HuffPo had to shut down all comments on their story of the death of an innocent animal because they shamelessly tried to use it to disparage Hillary.

The ObamaL00ns say the EXACT same stuff about Hillary that the L00ny right-wingers did in the 90's.
These types were bad for America then, and they're still bad now. Gross people.

There was a time I wanted to vote for Obama, but his supporters have demonstrated just how ugly the world would be with them in power.
No thanks.

I don't get it.
Is Mattatat living in a parallel universe?
Clinton, in her desperation, turned this race into ugly rascist dirty tricks and innuendo. When the Clintonistas complain about Obama fans writing comments, I have to wonder if they read or even watch the news.
Hey! Mattatat! If your candidate somehow manages to be the nominee, do you have ANY idea how much sleaze and corruption will be suddenly "revealed"?
Are any of you Billary fans even wondering why the right wing idiots/]pundits are wetting their pants at the prospect of Hillary and Bill trying to get back into the WH?
Do any of you even understand that Obama, not Clinton, has more endorsements from the Senate? Think they're trying to TELL you something?

I have a relative (by marriage) who raises money for the Clintons. He refuses to talk to any of us because we all voted for Obama. Last year he was bragging about how she was unbeatable-that no one could earn as much money -that she was entitled to the presidency and that the whole party was going to enthusiastically endorse her and all kinds of other arrogant BS about how she would have the nomination in January.
HA!
Obama!

Yes, it is amazing that the Clintons' machine can spin an INEVITABLE WHO HAD TURNED INTO AN UNELECTABLE to a winnable running candidate while all the maths shows she can't catch up. Despite all the attacks she heaped on Obama, the win of Democrat Don Cazayoux, one of a handful of Southern candidates whom Republicans have tried to associate with Obama, won a special congressional election in a Republican district last night shows that Obama is still standing strong and more voters admire him for his refusal to ply the old dirty politics. Clinton is still battling (she never quits!) with her gas tax holiday while every expert said it is not the way to combat the oil dependency problem. While Clinton spins that he is a candidate who doesn't want to help poor people, the Friends of the Earth endorsed Obama because of his responsible stand on the matter. We need a President who thinks of the long term solutions for the people and for the country, not vote catcher for her own gains.

Mattata: The horse story for me as very sad... but I do feel that Hillary kind of wrote her own prophecy. This was a tragedy... and I support Obama.

I am sorry for the horse and if something happend physically to Hillary, I would be just as upset.
This election is about our country - not our pettiness.

That being said, I do not believe for one minute that you ever wanted to vote for Obama - But I am not about to let you diss Obama over harsh words he NEVER spoke regarding the death of a precious animal.

I just read that story about the horse, and the comments. Maybe you should check again and read the insulting comments posted by Hillary supporters. It's funny how both sides complain about disparaging comments about their candidate, and then go on to make disparaging comments, as you just did.

What a silly post....the Obama supporters are going to be "in power'? and then the world would be ugly????

Have you been in a cave these last 8 years????????????? Yes you want ugly vote for McCain; if Hillary gets the nomination there is no way the Democrats will make it to the White House.

Too bad your post went the wrong way at the end. Look, I'm an Obama supporter. I hope he wins. But if for whatever reason Clinton should win the nomination, believe me, I will hold my nose and I will vote for her in November. I will vote for her because as nasty and ugly has been her campaign against Obama, her stand on the issues is far better than McCain's. Let us not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

First of all, Los Angeles is the phoniest place on this mortal coil.

Secondly, looking for an original thought from an actor is an oxymoron.

And third, judging by every photo I've seen of Hanks since 'Castaway', it seems hideously clear that someone needs to lock the liquor cabinet when he's around the house.

Sounds like someone's a little bitter. Don't Bill & Hillary have a lot of H'wood buds? And yet, you say it's the phoniest place on earth? I disagree -- it's Washington, DC. Just live there for a while, you'll see.

Ar least your attack-post is in keeping with the Clintons' whole campaign -- when you have no substance of your own, attack the person.

Hatred like yours' belongs in the past -- just like the Clintons. The times are changing. Better get with the program.

Hanks was being FACETIOUS about his celebrity status being enough to sway voters.

Hanks was being SINCERE about his support of Obama.

Those of you who can't read the nuance really should step away from your computer screen more often. Have a wonderful day!

It is too bad that both sides of this contest have supporters ruled by such hatred.

Mattatat just because someone doesn't agree with, that does not make him stupid. You would do you candidate greater benefit by being respectful at the very least.

Los Angeles is the phoniest place (I'm from Los Angeles and I beg to differ), actors don't have original thoughts and his photos make it clear that he is drinking! That's how you reason. Yea, you should support Clinton. Thanks for the insight.

