Clinton Base

ABC News:

Hillary Clinton campaigned Wednesday in Indianapolis, on the same day that Indiana superdelegate and former Clinton supporter Joe Andrew announced he was switching his allegiance to Barack Obama. Clinton says she's not worried about Joe Andrew's endorsement of Obama....

Clinton called her base of support "broader and deeper" than Obama's, and said, "At the end of the day, that's what it should be about for Democrats. You know, it is who can better win. And I've won the big states. I've won the states that we have to anchor. If we had the Republican rules, I would already be the nominee."

Please, feel free to join the Republicans. We won't stop you.

The Hillary-hating base is also much broader and deeper than the anti-Obama base, and it'll flex its muscle in November if she's nominated...

When this campaign is over, I hope Clinton joins the GOP. I didn't vote for her for president, I will never again vote for her for senator and therefore if she wants to get reelected she'd better join LIeberman and Zell Miller and embrace the Republicans.

She will never win another election if she doesn't carry the African-American vote and most New Yorkers are having buyers remorse and she's history.

Did you hear about the HRC-linked women's-vote group putting out the NC push-polls designed to dampen turnout in Black neighborhoods? It was on NPR yesterday.

One thing HRC has proven: women play just as dirty as guys.

I voted for her twice for senate.

No more. If she wins the nomination, it will be because of Republican Rove/Atwater-style deception and dirty tricks. I will leave the Democratic Party and become an Independent. Many others will, too

Yes, Hillary should be the Republican nominee, she acts like one. Plus if the Democrats would play by Republican rules, Obama would have cinched the nomination since it would of been winner takes all.

As far as her having a deeper base, that is crazy. She has uneducated woman, older woman and older voters and Latinos (prior to the Judas comments about Richardson). Obama has liberals, youth, blacks educated women and men, anyone under 45, independents and some Republicans who will also vote for him in the fall unlike those Operation Chaos Republicans.

I voted for her 2 times for senate as well and yes I am troubled by her actions and tactics in this election. More than troubled I am angered and offended. I voted for Obama and think he is by far the superior candidate and I expect him to carry the nomination despite all the dirty tricks..

How ever I think it is important to keep in mind one thing.

Come November no matter who gets the nomination.

Democrats must come together and vote Democrat with out fail.

All emotions aside we are taking about nothing less than saving America. No matter how battered you pride or how hurt your feelings or how bruised your sense of fairness is WE CAN NOT ALLOW THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO TAKE THE WHITE HOUSE IN NOVEMBER.

the truth is Politics is ugly, republican politics is ugly, destructive and a failure.

Reality check Clinton: You aren't in the GOP but you act like a Republican. Why don't you just switch sides!!

search youtube for Indiana? Those people are ...." , This is the supposed candidate that loves the blue collar vote. yeah, right. Mickey Kantor, Clinton Staffer is making fun of the good people of Indiana.

Yup, tell it like it is Hill. And if you had campaigned as a Republican through their primaries, you would BE the Republican nominee now. Ain't that what ya should have done? Yes, you should have switched to the GOP two years ago and set this up properly! And then you'd have had the right and natural home for your crass, opportunistic, degraded and debased campaign, with the full, rather than implicit, support of Karl, Rush and all the good ol' boys. Go figure, woman.

Hillary has the backing of the Military industrial complex. They know that she and Obama will go along and get along with their war for Oil politics. It is a simple equation do you want to cast a vote for change for a new order that once again places the Military industrial complex in a position tht is subservient to the wishes of the American people or do we as citizens continue our posture as serfs.

When Bear Stearns insiders buy up huge amounts of short positions 2 weeks before they implode the bank and the Federal reserve hands these the ivies Billions of your tax money basically slathering bankers with untold wealth and riches.

When a president and his vice president award billions and billions of dollars in no bid contracts to their business associates . Moving billions of dollars worht of machinery to Iraq while outr infrastructure crumbles.

Hillarys answer is to put every
Americans Ass in ice cream with a thirty or forty dollar tax rebate for the summer . The Administrative cost alone will eclipse any chimera of hope she is offering. Tax big oil and they raise prices .
We need to move away from the politics of bullshit and ignorance. the American people are owed more. We sacrifice our lives our children's lives and our riches for what?

