Winning among white working class voters, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton holds strong leads over Arizona Sen. John McCain - and runs much better than Illinois Sen. Barack Obama - in three critical swing states, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to three simultaneous Quinnipiac University Swing State polls released today. If Sen. Obama is the Democratic nominee, he's in a tight race with McCain in Florida and Ohio, but takes Pennsylvania.

This is Sen. Clinton's strongest overall performance since the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University began special surveys two years ago in the three largest and most important swing states in the Electoral College. This latest survey finds:

I saw this today, and HAD to share it with everyone. It is just a brilliantly researched and written list of inconsistencies with several of Obama's stories. I think it should be done for ALL three candidates, but I guess this is a good way to start at finally looking at the candidates with some honesty.

I am not looking at it because if savage did it there is no honesty to it.

that web site has no affiliation to Michael Savage. It is a completely different source.

It was a real interesting read. After all, we are trying to choose a person for the most powerful job in the world. Our future depends on getting this right, for a change. The past 7.25 years have nearly doomed us. Let's all think this through very careful.

Savage = brilliant? Surely you jest.

Are you a Republican? I mean, a conservative Republican? Otherwise, why would you take anything he says as true? Seriously. You should question yourself.

Thanks for the link but it's worthless. If everyone used those standards then everyone would be a liar by the authors definition. I feel bad for the author. They wasted a lot of time and effort for nothing.

these polls mean nothing.
as soon as Obama becomes the nominee they will switch drastically to him.

and hillary will be gone for ever.
thats the best thing that will happen from all this.

I am happy to see that now Obama could actually beat McCain in Florida. I thought he didn't have a chance before. He caught up to him. Also, I think the poll for Ohio is biased for McCain against Obama. I think Obama will get more of the white vote than what the poll says. Yoo Hoo, Obama is kicking McCain's but in PA now v last poll.

Interesting when polls don't favor Obama the Obama supporters dismiss them they don't mean anything ,and when they favor him can't shut you up,the only candidate that can win in November is Clinton ,so the democrats will have to ask themselves do you want to lose in November or win if you want to win Clinton is the only candidate who can win.

The Clinton election strategy is that the only states that count are OH and FL and maybe PA. She ends up ignoring all the other red and purples states.

Obama and the DNC are about a 50 state strategy. That means compete in all 50 states regardless of what color they are. He has a strong chance to win states that Hillary has no chance in, states like VA, GA, NC, CO, NM. And he will expand his vote count in traditionally Democratic states like CA, OR MN. If the DNC wants to expand the base of the party, it only makes sense to go with Obama. And Obama will better anything Hillary could muster in both electoral votes and popular votes.

Don't forget that Hillary has a negative rating of 53% and the majority of the country thinks she's a liar.

Plus, for the long-term interest of the party, having a presidential candidate utilizing the 50-state strategy and campaigning throughout the nation to reach voters is preferable to having a candidate who will ignore (and even belittle) most states and their voters. The party has a choice -- stay stuck in the mud of the past or jump ahead of the Republicans by moving into the future with this election.

The Clintons former pastor was sentenced Friday to THREE YEARS IN PRISON for inappropriately touching a 7yr old in his home last March by judge Micheal Dwyer.
Accountable by Association ??

Why is Hillary pastor getting a pass. Why isn"t this story in the news?

THERE IS CLEARLY A DOUBLE STANDARD HERE or are we saying child molestation is OK in America, just like we don't ask Catholics to denounce, reject the Pope who has shielded and harbored their thousands of priest who have molested tens of thousands of young children.

What's wrong with our thinking, There is something fundamentally wrong with this picture.

If you show that this pastor was also advocating child molestation from the pulpit, then it's an analogous story. Wright's offenses were public, not hidden, and the fallout for Obama is that he should have walked away from an extremist preacher whose views are out of the mainstream.

Yeah, politicians should walk away from 'extremist preacher(s) whose views are out of the mainstream.' Like Jerry Falwell and William Donohue. Oh, and Mike Huckabee who doesn't believe in evolution. And John Hagee, who said gays in NO caused Katrina and called Catholics whores. And Rod Parsley, who wants to start a holy war with Islam.

And you know, while we're at it, maybe Catholics, like Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, should repudiate their church since they condoned child molestation even though the top brass knew about it. And hey, wasn't the Pope in the Hitler Youth? That doesn't seem very mainstream.

Geez, I can think of at least a dozen more pastors who are 'out of the mainstream' but my typing fingers are tired from listing all these crimes.

This is what I've been saying for weeks now. Hillary can take Fla. Obama can't. Fla. (my home state) is made up "huntin', fishin' types" who live off Rush Limpballs and his ilk. The rest is Latino, with a few liberals sprinkled in there around Orlando/Tampa/St. Pete. Forget Miami. Too many Cubans. I can't speak to the rest of the states mentioned....don't know anyone from there.

There's a good chance Charlie Crist will be McCain's VP and carry the state for the Repubs, no matter who the Dem is.

But Obama has not campaigned at all in FL, so you can't really trust those numbers.

Hillary can't take Florida. That's Rush Limbaugh's home base. He supports her now so he can tear her down in the general.

wait a minute here now. We all know that Obama is going to pick up CO, IA, VA, MO, NM, NV to make up for these losses.

FL, PA, OH = 68 electoral votes LOST

Obama picks up IA and CO = 16 electoral votes

Obama is currently losing to McCain in VA, MO, NM, NV = 34 electoral votes LOST

In MIssissippi, even dems are claiming they don't know Obama.

Latest Clinton talking point?

Obama is about 250delegates from clinching the nomination and you are trying to do what with polls that will change over time? Obama will win NM, Obama will win VA, and NV, Missouri maybe a little bit more difficult but just wait until Obama gets on McCain and the media scrutiny begins.

Obama is going to win Ohio and Pennsylvania. And Florida would be more competitive than it is now since the Cliton's are trying to say that Obama is the reason why the vote isn't counting or delegate being seated. It will happen and the healing can begin. Obama is plenty capable of winning Florida. He has never campained the and I am sure he would go to Florida the sooner he gets the nomination.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:21 AM on 05/01/2008

And you honestly think Obama would lose all 3 PA, OH, and FL and Hilalry would take all 3 based on polls taken 6 months before the election and we should choose Hillary based on this nonsense? Good thing you aren't running the party.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:56 PM on 05/01/2008

Yeah, and plenty of other polls have shown her losing those states, and many blue states like Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, Michigan, etc...how is she supposed to win if she can't carry blue states against McCain? Screw swing states.

Wrong, these polls do not tke into account tuesday when Obama denounced Wright, as a result they aren't accurate, most polls are taken over 3-4 days and the ones shown today ended yesterday or the day before, meaning they don't show how people reacted to the denunciation, tommorow and saturday will show a better measure of Obama's position

The Media is calling this race and is going to pummel Clinton in the GE. The will dog her like never before. Wright is good for now but they know they have crap on her that has yet to hit the nationals. They are salivating at the mouths for her. They haven’t touch McCain and they aren’t. And idiots that can only see color are going to watch her fry and desert her old butt for an older more senile WHITE MAN in the GE.