I have always been amazed at the number of people who not only care which candidate a particular celebrity endorses, but actually let this endorsement influence their own thinking. One poster goes so far as to "congratulate" Hanks .... FOR WHAT?

Why should anyone care who Tom Hanks or any other celebrity supports for president? I enjoy this man’s work on the screen and in fact find him to be one of the most versatile actors ever; but to me, who he endorses for president is totally irrelevant. His candidate of choice, I can assure you, will have no influence on me whatsoever!

Those who let celebrities influence their thinking on ANY subject are weak people … they are lemmings, very much like those who are influeneced by a "religion"! It is clear that most people posting on this site are weak people, only playing “follow the leader”!

Whether a person can act, sing, or play baseball does not, in any way make him or her anymore qualified to judge anyone’s qualifications for the Oval Office over mine … or yours … and that’s the point!

Ironically the title of the article says it all … instead of worrying about who “ACTOR” Tom Hanks is supporting for president, try thinking and evaluating for yourselves … for a change!

I adore Tom Hanks as an actor. I find his pretension to influence my vote an abuse of his screen popularity. Unfortunately, living in France I saw how Nicolas Sarkozy got popular French movie stars to support his campaign.

It worked. Some people do let movie stars decide their vote unfortunately.

If in one year's time, the mistake of Tom Hanks gives us a president with the low ratings which President Sarkozy now has, I suggest boycotting the films of Tom Hanks. That's what I'm doing with the movies of the French movie stars who backed Sarkozy. Perhaps that will keep movie stars like Tom Hanks from abuseful use of their influence.

His influence is only as great or as small as you allow it to be. Attempting to silence any reasoned American voice from expressing a thoughtful opinion is just plain silly.

wewax, kaygee ... Tom Hanks knows his celeb status only influences those of very weak minds whose vote is a sheet to the wind anyway. He knows that we know that he knows everyone else is fully capable of making up their own minds based on far more critical criteria than HIS opinion.

One of the joys of freedom of speech is that we get to hear what each other think and WHY ... those who have big microphones choose to use them ... that's capiltalism in the context of democracy ... get used to it ...

All politics is a crap shoot ... ya do your dang best to figure out who you think will do the best job ... and then so many of the winners either out-perform or under-perform ... and it's nearly impossible to tell in advance which ones will perform which way ... even the so-called "vetted" ones ...

are you going to boycott george bush for endorsing mccain? everyone tries to influence everyone. that's basically the life blood of every election. why are movie stars not supposed to share their opinions? i would gues that tom hank's IQ is about 141, give or take.i would bet george bush's IQ is maybe 99. i would bet that tom hanks doesn't have a selfish bone in his body and he wants the best for the world. i would bet the same goes for obama. bush wants what's best for his buddies. mccain wants what's best for bush's buddies too. hillary has an IQ of, i would guess, 149, but anyone who would unfairly besmirch another human being for her own advancement doesn't have what's best for the world in mind.. that's just my gut opinion, but then i suffer from american paranoia. for all i know, tom hanks is the anti christ and george bush altready did make the world a far far better place.

well after seeing the returns from Guam I have come to the realization that Hillary has 50% of the Democrats and Obama the other 50%

the question is who will turn out their base more

we could have a situation where Hillary could lead in the popular vote

not counting the uncontested elections (yes that includes Florida, if you don't know the other candidate your going to vote for the one you know)

in Michigan and Florida

I still think some citizens there should sue Florida and Michigan

the fact is that political parties and their right to make and enforce rules is in the constitution

not an amendment but hard wired into the constitution.

Hillary's "solution" is to sue. Hillary's supporters solution is to sue. Divide and sue. The Bush-Clinton legacies.
Is it any wonder that anyone with sound judgement and character like Hanks wants Obama? He sees the big picture.

Interesting post.

Reality? Obama is not electable and will not win. That issue has been conveniently sidestepped by the media during the primary process.

You can not outwit the electoral college.

Just look at an electoral map and tell me how Obama wins the Presidency while losing Florida, Michigan and Ohio in November.

I dare you.

You can't.

Welcome once again Democrats, to your cushy seat on the Titanic!

I am an attorney in California. Somehow I missed the part of the Constitution which hard wired the right of political parties to make and enforce rules. It seems odd since there were no political parties when the Constitution was ratified. I would deeply appreciate it if you would correct this lapse in my education.

Recently I received two emails, one of Michelle Obama encouraging Obama supporters to sign up to help in all 50 states with voter registration for the November election. Today Caroline Kennedy (Obama supporter) asking people to get involved in Sen. Obama's community organizer internship program. So you have one candidate attempting to engage you and get you involved, and one claiming they can fix the country no participation on your part is necessary. Every hard working American knows to get positive results you have to get off your rear and work for it there is no free ride!