More idiotic, insulting policy decisions from the likes of Hillary's broad support? Hillarys Ass is showing broad support kick her and this insulting policy to the

Deeper and broader? Honey that is that thing you call your ass.....not base. Judging from what I've seen it has gotten much broader and deeper during the primary season. But hey, it is probably camera angle. I keep forgetting media are out to get you.

I like both Clinton and Obama and think they should run together. But for the record, Clinton leads among traditional Democrats and from a statistical standpoint these voters can be counted on to show up and vote for a Democratic candidate in the GE. Independents and cross over repubs may or may not vote for a Dem Candidate during the GE.

Obama putting Clinton on his ticket would be the ONLY way he could lose my vote!

Same here. It would be like Edwards endorsing Clinton. It would show the candidate didn't mean a damn thing of what he said.

Sounds like Clinton spin. Obama "leads" in pledged delegates, the popular vote and states won. I wonder why you assume Independents and Republicans who choose to step outside of their political box and vote for a candidate they wouldn't normally vote for wouldn't show up in a historical election.

Enough of the "dream ticket" more like a "nightmare ticket". I don't give a crap about bittergate, pin-gate, Rev. Wright or any other manufactured scandal, putting that lying evil republican witch on the ticket is a problem and THAT would keep me from voting for Barack.

fiona2,

Senator Obama has the ability to change the electorial map, a la 1992, minus Arizona but with the addition of Colorado and Virginia.

First time voters and the youth vote do turn out, that's the hallmark of a change election. When someone can inspire people, anything is possible.

Obama will not win any of the western states like Colorado. The General election brings out all the regular democratic voters who did not vote in the caucuses. The core dems are the older voters who vote absentee and the working class voters.

Obama cannot even talk about the environmental issues that dems have to deal with out here in the west. He does not know the country. He may know about city life but not the issues in the country.

Dear hillary

Why don't you leave the Democratic party that you have recently destroyed. Team up with another useless dirtbag like Lieberman - he wanted to invade Iran like you do. Or go all the way and suck up to McCain

Hillary Clinton say, "If I were a Republican I would have won the nomination".
Just goes to show how dumb you are Hillary you should have joined the Republican party and run as a Republican, anyway Hillary you still have time, John McCain is ahead, but he hasn't been nominated yet. Which incidentally is what you're doing to Obama, he's ahead but he hasn't been nominated yet.

Look Hillary if you switch over now, you could make a strong argument to the delegates that you have more popular votes, way more and you have the Democrats and Republicans voting for you. Added to that you have the following backers in your corner:

Joe Scarsborough
Pat Buchannan
Newt Gingrich
Bill Cristol
John McCain
Rush Limbaugh
Ann Coulter

The Democrats don't appreciate you like the Republicans do, switch parties, all the top Republicans are waiting to welcome you home.

BTW Hillary could you please take Bill Clinton and Chelsea with you.

If hillary likes the Republican rules so freakin much, she has made a very bad mistake!
The republican rules for their primary votes, like the Republican policies are very much closer to Hillary's view.
If Hillary would have only ran for the nomination of the Republican party, she would possibly be the Republican nominee by now also.
If Hillary was in Venezuala, she may be the current decieder for that country by corination.

She is right. Look at national polls, she beats McCain where it matters. Obama can have Idaho, Utah etc. because it doesn't matter in the general.

Yep Illionois, WI, Colarado, VI, Missouri doesnt matter either. But of course it makes sense for Hilary to just believe that the big states are what matters she can go and govern with half the country not supporting her. Thats where her and Obama's politics different he is smart enough to see that you cant govern with half the country against you thats why he wants to bring in other states. Iowa may not matter to some but they have 2 SENATORS like NY and CA. And if you can get Iowans to pressure their two senators like the other states you can get things pass. But if Iowans didnt vote for you and they have two senators in congress if you think they are going to get on board with your policies your dreaming. Thats why every state matters.

A jury found hillary clinton's pastor, Rev. William Procanick, guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Why isn't this covered in the MSM?
