Josef Fritzl May Only Get 15 Years For Repeatedly Raping Daughter, AP Reports

New video broadcast today shows Fritzl on vacation while his daughter and children were locked in the basement. The video shows Fritzl smiling as he receives a massage on the beach. Apparently, he also boasted to one of his tenants that one day his house would go down in history. Very chilling.

By now we've all heard the horrific reports on the Austrian incest and imprisonment case. According to the AP, Josef Fritzl, the man who imprisoned and raped his daughter for 24 years AND kept his children/grandchildren hostage, will only get 15 years if convicted of the rape charges.

Fritzl faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted on rape charges, the most grave of his alleged offenses. However, prosecutors said Tuesday they were investigating whether he can be charged with "murder through failure to act" in connection with the infant's death, which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Fritzl's lawyer, Rudolf Mayer, said his client was under psychiatric care. Asked whether he showed any remorse, Mayer said: "I cannot say at this point."

Fritzl "is really hit by this. He is very serious, but he is emotionally broken," Mayer told The Associated Press.

Wow, it's cases like this that prove the point that the death penalty, as it is applied in the world today, is simply racist. If this were a black man, he would be executed.

You may be right, but this case doesn't prove it. Austria banned the death penalty in 1950.

Generally I'm not a supporter of the death penalty, but in this case, I think it's warranted. I mean, what the hell do you DO with someone like this? I mean, this is the worst thing to come out of Austria since ol' Hitler hisself!

I wonder what the prison terms will be for the mormons in Texas that have been raping thier 12 and 13 year old children?

Chances are that the Mormons and other religious fanatics will be defend their behavior as a religious act that should not be interfered with by the Government.

Religious fanatics rejoice, rape is legal as long as you pray before you you do it.

I never fail to be amazed at the depth of depravity the human mind is capable of.

He may only receive a 15 year jail term, but how long will he survive there? It's likely a portion of the prison population will render their own death penalty on the guy. However satisfying that thought may or may not be, it won't take the place of the justice his family deserves.
