John Gibson Mocks Rachel Maddow's Sexuality: "Ooh, Lesbians! Yummy!"

On his radio show yesterday, Fox News host John Gibson made fun of Air America host/MSNBC analyst Rachel Maddow, playing a clip that says "Ooh, lesbians! Yummy!" after airing audio of her discussing media coverage of Jeremiah Wright. Maddow is a lesbian.

Gibson came under public attack after mocking Heath Ledger's death on his radio show in January.

Let's call a timeout from the cheap shots and ask a serious question: Would it be unethical for gay liberals to ``out'' the elected Republican conservatives and right-wing commentators who actually are gay? Would that be good for the gay cause or bad for the gay cause?

I have no pre-judged answer to this; I'm honestly wondering. It is often said that some of the most powerful men in the Republican party and the right-wing news media are closted homosexuals or at least not ``out'' in the sense of Barney Frank. That may or may not be true; but, in the spirit of truth, would it not be best for people to know and judge on fact and evidence?

I take issue with the HuffingtonPost's use of the word "mocks" in the headline of this piece.
Obviously, the person who wrote it was a woman.

I'm glad to see that John Gibson takes the deaths of American soldiers seriously. Regardless, Maddow is one of the best commentators on TV today. She's very liberal, but she's exponentially more informed than anyone else on MSNBC.

I am a BIG fan of Rachels. She is a winner by any standard. So smart and quick on her feet. I especially appreciate her ability to put folk like Joe Scarborough in their place.
