Tom Cruise's much hyped two-part appearance on Oprah aired part one on Friday. Filmed in Tom's house Telluride, Colorado, the two covered many topics, from films and Scientology to ex-wife Nicole Kidman. All details on Tom Cruise's Oprah appearance here. Tom, lose the beard, get out of the closet, pony up for the kid, and stay off of Oprah.

Tom Cruise's great crime is that he criticized Big Pharma. Ever since he told the truth about psychiatric drugs, he cannot get an ouce of good press. It seems most on this blog have fallen for the media's Big Pharma attack on Tom Cruise.

The truth about psychiatric drugs...
Is that so many find great relief and live normal lives because of them. As with anything else, there are some who abuse or overprescribe, and some who have adverse reactions. But that doesn't negate the many who benefit so well.

Personal ?....how does jolly ol saint nick, aka santa clause aka jesus christ...play into scientolgy? I am seriously wondering because i'm not religious...at all, but i feel like a huge ass hypocrit and suffer through it "for the kids". Is is the same for scientologists?

Santa is Jesus? I don't think so incontempt. Santa comes (I think) from an old Northern Europe "end of year celebration" tradition that was commandeered by the church to gain more supporters for their jesus myth thing.

Many adults do placate the kiddies because they don't wish for them to feel left out of the festivities. Does this make them a "huge hypocrit (sic)"? I really don't think so. I've tried to get my kids to make up their own "end of year" festival. I even suggested Frank Zappa day (he was born Dec. 21... close enough) and they seemed cool with that for about oh, one season. The presents were there, the holiday cheer, Inca Roads played softly in the background as they opened their bounty, but alas peer pressure and wanting to fit in won out. Oh well. It's not like my atheist wife and I went marching down the isle to the preacher-man when we got married, or pray to assorted mythology when the social occasion dictates.

Where your kids are concerned, you have to give and take... Giving more often. I would imagine Cruise has the bank to give quite a bit.

Actually the original St. Nicolaus came from Turkey.

Thanks for the reply, I doubt it will parse the hypocrit feelings but we are of the same mind...every kid gets a present, my son gets spoiled though he believes in santa but not in god, whew, there was no parent calls when he said he argued it out in second grade class. lol

Well he's been fried by Scientology--I'll give you that. But I'm agnostic and celebrate Christmas and I have Jewish friends who do the same. To me it's about a tradition I grew up with (presents, tree, being nice to people, family together, Santa), which can be celebrated exclusively from the depths of the religious mythology that accompanies it. I mean some of the mythology is fun, just not to the point that people don't get it's mythology.

Blah blah... who cares. zzzzzzzzzzzz

What? Scientologists celebrating Christmas? I don't understand.

This "interview" is pure spin to counter all the real stuff this KOOK does and is up to.
