John Gibson Mocks Rachel Maddow's Sexuality: "Ooh, Lesbians! Yummy!"

On his radio show yesterday, Fox News host John Gibson made fun of Air America host/MSNBC analyst Rachel Maddow, playing a clip that says "Ooh, lesbians! Yummy!" after airing audio of her discussing media coverage of Jeremiah Wright. Maddow is a lesbian.

John Gibson isn't worthy of shining Rachel Maddow's sensible shoes. Rachel Maddow studied at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and holds a doctorate in Political Science. In addition to hosting a three-hour show five days a week on Air America Radio, she was recently hired as a political commentator on MSNBC and was tapped by Kieth Olberman himself to host Countdown in his place the last time he took a day off. She is wicked smart and capable of holding her own in a heated political debate without resorting to personal attacks against her opponents. John Gibson is a right-wing political hack who couldn't even make it on FOX News Channel, now desperately trying to hang on to his failing radio show by appealing to the lunatic fringe who consider Michael "Savage" Weiner too high-brow. The only way he can even get his name in a headline these days is by insulting someone with the talent and charisma he lacks.

Rachel's smart and insightful and, I believe, the only one of MsNbc's on-air personalities who appreciates her is Keith. The rest aren't a bit comfortable with a brainy Rhodes Scholar, outspoken and out Rachel Maddow.

Case in point? Scarborough. Man, you can see those little eyes get even narrower when Rachel speaks. It's as if she's such an shocking affront to him, after years of bullying and marginalising Brezinzski, that he can't even countenance the sound of her voice, much less have to deal straight up with her views given as an equal political pundit.

I am sorry but I found that amusing. Rotten, but amusing.It was only a joke. I only give Gibson the benefit of the doubt because he is dead on when he talks about olbermann/­schuster/M­SNBC. They are obama-cheerleaders. Schuster (as a commentator) lead the crusade against former president clinton in 90's over the "scandals" & MSNBC actually has him on as an "objective political analyist!" Maddow is infact Olberman&Schuster's newest edition to the obama-squad.

I disagree. Maddow, like Keith, started out as pro-clinton or, at the least, not reflexively anti-clinton. It was only when clinton, panicked after Iowa, began employing dubious, decidely anti-Democratic campaign tactics that Maddow and Keith may have shifted. And, in Maddow's case, she is clearly conflicted with the idea that Clinton is not what she thought she would be.

Clinton's lunge for the brass-ring has come with a cost. She may yet get it but I shudder at the cost the nomination will bring to her and her family's legacy.
