Quinnipiac:

Winning among white working class voters, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton holds strong leads over Arizona Sen. John McCain - and runs much better than Illinois Sen. Barack Obama - in three critical swing states, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to three simultaneous Quinnipiac University Swing State polls released today. If Sen. Obama is the Democratic nominee, he's in a tight race with McCain in Florida and Ohio, but takes Pennsylvania.

This is Sen. Clinton's strongest overall performance since the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University began special surveys two years ago in the three largest and most important swing states in the Electoral College. This latest survey finds:

Obama improving against McCain in states like PA, Ohio and Florida spells BAD NEWS for Hilary because if he can beat mcCain for those states and considering how he does in the middle section of the country Hilary's argument about big swing states is DEAD. He can win those and put other states into play.

Why isn't the 2.3 Billion $ earmarks of Hillary making more news. That is 7$ per man, woman, infant, and child in the USA. Where is the TV add asking Indiana voters what they think of 7$ of every state resident going to wealthy New York

We need to make this a HUGE story

Because the initial report from "The Hill" magazine was entirely misleading. Hillary did request 2.3b in earmarks (for pork barrel projects like expanded health care, first responders communications updates, and educational grants) BUT only 400m+ was actually approved, half of what the highest APPROVED total was.

And before you go off on some tangent about how wasteful this spending must be, please consider that the New Deal couldn't have happened without it, a man would never have walked on the moon, the internet wouldn't exist, hospitals, roads, and schools wouldn't be built, public transportation in cities would collapse in disrepair, and so forth. While not perfect, earmarks are NOT the evil some Libertarian groups have made them out to be. In fact, they've been a critical element in any state's representatives ability to get federal dollars directly to the areas where their constituents need it.

The conspirreason this 2.3billion$ earmark of Hillary (POLITICAL)is not making more news is that the TV ad in Indiana 1)might not know. and 2)TV media might be owned(affiliated) by CNN or MSNBC or NBC, in which as the Huffington Post last week articles have shamelessly hired military Pundits to go on TV to convince Americans about the Iraq war.....and Huffington Post's GREAT article regarding "Shamless journalism..ALL ties together...The pentagon has controll over the TV MEDIA...Point in case....some people would call this "abuse of power."...Look at FACTUAL History...War in Irag...FACT: Reported Pentagon Pundits Suspended from speaking on TV...Fact: Military Pundits REPLACED by Tony Snow, Press Secretary to President Bush has been hired by CNN to baby sit Cnn Anchors and journalists last week..HuffingtonPost 4-24-08 FACT: Reports of deceased Clinton associates...type in ASK.com, type in Clinton Body Count, INCREDABLE FACT: John Glasgow disappears amid audit on Clinton Presidential Library 1-28-08..FACT: no nat'l TV coverage: FACT: Clinton EXTEND 07 Tax Returns...FACT": " I never had sex with that woman" and Hillary's "I remember running from snipper fire in Bosnia".....Presidential? you bet cha. The Democratic Leadership already KNOWS Obama cannot win the general election, they know HRC can win.....but they dont care.

1. They dont want to alienate the blacks.

2. They are more concerned about gettting a bigger majority in the house and senate, and think Obama on top of the ticket will do that.

3. They dont want to alienate the blacks.

4 They dont want to alienate the blacks

There is no "youth movement" for Obama. Just a black one. Clinton has won (white) voters 18-29 by 53-47% over Obama.

This is a ridiculous argument and a ridiculous Poll. I would remind you that Gore, Kerry, B. Clinton were all much more ahead five months before their elections in these states and others states: Hillary was 20 points over everyone five months ago in this nomination process;

Obama is now being hit by both enemy fire and friendly fire and of course no one is paying any attention to Hillary's problems- there are a hell of lot more than an ex-pastor problem- and frankly the general election has not even started yet.

And as to your assertion that Hillary has the Youth vote if they are white- you are delusional.
This is a Nomination Process. The Youth are going for the DEMOCRAT and Obama is going to get them out.

Obama will win the delegate race. It's a given.

There is no indication or reason whatsoever for the Democratic Leadership to think that Clinton can win and Obama cannot.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:51 PM on 05/01/2008

And you base these wild assertions on what concrete knowledge? There's no youth movement for Obama? OK, now I know you're just jerking my chain.

Following this kind of argument, we shouldn't waste our time for primaries because the one who had won the primaries can be said he will not win the general election so we should choose the loser to be the nominee? What kind of spin is this? Why don't you read the article about 'What Obama should have said about Clinton" to know what else in the Clintons' closets for the Repub to dig? Do you really think people pay Bill hundred of millions just for talking? Do you really? It seems you chose to read all about what Obama's pastor but only what the Clintons' spins for your ears and eyes.

