Aaron Brown: Olbermann Is "Smarter, Funnier, Better Read, And Eminently More Talented" Than O'Reilly

Aaron Brown is back. Earlier this week, it was reported that he will be joining PBS' "Wide Angle" show and now, in an interview with TVNewser's Gail Shister, he's throwing punches and taking sides in the Olbermann-O'Reilly battle:

Brown says he never felt like a real cable guy. That doesn't exclude him from having opinions about it, thankfully.

His take on the battle at 8 p.m. between MSNBC and Fox News Channel, for example:

Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly "are both larger-than-life figures," he says, but Olbermann is "smarter, funnier, better read and eminently more talented."

Try watching Countdown once or twice in the next couple of days. If you can manage to look past the arrogance and egoism of Keith Olbermann and pay attention to what he says rather than how he says it, you'll hear a lot of truth. If you want to be spoon fed lies that make you feel good and give you a false sense of security go ahead and keep watching O'Reilly.

Here's a fact: when it comes to the truth, Olbermann rarely gets it wrong. And when he does, he admits it. I defy anyone to debunk that. That's why O'Reilly won't refute any of Olbermann's accusations on his show. He knows he can't stand up to the scrutiny.

Keith possesses an incisive intellect and talent never seen before in broadcasting. I never related to him much as a sports reporter, but in covering the news he has no match. His wit, humor and intelligence is appreciated greatly in the vast wasteland of insipid and valueless reporting of events by ABC, CBS and NBC during the evening lull. O' Reilly is devoid of wit, humor and for the most part intelligent reporting because his partisan views and anger cloud any attempt at rational analysis of the serious problems facing this nation. MSNBC has created a "national treasure" at 8PM M-F. All citizens, voters and taxpayers must be part of his audience to know what is really affecting their country, their daily lives and pocketbooks.

Olbermann presents opinion as you see it. He never lets silly things like facts get in his way....As far as well read, I don't consider HuffPost, DailyKos, Media Matters and all the other blue blogs' talking points as good reading. Maybe that's why there's never a contradictory opinion on Olbermann's show.
