A new poll suggests that George W. Bush is the most unpopular president in modern American history.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his handling his job as president.

George Bush is certainly a deplorable leader and I have no desire to minimize that. But, in my mind Richard Nixon wins hands down as the very worst of all time.
James Buchanan was the worst president of all time. Followed by Warren Harding. Bushie is third, tied with Frank Pierce.

Gotta disagree there... Nixon's main disaster was Vietnam, but at least he finally bended to the will of the people and eventually left in disgrace. He was merely a victim of power lust.
Bush has done infinitely more overall harm to every aspect of our country, on purpose it seems to me. He said from day one he would not be swayed by public opinion, (he at least lived up lived up to one of his promises) and is likely to escalate with Iran before thumb his nose at all the schmucks who voted for him, and sneak back to Texas, land of feedlots and cattle dung, where he belongs.
Bush even wins in the overall body count division (counting Iraqi citizens, but who counts them?). More US soldiers dead than 9/11 victims... oh, I keep forgetting... "Mission Accomplished." That's got to win Dumbest (or perhaps Sickest) Joke of the Century, no?
I can't WAIT to see Bush's pardon list...

The cloud inside this silver lining is that McCain had to embrace Bush's policies in order to win the Republican nomination, and now he's running pretty close in the polls with Obama and Clinton. That shows Bush is still appealing to his base. McCain was against the two tax cuts-- now for them. He was always for the Iraq war, but now praises Bush's handling of it. McCain was against torture, now-- not so much.
And there are more clouds gathering on the horizon: most ex-presidents build a library. Bush is going to start a think tank. And all those years of giving billions to the oil, defense, and health-care industries won't have been in vain-- they'll give millions back to his think tank. So we'll have guest "experts" interviewed on CNN and top ten bestsellers on the New York Times list with titles like _Bush: Greater than Lincoln?_ and _How Bush Saved The World_. This will go on for decades and the myth of George Bush will grow in stature.
Meanwhile, President Obama will probably be blamed for all of Bush's failures in Iraq and the economy.
Good luck to them, with that.

There are an awful lot of people who would benefit greatly by proving George Bush stole either the 2000 election and the 2004 election. But there have never been any voter fraud charges against Bush or the GOP.

BTW, Gore and the Democrats DID protest the Florida count. Problem is, they didn't protest loud enough or long enough (I do fault Gore for that). Plus, you can't do much when the Supreme Court rules against you. Kerry would have had a good case in Ohio but, again, he just didn't have the gumption to do it (I do fault Kerry for that).

I averaged out all his numbers for April, 29%, usually he breaks 32%, the question is how much lower can this guy go, only 28% of the electorate are registered Republicans, so that is the rock bottom base. Moderate Republicans have left the GOP a long time ago. Little Bush’s presidency collapsed a year after his reelection, because of the war he started went bad, his slow reaction to Katrina and it’s aftermath, pandering to the bible thumpers with his opposition to stem cell research, a volatile stock market and runaway oil prices, perpetual main street recession, social security privatization which he should have ran away from, after his party ran away from him, corruption, I can go on, but my figures are getting tired.
The jury is in, George W. Bush SUCKS, as well as Dick Cheney and his neo-con friends, not to mention his whole shit-kicker administration, since the smart ones have already been fired. George could have saved his legacy 2 years ago, but he was to pig headed to work with the Senate and the House, and his tool that the aliens left, Mitch McConnell, either filibustered or Bush vetoed at least 65% of what the country wanted. This pitiful excuse for a president deserves much more than a low-approval rating and a pension for his actions and inactions. He deserves an all-expense paid, one-way trip to prison.
My hope is that after the GE the Dem will get some balls and Impeach the hole Bush administration.
