody else seems to know about, you should provide a link. Show us when Hillary referred to herself as "the chief white woman".

The brain trust Kellyanne also said Rev Wright was trying to poster himself himself as a civil rights leader in the black community, but that role belongs to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Yes, she actually said this....

Tamron Hall is extremely attractive and appears to be very insightful; it was quite surprising to see her on Hardball speaking about Trinity Church. Matthews at one point attempted to paint her as a regular member, and at her first opportunity to respond, she corrected the record and him by noting that Trinity was one of 2 AA churches in Chicago to attend for those interested in building their business contacts; something commonly done in most religious institutions, and noting that she was not a member but instead she had attended its services several times 2 or 3.

As much as one may wish the MSM would change, it simply can not as long as the host are homogeneous white males with basic blinders on full bore, as they pander to the same audience which polls in the first place to keep them in place, and diversity in the shadows.

You are dead on. The only problem I see here is that Arianna, or her editorial staff decided to snag this gaff from a Republican strategist to try to look Clinton look bad. They do that often, how is Clinton responsible for the racist remarks coming out of Kellyanne's mouth?

"how is Clinton responsible for the racist remarks coming out of Kellyanne's mouth?"

She's not. The posting of this ridiculous statement from a news talking head isn't here to reflect badly on Clinton. I can't imagine how you would think that anyone would think that it does.

The video shows an idiot going out of her way to criticize Clinton. She is clearly wrong. Clinton has been relatively quite about Wright. Certainly her campaign knew about him and the sort of comments he's made and is likely to make. As far as I can tell, they've done little (and needed to do little) to make it anational issue.

I agree that HuffPo is biased towards Obama, but this clip is more about making other news people look like fools than it is about making Clinton look bad.

I want to know what you White Women (regardless of whom you support) think about this?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:34 AM on 04/30/2008

It's contemptible, but so much of what we hear from the media elite is contemptible these days (that includes the Head Huffer here at HuffPost). It's designed to fan the flames of racism and sexism because if the "little people" are distracted by inflammatory issues, they'll overlook the fact that they are being robbed blind by the powers that be. I think, in his heart of hearts, Obama is a nice guy, but I support Hillary because she is more competent to run the country. The demonization of Hillary Clinton by the media will result in increased support for her candidacy because we know she is being railroaded...and wonder why.

I'm sorry, but sometimes I wonder if we are all watching the same election coverage. There has definitely been some Clinton coverage that has been negative, more so at the start of the year with the loss in Iowa, Bill Clinton and South Carolina, and then the Tuzla issue that was covered for all of a day or two. OTHERWISE, Senator Obama is covered day and night by all of the networks in a negative fashion. He is now fighting the media, Clintons and their surrogates, Republicans, McCain, and now, Jeremiah Wright.

I guess the moral of the story is that we each see what we want to see. I'm guessing that most would agree, however, that Obama is getting the short stick in positive coverage, at least over the past 6 - 8 weeks.

White woman here, moderate. Hillary is not my chief. I've read her books and I've read books about her. If I were going to have a "Chief Woman" represent me, she could be black or white. I don't care. I would want someone who conducted themselves with dignity, wisdom and most of all, an unwavering sense of integrity. These aren't qualities that strike me with Hillary. I am voting for Obama.

I think that the media would have more compelling stories by examining whiteness.

If Obama and Reverand Wright are figureheads for the black community and Hillary and McCain are figureheads for the white community, then why is the politics of destruction acceptable? Why is it ok to take the low road? Why is it ok to "analyze" the Reverand Wright story, ad nauseum?

I think it's time to examine whiteness with as much ferver as we are examining Obama and Rev. Wright.

Here's what we do know, and Clinton Supporter organized the National Press Club event. Giving Jeremiah Wright just enough room to be a menace to the Obama campaign. Obama has no choice but to denounce him, and all of a sudden, HRC goes after McCaina and defends J.W. When she said weeks before "he would not have been my pastor"... Seems to me, a calculated attempt to split the AA vote. Just my take...

I totally agree with you. That was the plan from the very beginning. That's why MSM always made a point that black america was voting in such high numbers for Senator Obama and that Senator Clinton was losing the black vote. She needs to get it back and this was her way of getting it. Both sides of this campaign said that they did not believe Senator Obama believed the words that were said but yet they wanted him to seperate himself from the man and by way of seperating from the black community. That's why at first it was (oh he is not black enough) then it's (oh he's to black because of this pastor) They would not admit that white america was voting for him as well as others. They played the race card. SNEAKY.

Here are some real facts.

It is time for the Republican-controlled Media to give this Wright controversy some fairness and enquire of Hillary Clinton and her surrogates the following: Isn’t it true that, Hillary surrogate, Congresswoman Shiela Jackson Lee, is also a devotee of Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright; that he's been preaching at her home church, where she is actively involved, annually for the past 15 years and has an open invitation to return, and, that she sat in the pews for his visits and did not bat an eye?

Isn’t it true that Hillary surrogate, Rev. Marcia Dyson was not only a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ but also still considers Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright her pastor? That Rev. Marcia Dyson's seminary education, in part, was sponsored by Trinity UCC and encouraged by Rev. Wright? And was it not at Trinity were she first met her husband, Rev. Dr. Michael Dyson, who's been very vocal in his defense of Rev. Wright.?

And, lastly of Hillary Clinton, that if Rev. Wright would not have been her Pastor, then why did she and Bill when going through Impeachment, turn to Rev. Wright for Prayer and Support and invite him to the White House in 1998? These things should be asked and answered by Hillary. There were many other Revs. They could have invited.

Keep in mind the background of anyone invited to the Whitehouse is checked and rechecked by the Secret Service.