Your argument is just plain dumb but it does follow your recurring theme of blacks, blacks, blacks. Are you sure you're not just a right-wing troll who has race issues to grind?

Hum. Luckily I don't put too much stock in liberal media or I would never have known that McCain and whoever the Democrats finally decide who they want their candidate to be are in a virtual statistical tie across the nation.

The truth is out there, sheeple.

Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll, lol

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:27 PM on 05/01/2008

how honest of you to try to lead people to believe that this article only references one poll from FOX. I know how much Obama supporters value HONESTY.

In reality the article refers to the following group of polls:

FOX News Opinion Dynamics
NBC / Wall Street Journal
NYT / CBS
Quinnipac
Mason Dixon
Insider Advantage

LEt's hope that's just wishful thinking on the part of FoxNews, Hillary's new best friends.

YOu keep posting poll information to those polls you have found that have Hillary has having the advantage.

How about posting ALL polls. It would show a wide variance in statistics.

Thank you for pointing out that Obama has gained ground in Pennsylvania and Florida. Everyone else seems to just be focusing on the fact that Clinton looks stronger in those three states, which has always been the case. She will probably have an easier time in those three states, but Obama looks stronger in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Washington, and Oregon, all of which are must-win states for Democrats. He also looks more competitive in Colorado, Nevada, and Virginia, and could even put solid red states like North Dakota and Kansas into play (before you laugh, 2 polls have shown Obama competitive in North Dakota).

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:39 PM on 05/01/2008

There is not and has not been ONE single poll that shows obama can win any of these "other" states you all claim he will make competitive.

It is a sham.

Yes, and you are a party insider privvy to all kinds of inside information so we should trust you right?
What's a sham is Clinton supporters too stupid to accept that she lost and she is in the process of destroying the party. But like a little lemming you and your pal NCMAn just keep on beliving she can somehow win. It's sad really. It provides me with entertainment but it is sad.

It's no sham. Right now Obama is running against two Clintons and a McCain. When it's Obama vs. McCain, the Bush surrogate crumbles into dust like the desicated mummy he is. Democrats, enough Republicans who still have some sanity left and independents will see to that.

I fail to understand the purpose of taking polls, which if actually done with a sizable sample of people surveyed would amount to nothing more than a popularity contest.

Pollsters earn millions to predict how people will perform in an election. If they survey one hundred people their results may sway the rest of the people inducing them to either not vote because the person they like is winning or not vote because the person they don't like is losing. Either way it ends up with a negative effect.

If pollsters are given the power of clairvoyance, ability to see the future, then why not just ask the pollster to install a president, senator, representative, etc. Why spend millions to actually hold elections?

You have to read the fine print. This poll was taken at a community hall during a bingo match.

Useles info. The Dem nominee and McCain haven;t had a chance to go toe to toe. They havent debated, they havent stumped against each other (much). Its still anyone's game, but the Dems have the clear advantage given the last 7 years.

Youre dislike of Obama has seriously hampered your reasoning.
Obama, young, good looking and articulate, able to explain complex problems in simple terms without being condescending. John McCain, doddering, old, looks physically ill on a good day, can't keep Sunni and Shia straight, hell can't keep anything straight. Obama will clean the floor with McCain ina debate. Why do you dislike the nominee of the Democratic Party so much you'd abandon all objective reasoning?

I wonder how many republicans they surveyed that say they will vote for Hilary but come November they vote for McCain instead. I wonder how many AA thats wont show up because of how Hilary has behaved in this primary.

BTW didnt polls have her husband losing when he ran and then he end up winning the election. Didnt Kerry win PA but lose it in the general election. If anyone thinks that HIlary will win Florida in the general well I have a bridge to sell you. I would put Florida and Ohio on the Repugs side.

Boy is this a great point. I sadly listen to Talkradio- in San Diego we have no liberal station it being sold at the request of the far right to become a sports station- And right now Talk Radio is being very kind to Hillary., Heck O'Rielly was kind. These polls thus reflect a conscious effort by the Right to bolster Hillary in any fashion that they can. If she was to become the nominee that would change quickly and the real hatchets would come out.

Please remember that this is the influence of the limbaugh democrats, not true democrats. Hillary and the neocons are definitely in league. Besides, Kerry was ahead of bush everywhere before the slime machine was cranked up. Hillary will recieve more slime than Barack. She has never stopped being a Goldwater girl.

These are all machine-politics states, right? With a lot of older voters, right?

Yeah, that would figure.

But, she'll NEVER win the general. Ever.
